My first time purchasing from this appliance store. I was looking for two air conditioners for my rental apartment inwall unit I went to a famous chain outlet, and was told that I would need to redo the casing for the air conditioners. Well, I went to Klearview Appliance and the salesman was very attentive, and wanted to know the make and model of the old airconditioners. Went home took picture and back to the store I went. Two installers came to my apartment two days later. They installed two air conditioners reccomended by the salesman. Voila' no problem. Everything is working fine and did not need to cut out and fix air conditioner cut out. The new airconditioner had the same dimension as the old one. I purchased an AC, the Russian salesman was very nice and helpful. I was going to write a good review. Then I had to come back because there was an issue. The guy turned 180 on me. I told him there was an issue, he didn't even bother to approach me, i had to explain it to him from half-the-store away. He was rude, not helpful, i heard vitriol in his voice. THE WORST POSSIBLE EXPERIENCE !!! I purchased new Bosch dishwasher from Klearview Paid ~$1500 for dishwasher and installation They installed it in October 2016 to my condo in Brooklyn They installed incorrectly, started leaking... Water leak badly damaged our hardwood floors Klearview told me they would submit it to their insurance and deal with it... They strung me along for months Finally (in May 2017) after 6 months of leading me on, they said too bad, we aren't paying to fix your floors (or any of the other damage our men caused). You're on your own I am now in process of submitting a ~$10,000 claim to my homeowners insurance to fix the damage Klearview caused. Please please please do not use them !! Cannot say that enough Below is copy of my initial email to their customer service guy in November explaining all that went wrong (in addition to water damage to floors). This email was first of what turned into a 6 month email back and forth before they finally refused to fix any of the damage they caused = = = From: David Date: November 7, 2016 at 9:43:40 PM EST To: jackie@klearview.com Subject: Follow up (dishwasher install) Jackie, nice speaking with you today. Per your request, below is a summary of our experience with the dishwasher installation. On the day dishwasher installed, my wife was at home and let the workmen into our apartment and let them out. She did not really inspect their work. When I arrived home that evening from work, I did a more detailed inspection and noticed a few issues: (1) Closet door handle completely broken off... narrow part of hallway the men clearly would have come through to enter and exit with machine, seems like they snapped handle right off the door when forcing the machine through (2) Dishwasher installed too deep into kitchen island... pushed so far into island that back wall of island (where back side of dishwasher touches) is bowing out from pressure, island wood discolored from pressure, metal trim at bottom of island broken off entirely (3) Scuffing of kitchen floor... hardwood floor in kitchen (which was sanded and refinished less than a year ago) has deep scuff marks, appears machine dragged across floor leaving permanent marks (4) Kitchen sink water pressure lower than before installation The day after the installation, my wife contacted you about some or all of the above issues. Approximately 2 weeks after installation when water pressure had not improved, we decided to see if we could do something to fix it ourselves. Upon investigating the pipes under sink, we discovered water seeping form the connection where the men attached the dishwasher hose. The water was slowly flowing down from connection, running down outside of pipe and into the floor. Seepage slow enough that we could not hear dripping. We tightened the connection and the leak stopped In the week and a half since the leak was repaired, during the drying process, the hardwood floor around leak have become warped and buckled. We were willing to overlook some of the cosmetic issues I listed above (or fix them ourselves)... however, the damage to floorboards from the leak may require a flooring specialist and related expense. Note that we have not had a floor specialist assess damage yet as we are hoping the boards will flatten when fully dried. However, to the extent flooring needs to be repaired or replaced, we believe that Klearview should bear responsibility for these damages caused by faulty installation and contribute accordingly. I needed an air conditioner two days ago because I knew that my kitchen air conditioner was not cooling off. I called the usual place that I called Klearview and today I had two great guys deliver and install with no problems whatsoever. I was more impressed with them than anything sometimes people don't get the credit that they r due...not only are they wearing masks and trying to make a living while the rest of us r still at home but they cleaned up every drop and they did a great installation. The only reason I am giving two stars and not one is because they will match or slightly beat prices of larger box stores. I always prefer to give local stores my business rather than going to a Lowes or Home depot. My family has purchased our appliances here for easily 10 years because we/ve always had good experiences. My husband and I came in here over the summer to look into purchasing mini-split a/c's for our home. The salesman refused to give us any sort of pricing without paying $100 for someone to come to our home to look at it. So basically I'd be paying $100 only to then find out if the system we were interested in would be $1000 or $10000, no idea, and he was literally yelling at us because I felt it was wrong to pay the money without having any idea of what the final cost would be. We walked out very upset. We came in here again because we needed a new washing machine and were ready to purchase it on the spot. We knew exactly the machine we wanted and how much it was worth to pay. The sales guy quoted me a price that was very good and when I started to ask questions about it and maybe try and get a better discount, he literally started yelling at me, again. It's always the same salesman on the left side of the store that is consistently rude to us and is literally the reason I would rather spend more money elsewhere than give a person like that my money. I have purchased a dishwasher and refrigerator from this store. I found the salespersons to be knowledgeable and prices average. The reason I am rating the store with 1 star is for their extended warranties. Both purchases have been giving me problems which also leads me to believe that perhaps they sell refurbished items. I purchased extended warranty plans and it is now three weeks of back and forth lies from this store. They say they will call you back and never do. There seems to be only one person that deals with repairs. If she is not in you are told that nobody else can help you. Needless to say it has now been three weeks with a broken refrigerator! My landlord uses these guys for appliances and the turn around time is unbelievable. They can deliver product within 48 hours of the phone call. The delivery people are exceptionally nice and the customer service is tops as well. I like to do business with the mom and pops and this place is a family owned business so that works for me. I live in Los Angeles, and was trying to get an air conditioner installed for my daughter in Brooklyn. The big box stores couldn't seem to understand this concept.
