    Banchans ready!

A great k-bbq alternative to other well-known places like Somunanjip on Pal Park! Great space & thoughtful banchan and their combos while a bit on the expensive side was tasty. I'd say the taste is one of the best in the area! Kids and adults alike just dug in. They have prompt service & a small parking lot in the back for convenience. Definitely worth checking out if you're a fan of k-bbq!

This is a great spot for coal fire bbq, which is different than most kbbq options in New York. The ventilation system at SB was amazing. It barely smelled like smoke when you walk in and even when we were grilling in front of us. It doesn't get too busy, even on weekends, and we were able to get a table without a reservation.

    Veggie fried rice and steak.

I have to say I am very disappointed in my recent visit to this establishment. The first few times I came here or for birthdays and anniversary celebrations with my Korean boyfriend and it was an amazing experience. He only ordered in Korean and I kind of just sat still and quiet, but because I had such a good experience, and the food was so good, I decided to invite my friend for lunch. We are both not Korean. As an FYI for everyone, if you are not ordering 2 or more meat orders, you are not able to cook the meat in front of you and at the table, according to the waitress. We ordered one ribeye so they told us it was to be cooked inside, which was fine as you can see by the two photos the food was spectacular. However, this is more about the service :(. We had to ask for water every single time, while the attention was given to Korean customers. I also noticed that the tables besides us were given the daily special while we were only given regular menu. I understand that maybe because we don't know Korean and the specials were only in Korean characters that they were not given to us but it would be nice if you treated all your customers the same. I'm very sad that we missed out on the daily specials. I ordered a veggie fried rice and because it came out looking like hot stone Bibimbap I asked the waitress if this was a mistake, she told me that this is a Korean style fried rice so it's not a mistake, I was fine with it, however, upon leaving they charged us some thing completely different. She said it's because of communication. She's sorry, but was not going to change the price. I wasn't sure exactly what was put into order because the veggie fried rice was not lunch menu price or dinner menu price, it was completely different. It wasn't the bibimbap price either. They did not explain to us exactly what happened and what that dish was. All I know was that the veggie fried rice that we ate or the hot stone veggie rice that we ate was neither lunch or dinner pricing and the lady got a little frustrated. She asked for another waitress to come by who knew more English as she ran to tend to the other customers. The Second Lady said that it was a mistake and since I was not OK with giving my card to them to charge for the price. She said she was going to take off the two dollars which would've been the veggie fried rice price. If I did not double check the receipt I would have been charged extra for no reason. This was so disappointing because I loved this place. It was also embarrassing because I raved about it to my friend. Hopefully other folks that are non-Korean have a better experience than we did. Unfortunately we didn't feel welcomed. The ambience is casual, with parking in the back which is rare for this area and I would recommend for families but just double check your receipts. 1 star for parking. 1 star for delicious food. 1 star for clean establishment. -1 for not giving us the daily special menu but did to all the tables around us who spoke Korean. -1 for up charging a dish we did not order and was the fault of waitress.

Good Korean bbq option. The meats are usda prime and cooked over Charcoal, which adds a lot of flavor. We ordered both the marinated and non marinated meats and found the non marinated much better. The marinated sauce was so sweet. Additionally ordered the cold buckwheat noodles (which literally had ice in the soup), skip this! And the rice cake. Overall, meats are good, marinate is so sweet, and skip the cold buckwheat noodle.

We drove over an hour to eat at this place and we really enjoyed it. We ordered the non marinated galbi & porkbelly! The galbi was so soft and melted in your mouth definitely loved the quality of the meats. The pork belly was thick but had a lot of fat on it next time we will try the thin cut pork belly. We also ordered the mandugook with rice cake and dumplings and it was delicious the flavors were on point! The service was great they always filled our food and drinks. Great customer service. They also cooked our meats for us which was very nice. Can't wait to come back here again and try other meat options! Highly recommend making a resy for big parties.

My brothers fam brought us here and it was a good time! Their ban chan includes SQUID? Like isn't that a premium item?? Their water was also rice water?? What's going on here?! This is my DREAM. Plus they definitely have their staff cook the food for you, which is ideal since I'm a horrible cook! The sauce and service as well as the food were all good. Also my brother is constantly raving that this is a coal not gasoline burner, so I guess extra points for that as well. All in all an excellent restaurant that clearly shows their effort and attention to detail.

Yay for discovering more charcoal grilled KBBQ spots in the area!! My past favorite was starting to go down in my rankings due to service and quality but Soohtbul Garden hasn't disappointed! Their pork was perfectly thick and balanced fat/lean meat ratio. Their kalbi was great quality, good marbling. Their set menus come with corn cheese, egg stew and soy bean paste stew. Also, they use truffle salt which is a plus! The food is consistent and yummy, and the servers are attentive and polite. What more can you ask for?

Food: The BBQ here was my favorite! Came here to enjoy some KBBQ with my parents and this place did not disappoint. The meat was well marinated and I enjoyed the thickness of it as well- some places cut it super thin and I don't feel full even after eating 3 portions worth! Cost: The KBBQ was a little pricey but nothing beyond the typical range. Environment: This place is huge! Lots of seating available and I don't see them having any trouble accommodating large parties if needed. Service: The servers were attentive and made sure to flip our meat every once in awhile so it does not burn. They cooked it well and even changed the cooking platform when it got too burnt. Uniqueness: They had some extra dishes that I normally wouldn't ordered but began to crave once I saw it on the menu- I did get the seasoned baby clam dish/salad and found it pretty good. Not sure if I would order again but it did satisfy my craving.

Hot charcoal and premium quality meat...yes please! The meat and charcoal shine at this place. Every cut of meat we ordered was as good if not better than any other Korean bbq I've been to and the charcoal grill gave the meat a nice smokey grilled flavor. We ordered combo number 3 (ribeye, prime cube beef short rib, prime brisket, spicy marinated pork, thin sliced pork belly) which says is good for 3-5 people but for 4 hungry guys it was not enough. In addition, we also ordered the sliced prime short rib and another order of the prime cube beef short rib, which was hands down our favorite. The meats were all tender and flavorful but the short rib cuts had so much beautiful marbling that you only see at a good steakhouse. The reason for the four stars instead of five was the service was a little slow. It took awhile for us to order drinks and food. Also, the banchan could've been better. They gave us a complimentary corn cheese appetizer which was just okay. I thought it could've used a lot more cheese. This place is definitely more expensive than your standard Korean bbq joint but you can taste the difference in the meat quality.

Charcoal Korean BBQ? Yes please! I've driven by this place countless times before but came for the first time for lunch today. We were a group of 12 and they were extremely accommodating. Make sure to call in advance, especially if you are with a large group. They give you plenty of side dishes, along with steamed egg and bean paste stew. We had the pork jowl, chadol, and marinated galbi and everything was pretty good. The mul nangmyun was a really nice finish to the meal as well. Paired with Terra beer and icy soju? Perfection. Great food, great service, great experience all around. Can't wait to be back!

Charcoal Fish bbq is wonderful Service is good. Interior is modern. Everything is like.

Food was overall pretty tasty but the low rating is unfortunately for poor service. I went with a friend for lunch around 11:30 on a Tuesday and we were the first people to arrive. We had the marinated short rib which was delicious along with the Korean vegetable fried rice which was not your typical fried rice. It was served on a hot place for us to mix together and sauce to drizzle on top. Since we only ordered one order of the short ribs they cooked it for us in the kitchen instead of on the grill at the table. Orders of two or more KBBQ meats are cooked at the table which we did not mind. The banchan were also tasty, our favorite was the seaweed which they refilled for us. We were disappointed however that we were not given a menu for the daily specials which we later saw was all in Korean. It was unfortunate that we were not treated the same as other guests. Then upon receiving the check, we noted the fried rice was not entered as the lunch menu price. When we brought it to our waitress' attention she apologized but did not proceed to fix the mistake until we fought to have it corrected. There's plenty of other restaurants in the area I'd go to first before returning unfortunately

First time trying here. We were so glad we found this gem. Went to so many Korean bbq places but meat tastes so much better with charcoal than gas. The meat was so tender and marinated to perfection. I don't usually get pork but we did because of my family. We wanted spicy marinated pork but accidentally ordered regular marinated pork. So good. I couldn't even tell it was pork- no gaminess at all. Tasted like beef, so it's a good alternative if you want to save money on ordering meat. The customer service was beyond our expectations. They were so attentive, friendly, and accommodating. We loved our waitress. We ordered combo B and cubed marinated short ribs from a la cart, yukgajang soup. With the side dishes which came free, it fed 5 of us well with satisfaction. Would definitely come back here when we visit New Jersey again.

Even the Kimchi Stew and Gyeran-jjim were more umami than the countless counterparts I've had elsewhere. I really liked the gomtang as the flavors were really rich especially when elevated by the pepper. - Seolleongtang - Clear and beautiful broth that went really well with salt.
