I mention this because even though nutrition is probably 75% of the day to day in health and weight loss, this place certainly helped me get to where I am now. Snap was the first real gym I ever visited, and though I've tried a few other places over the last two years I've settled back in where I started. A well equipped gym is an invaluable tool and Snap covers all the basics. To the left of the entrance are five each of treadmills and elliptical machines, as well as three stationary bikes. The back left corner has a smith machine, a plate loading leg press and a machine leg press (and usually the scale is hiding back there too). Left of center are five or so different machines for biceps, triceps, and shoulders. Dead center is a large machine that has two cable pulleys and a lat pull down all in one, and directly behind that is an assisted pull up / assisted dip machine, with the restrooms right next to that. Right of center is the majority of the free weights. There are two dumbbell racks going up to pairs of 100lbs, a rack of fix weight curl bars (also up to 100lbs), five or six different benches, and three plate loading machines, one each for calves, chest and shoulders. Far right wall, starting in the front moving back we have a small nook with 5 different abdominal machines. Next is one squat rack and one bench press with an open floor space typically used for dead lifts or box jumps. Almost to the back there is a single rowing machine then the "studio" area. This back area is a wooden floor with a big mirror running along one side, a long metal frame over top with 3 separate pull up bars, a small rack with some 5lbs-25lbs weights, a slightly larger rack with kettle bells (up to 50lbs maybe?) as well as storage for foam rollers, yoga mats and resistance bands. This is also the area they hold the Intensity group fitness classes. Snap Fitness really is a nice place to get a workout in. On top of all the equipment they offer personal training sessions and group fitness classes if you need a little help. The staff is pretty good at keeping the place clean and putting in work orders should something need fixing. There are a few things I wish were different here though, most notably only having one squat rack, one bench press station and only single stall restrooms. Unfortunately those things are mostly a space issue. There was a time when I hoped they would absorb the vacant space next door and expand, but it seems that opportunity has come and gone. I'll just have to settle for really good instead of perfect.

They thought of everything from nutrition to massages & stretching. I truly appreciate the holistic approach that they aim for because a lot of gyms could feel like a "one-size-fits-all" methodology. I revisited YVY by trying one of their public classes, which was yoga. I'm not a yogi, but I was sold when I saw how attentive the instructor was. Her gentle approach made me want to come back because she gave me a space to just be a beginner at a practice that I'm not familiar with and she truly met me where I was at. They also offer wellness events where you get to explore other vendors throughout the CLT wellness space as well as get a feel for what their gym offers. What I really appreciate about my 1st week there was even before starting me off with workouts, they performed an assessment to see where I'm at. They highlighted my strengths as well as my areas for improvement. This highlights their uniqueness as a slew of gyms skip this crucial step and push you right into exercises, which can lead to injuries. I would recommend it here if you're looking for accountability coaches that want to take your fitness to the next level! Definitely worth checking out!

The classes vary during the week and include upper body, lower body and core days. It really gets your blood going! The staff is amazing and keeps you motivate me and moving! Shoutout to Moth! Located in the NoDa/Villa Heights neighborhood on Davidson St, it's a great spot to take a class. The classes start every 10 mins with constant rotations that allow you to jump in and keep moving. Parking is available in front or in the rear of the building. I would suggest Sweat 440 to anyone looking for a great 40 min workout that will show results!

Classes start every 10 minutes so there is a constant flow of people ahead of and behind you, and the gym always feels full. The trainers keep you motivated too. I've seen plenty of trainers in my visits, but Moth is the constant. She has pushed me from day one and it's the kind of motivation you need to make it through a tough workout. Music playlist is always good and they have a variety of equipment in rotation - sleds, TRX, benches, bikes, medicine balls, skiErg and more. You'll find that there are upper body, lower body, core and full body classes each week but the workouts change daily. Parking is in the rear of the building.

Don't worry about others watching you, you'll be too busy encouraging yourself to get through each "Block" to focus on anyone else but yourself. However, once the "Block" is over, you're high-fiving everyone because you know you just KILLED IT! Everyone there is so nice too! It really helps to have the Coaches call you by name and encouraging you. You know they are watching to ensure you're performing the move correctly and will provide assistance, if necessary. But you know they are watching so even when you feel like stopping, you dig deep to find more energy to keep on going. I've saved THEE BEST part of the workout for last. After you've left all you have to give on that floor, someone comes around with ICE COLD face towels!!! Those towels are everything! They are neatly rolled and given to you with tongs as if they are the most precious items in the building. And they would be...if you weren't there!

She worked the room in there this morning. She is attentive to everyone by constantly having her head on swivel to make sure you are doing your workouts correctly and safely! This is important to me as l've been at places that just let you do anything and don't correct poor form!! That climber almost took me to Glory, but I made it. Very awkward this time around on the climber, but I'm sure it'll get better over time. Today was the single sided class and I did enjoy it overall. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be in terms of survival haha! The toughest part for me had to be the climber, not gonna lie. You definitely will leave drenched in sweat. I brought in a towel to wipe the sweat constantly. I knew it would be hardcore when I saw how soaked everyone was from the previous class. But overall loved it here. Feels good to be back in this space with a new face lift.
