i have used the expert appliance center several times, both for repairs and to purchase new…read moreappliances. also i have had Jose come in 2x in the last 4 years to check out and clean my now 30 year old GE refrigerator. when i inquired about getting a new one, he told me my current one was functioning well and advised me to keep it. he noted that new appliances are just not as well made. on a different occasion the large wand head on my miehle vacuum stopped working. so i went in to buy a new one, Alexi, the man in the store, told me that they could try to repair it for $40. if it couldn't be fixed, the $40 would be applied to the price of a new wand head (which was well over $100.) well, they fixed it and also showed me how i could open it to clean it more thoroughly than i had been. finally, i recently had to buy a new microwave and figured i might as well buy a new electric range to replace my genuinely antique old one. so they sent me to the internet to find the appliances that i wanted and then return and tell them what i wanted so they would give me their price. they had the items i wanted in stock, were competitive and their installation fee reasonable, which included removing the old appliances and taking them away). we scheduled the installation for a date not far off and they provided, in advance, a certificate of insurance as required by my coop. the delivery was as scheduled and the 2 men who removed the old appliances and installed the new ones were professional, pleasant and efficient. it is really great to have a place like this, where one is dealing face to face with real people in the neighborhood.

I called him back in a few minutes after locating the information and was told that he would text me and I would text him back with the model number. Why, I don't know. At any rate, he never texted me so I went down the list to A to Z. I called this number and, low and behold, it was the same guy, berating me for calling him again, although there was no indication that these were branches of a single business. I explained to him the reason for my confusion and offered to give him the model number now. His reply: I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT! then he hung up on me. Maybe he was having a bad day, but from the comments I've read he apparently has bad days mixed in with the good. So, you may take your chances but as for me, I'm not going to call him ever again hoping for the positive experience that some report. It's not a gamble I'm willing to take.

I placed an order with him, and he took the deposit for 90% of the new stove cost. After two weeks the first stove arrived damaged. He replaced the damaged stove with a defective one. Another three weeks passed, no words from Joe. I reached out again, and he mentioned that the faulty stove is not his responsibility and gave me a new number to call to get it fixed. When I couldn't get any help from the number, Joe stopped taking my calls or return my messages. It's been over five months since I received the defective stove; I still can't find anyone to help me and can't get the refund.
