I told the manager Jesse about the unsanitary and unsafe conditions of the sauna over a week ago and he had an attitude and was dismissive saying he didn't have anything to do with that. He said he would pass it on to the person that is responsible but it's been over a week and it looks the same..also I read a similar post from 5 months ago so I guess they don't care. Sauna has looked like this for months but has gotten even worse over the last few weeks. This sauna should be shut down until it is meeting standards. This is a public health concern. I've been here for months. If your signing up to use there amenities such as the pool or jacuzzi DONT. The jacuzzi is always broken or not able to be used. Every couple weeks its down. And it's always down for weeks. When your spending $40/50 for membership it sucks to not be able to take advantage of what you paid for when all the other extras you can get at another gym for a $10 membership. upside... Staff is always nice and does their best to be helpful. read more

Been going here for over a year and it's ok. I've been to other locations around the country so I have something to compare this one to and I'll say they can do better. They cut spin classes and offer nothing better to replace it. The locker room is always a mess and needs to be cleaned and the employees do nothing but sit at the desk. I recently learned that the well-being program I am enrolled in enables membership at this gym. I stopped in for a tour and guest visit and fell in love! I used to live much closer to this gym and was so sad that it didn't open before I moved. It's still a short drive away and the amenities totally make it worth the drive. The pool alone made me want to join. Inside the facility is shiny and new and it is huge! There's plenty of equipment - treadmills, bikes, stairsteppers, cable machines, benches, etc. there are also plenty of free weights, benches, presses and a large training area where you find even more items to enhance your workout including a sled, TRX equipment and mats. Inside the locker room there are plenty of lockers, plenty of showers, a spa pool and sauna. There's a back hallway to the pool and a shower outside of the pool where you can rinse off. The pool has 3 lanes that range from 3' to 4'6" and it is heated. There are just a couple of cons I've noticed so far. One is that the functional trainers are VERY popular. There are 3 of them and you will literally find people waiting in line at any given time to use them. That's annoying for various reasons, like having to wait at all. The other issue is that the gym doesn't provide wipes to sanitize the equipment. In this COVID environment that's really needed. They have several dispensers with a foam sanitizer and paper towels but that's not the most efficient for wiping down machines and gym equipment. I did notice a handful of spray bottles but it seems that people collect those when they arrive and keep them close. Wipes would easily solve this problem. Guess I'll have to bring my own. read more

The place is top tier for day time and afternoon usage. The quality dwindles down by night time as there is a lack of proper maintenance from gym staff. I do not blame them entirely as they are typically short staffed by the end of the night and patrons need to do their due diligence in keeping the place clean. Overall still the best quality gym for the money. We have had memberships with YMCA, Crunch, Planet, Fitness Connection, and this remains the best overall gym in the North Charlotte region by a LONG stretch The pool when well kept is a gem. The sauna when monitored is hot and great for post work out. Ultimately all the machines here are working and get repaired in a timely manner. Gym etiquette really depends on the time of day but you do have a couple of morons who grunt shirtless and record with a tripod every so often that needs to be asked to follow the rules. Management should do their due diligence in explaining and reminding the patrons of these rules to encourage a comfortable environment for EVERY paying member read more

To my understanding they just opened a year ago so it's not very busy like other gyms in the area! Which is good if you don't like a big crowd. I'm just visiting so I was able to sign up for a 3 day trial, you sign up and scan your pass by email. They offer a kids club, swimming pool, sauna & a spa in each locker room, a sitting area with a television, cardio equipment, free weights, aerobics room, spin room, and also an area in the middle for crossfit/circuits. It was a good experience but it's pricey compared to what I pay for a gym in Las Vegas ($144 a year) and that includes a indoor track, unisex sauna in the pool area, steam rooms, a cafe, and towel service. Keep in mind it is new so MAYBE prices will go down? read more

Pros: Lots of cardio equipment Cycling Studio Heated indoor pool with entry assistance Water aerobics Swim classes (ask for details) Sauna Whirlpool Kids club Instructor lead fitness classes Reasonable membership price Open at 5AM most mornings Cons: The waiter from the fountain tastes gross to me I'd like to see staff sweeping and cleaning the equipment, (some members wipe equipment before and after use) locker room and restrooms more frequently. Parking may get tight as membership expands I'd like to see more lighting in the parking lot at night I have gone in the morning prior to 8 AM and the afternoon during lunchtime and the gym was not overly crowded. The personal training zone is open for anyone to use so long as PT is not using it for a session. It includes Battle Ropes, Trx System, Plyo Boxes Weighted Sled, Bosu Balls and a stretching area. I noticed vending machines with snacks There is plenty of cardio equipment including treadmills, ellipticals, stair climbers, bikes and rowing machines. The Free weights section is spacious and the Dumbbells go up to about 110Lbs. If you're hot natured like me, you'll appreciate the many fans and cool temperatures. Overall - acceptable & mostly enjoyable with this location staffs, after 4 months being a member at LA FITNESS - 3024 PROSPERITY CHURCH ROAD UNIT A - CHARLOTTE, NC 28269. The only major disappointment for many members including me is that: Then Men Sauna Heater Has Been Down for more than 6 weeks as of today, Tue-Aug 12, 2025. Many repeated EXCUSES - BLAMBING & no solid Solution from various staffs. read more

The center in Ballantyne is absolutely filthy. I have been a member for a few years and have seen this site decline steadily. They lack in customer service, are constantly short-staffed, and due to the lack of site management, there isn't anyone on site that knows anything about when equipment might be repaired; they always say parts are on order. The classes are miserably managed. They change the class schedule without even telling the instructors. The ONLY reason I stay there is because of two instructors and two classes. There used to be many more classes, but who knows why they have reduced them to just a few. No one can tell me anything. And if you try to reach out to management (they don't manage the classes locally--they are based in Florida) no one gets back to you. Skip joining here if you can find somewhere else better. I have just been a victim of a major injustice and I never thought that this would happen in a gym. On Sunday October 12th. I came to this gym to workout , after my cardio I used the sauna for about 15 minutes when I stepped out on picking up my car keys on the chair at the front of the sauna I mistakenly picked someone's AirPods. When I got in my car and was about to leave someone followed me and threatened to hit me if I didn't return his stolen AirPod, I obviously told him I didn't but this person insisted and while searching around I realized I picked his by mistake. So I apologized and return these, he got mad, took my AirPods and threw them on the roof of a nearby building. This person was very aggressive and trying to start a fight so I immediately called the police. The police didn't respond for 2 hour due to high 911 calls and more emergency matters. While waiting I went in the gym and tried to explain the situation, this person kept threatening me . I left and went to the police and pressed charges. Just to wake up today to my membership being cancelled. When I go back to the gym to inquire about the situation I am told that they cancelled it because I also tried to steal someone's bag. I was very very confused. I don't know if the people who work here are part of this whole sham or if the guy used a friend of his to lie on his behalf I am more than confused. Obviously I wasn't around when these allegations on bag stealing were made and I couldn't defend myself. I have never been so humiliated and mistreated in my whole life. Love this gym!! I go here during the summer and Christmas breaks whenever I am home from college. The ratio of cardio equipment to lifting equipment is actually great, which is extremely difficult to find in a commercial gym. The staff is always very friendly and the gym is usually clean. The wipes for machines are usually also stocked, which is nice. I have nothing bad to say about this LA fitness. It's a nice gym with lots of open space & natural lighting, which is so nice! read more
