Food quality / price (value) rating 9.5. The atmosphere is cozy and dark. I would classify this place as a rare "hidden gem". They have a dining room that seats about 50, and a bar that seats around eight. They also have a very cute outdoor seating area covered by a large awning. The menu is Continental cuisine leaning toward Italian, and is very well balanced where everyone should he able to find a satisfying meal. Our experience began with a couple of very unique "East Side Martinis", vodka, cucumber, muddled mint and lime.....so good I had to have a second one! We were then treated (gratis) to the absolutely best bruschetta I've ever eaten.....loaded with chopped tomato, onion, and garlic. Fantastico! For an entree I had the Maple Glazed Pork Tenderloin Medallions with mashed potatoes and braised cabbage. A perfect melding of complimentary flavors. This restaurant clearly has no issues with making very flavorful choices when it comes to spices and accents. The wife had the Chicken Special with fettuccine and lemon butter white wine sauce that was also very flavorful and excellent. Everything was so good that we had to get dessert, a slice of Almond Joy pie to go. The owner, Sue, a baker / chef, is typically in attendance, and has heen running the restaurant for ten years now. Our server, Jen, was attentive and experienced. They have a Happy Hour on Monday through Friday 3 to 6 pm. I'd highly recommend this place for everyone! UPDATE: Ate the Almond Joy pie the next day. Great time here at Meet Me Here. My aunt and uncle are pretty much regulars here and my only other experience prior to this visit was calling to buy them a gift card on the phone. During this request (I live further away), staff were so accommodating and sent the gift card for me hassle free! So after that experience I knew I was in for a treat coming here for dinner. Meet me here is super small but so cozy! We celebrated my aunt's birthday here and had a whole corner of the restaurant to ourselves. It does get loud because the space is small but it does have a nice ambiance. We ordered numerous apps, entrees and desserts. I loved their filet mignon! I ordered mine medium rare and it was cooked perfectly! So tender too and perfectly seasoned. I also loved their drinks- I got the white cranberry cosmo and a regular cosmo. My mom and I found this place a few years ago. From the outside, it looks pretty plain, but inside...WOW! It is incredibly cozy and always decorated for the seasons/holidays. The cocktails are always delicious. The food portions are HUGE and the bill doesn't break the bank. The French Onion soup is definitely a highlight; we get it almost every time we go. Having a morning meeting that ended around lunch, I was passing by Meet Me Here and decided to finally try it. I've passed by it many times, but never had the occasion to stop. This would be as good a time as any. For a mid-week lunch period after 1pm, the restaurant was fairly busy--all the booths and most of the two-tops were taken, and after I got there, some of the larger tables filled up as well. Luckily, the bar was empty, so I seated myself there. The bartender/server, was quick to come over, put the menus in front of me, as well as the wine list and cocktail specials. After a meeting that could have been an email, the cocktails were tempting, but I settled for a glass of wine--a very nice Super Tuscan, a rarity on many wine lists. Wines by the glass are reasonably priced, and there is a great selection. No lunch specials that day, but the regular menu was interesting. Many sandwiches and burgers, a nice selection of salads, and a small, but interesting selection of entrees--nothing too heavy, but all fairly standard. The server/bartender, Sherrie, brought my wine, and I explained I'd like to sit and enjoy it for a bit before I ordered. No problem, since she was busy bringing food out to tables. Once it quieted down, and my wine glass needed a refill, I ordered: a bowl of minestrone (I rarely order soup, but it was a cold day, and minestrone is one of my favorites), and Chicken Parmesan. The soup was hot and filling, with lots of vegetables and a healthy scoop of ditalini on top, still al dente, since it wasn't sitting in the soup for hours. That was consumed quickly, and it wasn't long before the chicken was placed before me. It was a decent-sized piece of breaded chicken, over house-made fettuccine, covered with a light marinara. The chicken was tender, and not greasy, like some versions I've had in the past, the pasta was still firm, and the sauce was tasty, without being overly spiced. I've lately fallen into the bad habit of asking about desserts, and worse than that, have been ordering one. There was no dessert menu, but Sherrie was able to reel of the day's selections--all house-made. The one thing that caught my interest was the FunnyBone cake--chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting, covered with a chocolate Grenache. That, and a cup of coffee (she fresh-brewed) were quickly put in front of me, and consumed even quicker. Tab was settled quickly, and I though it was quite reasonable. I definitely will keep this in my rotation of places to eat when I'm in Middlebury, with the only drawback being they're closed on Sundays, my usual day out. I should also try it for dinner some time, and see what's on that menu. I highly recommend Meet Me Here! read more

We've been meaning to come here for weeks and now I'm wishing we'd not put it off! We came during off hours (after one pm) so it was quiet but the service was on point and the food perfect! The appetizer of rice croquettes were like Arancini only cheesier and softer ... the creamy sauce was out of this world ... I wanted to lick that plate!!!! :) My salmon over Caesar salad was so good - Cajun but still juicy - I kept saying I was going to stop eating but finished it anyway! The Caesar was delicious! Super garlicky with just a hint of anchovies that let me know it was "real" Caesar! My daughter's burger was loaded with bacon and cooked just as she requested! The penne a la vodka was in the top 10 that we've had and we've had a lot!! Super impressed with the delicious homemade pineapple vodka cocktail!! First visit but definitely not the last. Earlier this year, my wife and I visited this restaurant in order to celebrate a special event. I ordered the Lobster Macaroni and Cheese, which has been a favorite of mine at other restaurants. The meal which I received was absolutely terrible. The cheese sauce, was essentially soup, which seeped down to the bottom of the bowl. The lobster was stiff and very briney.... obviously frozen, canned lobster. I did not believe that any restaurant would ever serve such a meal, and especially at $37.00. I ordered the penne ala vodka with chicken - portion was very generous and so good! I am excited to have this for leftovers! Be aware! All of their items are even amounts which is fine! However!!! The CT tax for dining is 7.35% and our bill was $120.00 and they added $10.00 in tax. The CT tax on $120.00 is $8.82. We asked the manager and they have no idea why the register ups it to an even number. FYI manager knew the tax should be $8.82 but still gave us the bill with tax being $10.00. read more

This is a cute little Italian restaurant in Middlebury. The outside is a house and the opening is on the side. It's a small restaurant so reservations would be best. The staff are very nice and know their menu well. The cook can adjust most food to be gluten free which is awesome. The food is flavorful but could use a little salt at times but that's just me haha. The alcoholic drinks are always amazing here too! I really enjoy how cozy it is inside and how big their dishes are. I often come here with my girlfriends to catch up! Ps. Very cozy place with many regulars. Menu does state it takes time to prepare but we we not offered bread nor does the entrees come with a salad- so it ended up being a long time to wait for our dinner. The Chicken and Pork Milanese were very good but the Braised Beef over linguine was not. Beef was chewy and the food got boring after a few bites. We moved here recently and the food nearby is generally abysmal to average with few exceptions - thankfully- meet me here is an exception! They can actually cook, the atmosphere is relaxed, the desserts are fresh and home made. I had chicken parm (nice size, good flavor) and my date had salad (well flavored also). The app was yummy and drinks were perfect. Grateful to have a decent place close by. Prices a tiny bit high but that is par for the course in this area. Food is just expensive now. Sat outside for dinner on a Friday night. The one disappointment is it's very loud as it's right on the main road. Great lamb lollipops and chicken milanese. My one complaint with the chicken Milanese dish was that the lemon noodles it came with were tasteless. If there was a sauce, it was extremely thin and the noodles just tasted watery. I took my wife here for her birthday, since we've never tried this restaurant. The first statement that I will share is that you never judge a book by its cover. From the outside, it doesn't look like much of a restaurant, more like a Knick Knack shop where the cashier knows everyone by first name. When you walk into the door, you're walking into what appears to be a basement. But, what a pleasant surprise when we walked into the restaurant. The workmanship of the place was great, complimented by a beautiful bar and white table tops. I was humbled. For a starter we got fried calamari. It was crispy and flavorful. The marinara sauce was very good as well. Bread and roasted garlic oil also came to the table. The bread appeared to be fresh, possibly made in house but I'm not sure. My wife then got a Caesar salad. She said it was the best Caesar dressing she has ever had. It was creamy, the lettuce was cold, and the croutons were crunchy. I ordered a French Onion Soup. Delicious. Flavorful. Not too salty. Generous amount of cheese. For dinner, my wife got the Crusted Salmon, which was served with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. The salmon was very flaky, and so soft you barely needed to chew it. The mashed potatoes were puréed so much there were no chunks, and melted right in your mouth. The Brussels sprouts though. They were crispy, and topped with what appeared to be a sweet balsamic dressing. They were amazing. I went with a Swordfish special, which was topped with Lobster meat. I chose this because I read a review where a guy criticized the lobster meat. He was terribly mistaken. It was soft, sweet, and plentiful. The Parmesan risotto that accompanied the swordfish was amazing, and I love risotto. I would've threw a little more garlic with the spinach, but it was still very tasty. The swordfish itself, much like the salmon, was soft and flavorful. What a great meal. To finish off the night my wife grabbed the monthly cheesecake, which was a coconut style cheesecake. I wanted regular cheesecake but they didn't have it. I ddciddd to go with a chocolate flourless cake, which was served hot with a side of vanilla ice cream. Both desserts were awesome. Add a couple of cappuccinos to the mix and we had one hell of a night (and bill). Another review stated the price of the food was not warranted by the quality, and he too is sadly mistaken. You want cheap prices go to McD's. The bill was exactly where I thought it would be, and where it should be. Our waitress was awesome. The dinner dishes we ended up getting were good but the service wasn't worth it . The waitress were more interested it people that seemed like they were locals at the bar . Usually a very fine restaurant, they struck out today. Waitperson was indifferent but mildly friendly. Ordered a Bourbon and ginger and got Bourbon and soda instead. Ugh. Never had that happen before. Friend asked for butter - it didn't come. Had to ask again, waitperson said she didn't hear anyone ask for it. Strip steak some of the worst I have ever had - lots of gristle, very tough to cut with a steak knife, and tasteless. Had to send it back. "Deja Vu" Have we met before? You look so familiar, but I must be thinking of someone else. That's how I felt when we walked into Meet Me Here. I started coming to this location when it was Emmanuel's. Then it became L Restaurant and one or two other restaurants. I didn't bother to try the restaurants after L Restaurant moved to a larger location. But I heard good things about Meet Me Here so we gave it a try. It was a familiar face with a different brand of lipstick. We enjoyed our dinners and our waitress, Melissa, was pleasant. My wife and I split a fresh kale salad and my mother-in-law had the french onion soup. My wife and mother-in-law had Mark's Chicken Milanese. Lightly breaded chicken served with spinach and pappardelle pasta topped with a lemon butter wine sauce. It had a nice taste but lacked tenderness because they didn't pound out the chicken before sauteing it. I had the Seared Sea Bass with sauteed spinach, chickpeas, capers, cherry tomatoes, crushed red pepper, and light chicken broth served with creamy mashed potatoes. Slow service and mediocre food at lunch. Hostess/waitress was dressed sloppily and spent 90% of her time on her phone. We were one of two tables of customers, but lunch order took over 20 minutes. We've eaten here a few times. The lavender martini will give you a quite a buzz. I had the chicken sausage and bean soup which was good. I had the buttered lobster roll which was amazing - I had doubts about a lobster roll in Middlebury - no problem substituting broccoli for fries. The mixed grill is a great choice for a light eater - an entree salad topped with chicken, steak and shrimp (one shrimp!) They are flexible with substitutions. What a wonderful find! Had a relaxed and delicious lunch there today with a friend. We opted for the $20 price fixed three-course lunch. We had a delicious, fresh salad - so yummy, and then the chicken, bacon wrap with fries which were out of this world, and for the included dessert my friend had the Oreo cake and I had the Lemoncello cake which sent my lemon loving tastebuds into a very, very happy place. I got the Chicken Marcela and it was absolutely perfect. The taste, portion & price was amazing. What literally was the icing on the cake as far as the luncheon went was the dessert. As soon as the Chocolate Peanut Butter (Funnybone) Cake was delivered to the table I KNEW who made it. Not only will the portion size will blow you away, the taste is out of this world !!! However, we had noticed that a couple of friends that just showed up. They had a close table. We asked the staff if the could join us since we didn't receive our main course yet. The answer we received was no because our table had another reservation scheduled after us. For the rest of the meal, our party felt rushed.
