Awful money hungry company. I was told 2 Fridays back to back my part was being delivered that day 7/10 and 7/17. To which it never came. Then when I would call to question why I have not been scheduled the last 2 days in a row 7/20 and 7/21 they said oh we can't see the part you have to talk to "XYZ" and that gal would not call me back I've called 6 times for a call back. So currently I am without AC for 2 weeks. If you don't have the part just say that. Don't tell customers over and over you do have it, if you do not. Called other places around town and it appears some others have it on deck.... Ready to be installed. Plus $500 cheaper. I thought an hvac company backed by Lowe's would be legit, but this is a high pressured sales company that prey on your ignorance and fear. A service tech came and I was scheduled for a tune up, but I got an "airflow evaluation " instead. The guy told me I had the worst system he's ever seen in his life. He said I had to sign a liability waiver because of these "dangerous" findings and his supervisor needed to come talk to me. This is similar to going to a timeshare sales event where you go through different people selling you overpriced things you don't need. I ended up getting a second opinion from a smaller company that said I just needed a cleaning and some small repairs. Buyer beware. read more

I agree with a lot of the bad reviews here about wanting to sell you a new unit rather than fixing the issue. For the price we paid, my new unit is loud and inefficient at times. Had them come out for a $49 tune-up on our HVAC system that was working perfectly. They gave it a clean bill of health but tried to up sell "deep cleaning" and duct cleaning also. About an hour after the tech left we noticed the temp rising in the house. Went outside and there is a part laying next to the unit on the ground. Of course they were closed so i call at 8am the next morning and explained that we were leaving at 1pm that afternoon and we really needed this resolved because our house is for sale and we have a showing scheduled the next day. They called me back an hour and half later to tell me a tech would be by between 11 and 1. Well at 12:45 I called them back and the tech wasn't going to be there on time and they couldn't tell me when he would arrive. When I said this was unacceptable the guy on the phone actually said to me "are we supposed to have him work through his lunch?" I am beyond pissed. read more

They said someone would call me back which I thought was odd. I waited over an hour and called back. They again couldn't confirm my appointment and transferred me to a guy. This man told me that they couldn't do the job because it wasn't $5,000 min and someone should of called and told me. Like WTF. I purchased a service plan so they come out once a year. A real nice young man serviced my HVAC system today and advised me of the issues he found. The only immediate item needed was a capacitor, a 5 minute plug and play item. They charged me $471 for a $10-$20 capacitor. I should have done a little research. I was told I need a new heat pump fan at $1250 or $1,500 (OEM) and I can get an OEM fan for less than $300. I was ripped off this time but it won't happen again and I really feel like an idiot, but I'll NEVER purchase anything from them again. read more

We had SP visit because he had a heating issue. The technician was so friendly and professional and did a complete evaluation of the HVAC system. However, he told us that our 10 year old system was unsafe and could cause serious trouble in the near future. Then he provided a document "Safety Concern Notification Form", that seemed to promote an atmosphere of fear. OK, we were convinced the system needed replacement and proceeded to have other HVAC companies provide estimates for replacement. The next two companines told us that our system only showed signs of normal use and did not require replacement, nor was it a safety concern! We had it repaired by soomeone else for a nominal fee and it is working fine now. Do yourself a favor and google, "HVAC scams" and then read about how companines like Service Patriots attempt to scam people. Wish I could give a negative 5 star! During their annual spring HVAC tune-up the "found 4 leaks" in the refrigerant line. Then claimed the entire system was empty and needed to be totally replaced. The units where just eight (8) years old. Then their supervisor performed a high-pressure sale of a $22K system. They also claimed that continuing to use it would further damage both the heating unit and the heat pump. I finally decided to get two other opinions from competitors. Both of them said the system was just a little low and the leak was just in the threads at a connection (which one of them tightened). So, for the price of two other service calls (and 3 lbs of refrigerant) I saved myself $22,000 I am definitely using someone else in the future. read more

Unfortunately for him, I worked for a local utilitiy for 40 years and know there is no such requirement. When called out, the tech promised to call to provide either proof or verify he was mistaken. If I could leave negative stars I would. 2.5 years ago I had Service patriots come out to do a yearly servicing on our unit. We got the same scare tactics as some other reviewers where they told us it was a fire hazard and we would need to sign some sort of waiver. They had a sales person come talk to us and we ended up buying a whole new system for 20k The system was guaranteed to fix our airflow issues with our second story. It took multiple service calls to get the new system to work at all as far as having any airflow upstairs. Now we are having nonstop issues with the outdoor condenser working at all. We have had technicians out and keep getting the run around. We definitely need the condenser replaced at this point. Of course we are again waiting for the warranty department or a manager to call us back. Based on previous experience this will take weeks again. We had a system that was working fine, thought a tune up before winter was a good idea. Landon went through the system trying to sell a little something extra the whole way. Once he was gone and the system was back in normal mode it would not cool. I investigated and found a disconnected wire on the outdoor unit. Once the wire was fixed I found he had reprogramed our thermostat. Total waste of money, we will now need to have reputable HVAC outfit come out and run through the system. read more

They placed down floor coverings to keep the floors safe and clean while accessing basement to remove/install new system under 7hrs. Mikey did an exceptional job on the maintenance of my furnace & heat pump. He recommended a hard start kit to extend the life of the heat pump and ever since then, it runs quiet each time the AC starts. Although I had gotten used to the loud noise at each start, I prefer the quiet starts now. He explained why this was needed and how it would extend the life of the unit. He saw that the coils were dirty and put a solution on them and washed them so now my heat pump can operate with less tension. Came out to check on my HVAC system from a promo through Home Depot. My name was wrong in the forms after correcting Home Depot rep several times. I had a feeling they would red tag it because it was on its last leg. Sure enough- red tagged. The 3.5 hour experience made me uncomfortable. Instead of being pragmatic, Darwin was patronising, over explained simple concepts over and over, attempted to "calm me down" with a video call and more calls with patronising employees. I was calm. Just tag it and let me work on the solution. Claimed that a replacement would be over $12k. Suggested I would need an 80000 btu for my 1000 sqft home. Claimed my AC was 15 years old, it is 10 yrs old. Claimed that there were only a number of AC and furnaces that would be compatible with another- true. But maybe lead with the options instead of intimidation tactics. Cherry on top- he somehow didn't notice the Y connection for the water heater vent had dislodged amidst his struggle with the system before he drove his "long way home", letting carbon monoxide leak into the garage freely. Still claim safety is your #1 priority? This company will prey on you. read more

I called and left messages with their after hours answering service on two separate occasions and didn't hear back. After waiting about 2 weeks I decided to call them again and got through to someone who sent a technician out two days later. I explained over the phone, in detail, what I wanted them to check out, so when the technician showed up without the necessary adapter I was pretty frustrated. I'll be honest, we got a very pricey system (~$53,000, 12 unit split system) with very high installation costs (installation craftsmanship was not good, at every opportunity to cut corners or install a unit in a way that made their job easier, but ours harder in the long run, they took it) and service contract costs and the first time we request service it takes over 2 weeks to get someone out here. The most disheartening thing is that the salesman (Travis) who came out to the house was an incredibly bright and charismatic young man. He's the main reason I refrained from writing this review after the install, but then the service was the straw that broke the camel's back. read more

Since they installed new heat pump system, not only did they install wrong crossing wires they didn't fix the broken heating line under my home so half of my heat and cooling went under the house. Very bad high pressure sales. They basically will not tell you anything you ask and force you to buy the "envelope " of there choice. They would not let me read the contract talked and stayed for hours evading questions. I just wanted them to leave. They installed a unit and I discovered it was not what they told me. I called and they said they would talk to sales rep and get back to me. Never got a call back. They will lie and install the lowest quality item and charge the highest price. I was approached by a sales representative at my local Home Depot, the offer was to do a complete furnace and AC system cleanup and inspection for +/- $56.00. I should know better than to expect anything less than what I got. Tim was the technician that showed up to my house, I could tell right away that he was there not to do a tuneup or service, but to sale me services when he asked "are you thinking about replacing your system". Then He started by pointing out everything that was wrong with my system ( the furnace and the AC system don't match, there is not enough clearance for the outside unit, etc). If I ever decide to replace my AC system it would definitely not be with Service Patriots. read more

Jared came out and was very knowledgeable, going above and beyond in cleaning and servicing the AC. He also made recommendations based upon concerns about our 18-month old furnace. We're at the very beginning of a process to replace our 23 year old Rheem furnace and separate AC unit with a heat pump. Service Patriots sent Sean out for maintenance and Sean was very thorough! Two other companies in Astoria have been doing the maintenance on out equipment for 10 years but never looked inside the pipes that heat up. Sean put a camera inside and found a lot of rust. He also explained what might have happened to cause the rust (our fault for covering the 2 air intake holes in our floors). He spent a lot of time explaining things and was very knowledgeable. We signed a maintenance contract for 2 more visits - hopefully Sean will be the one to do them in the future. read more

This companies service technicians Frank and Jess Stopped and said they had a minute did we need a hand. Frank shoved so fast that we were loaded up in nothing flat.
