This is the best place for sushi in the Atlantic city area. They have great seating and atmosphere, excellent service and absolutely the best, freshest sushi ( see the pictures attached) the service is attentive, the owner and all the employees are quite nice, you won't be disappointed, I guarantee this. I usually order for apps the tuna tataki, pork goyza, the Kani salad, for sushi the mango dragon. Fancy tuna and rainbow roll, honestly I have had almost all the rolls on the menu and they are all superbly made and delicious. Rather than eating in a casino, I suggest you get in your car and driver 10 minutes and come here for dinner, they also allow you to bring your own beer and wine in to have with your meal. This is such a fun place to do hibachi but even more fun to eat in in their no shoes area which makes dining a fun and traditional experience and was very immersive and enjoyable! Took a chance on trying a new sushi place that delivers to Ventnor. I'm disappointed to say I would never order again or recommend to anyone. I ordered sushi, various rolls, and the honey siracha chicken wings. The sauce on the chicken wings was tasty, but the quality of the chicken was terrible. After I took a bite and actually saw the chicken under the fried breading, I could not eat anymore of them. The quality of the sushi was very poor. All had a slightly off taste and you could tell from the texture, it was not high quality. Ended up throwing away 75% of what I ordered. Would not recommend. read more

Excellent sushi, I go here all the time when I'm in Atlantic city. The service is also very good, the staff and owner are all very nice and helpful when you dine here. I had tried a lot of sushi places down here, and this is the only place that serves real authentic sushi in the area. It's BYOB as far as alcohol goes. This makes it even more appealing. The hibachi and hot food are also very good, and the guy that works the hibachi is quite entertaining and also a very nice person. I can't say enough about this place. Omg this place was amazing! Stuffed deep fried avocado, shrimp tempura, fried rice and great service. This was little ways drive from the shore but it was totally worth it and probably some of the best sushi I've had in town so far. COVID update. Haven't had sushi in so long and couldn't wait any longer. Got sushi last night at Mount Fuji and it was delicious. I got the Fire Ball roll and Spider Roll. The Spider roll was huge. I guess to get all the softshell crab inside. Their take out system is good and seems very safe as they have a plastic screen to separate the customer from the restaurant in order to collect the payment and give out the orders. read more

Had an absolutely wonderful lunch at Mount Fuji the other day at the recommendation of another friend. We were the only group in the place when we first arrived last Sunday so the service was perfect. I can not comment to crowded periods. Upon entering the décor is very warm with a lot of wood. There are small tables to the left where you can kneel & eat but these old knees wouldn't stand for that so we chose a table. It is nice that you have the option. I ordered a bowl of the miso soup which came out hot & tasty. Next I ordered the cowboy roll which had small strips of steak over the slices of sushi. It was different than any sushi I had had before & I totally enjoyed it. My daughter ordered the black pearl roll which had crabmeat in it. I thought the crabmeat made it a bit mushy for me but it tasted great & she enjoyed it. Our other friend ordered the general tso chicken lunch which came with soup & salad. I could not believe the amount of food she had! I've seen a few complaints on yelp stating their prices are high. I did not find that at all. Our delicious lunch cost us all of $52 which I found to be very reasonable. I highly recommend Mount Fuji & look forward to returning. read more

The cold winter winds were tossing the lunch special sign in the air but what a welcoming sight on a cold Saturday afternoon .... Lunch specials Monday through Saturday ... I was smiling even before opening the doors of this incredibly impressive Japanese dining experience on the White Hose Pike in Absecon. When your eyes adjust to the lighting you will discover an impressively decorated restaurant whose wood interior makes you feel that you are in a special place. There are carefully placed hibachi tables where chefs ploy their entertaining ways for happy diners especially the young ones. There are sunken booths where the shoes need to be removed before you sit in comfort. And, then there are really nice tables placed in a pattern that allows each dining group to feel they have their own space. Even the men's room was special with fresh flowers and a floral scent in the immaculately clean facility. The second sign of the warmth of this was the greeting ... The manger greeted us as did his staff. They smiled and we smiled. The shooting star of the experience was our waitress, Michelle, who remembered what had been ordered on a previous dining experience and whose guidance throughout the afternoon was greatly appreciated. She even suggested an appetizer for our next visit ... You see, she knew that a warm welcome encourages repeat business and yes, I will order the crunchy shrimp appetizer next time. There were quite a few deep discount lunch specials and our table went in two directions ... BENTO BOX and a hibachi scallop lunch special. I added a SUNSHINE ROLL (Tuna, yellowtail, and scallions). The "classic" Japanese salad had crisp greens and carrot pieces. There was crunch amidst the salad dressing that didn't stand out but was good. The Miso Soup was more than a cloud in a bowl of hot flavored water. This Miso was above average and a good choice on a cold day. My roll was fresh and that is what matters when it comes to sushi. The fish blend worked and added to the start of the meal (I should note that the Sunshine roll was so good that I ordered one of their special rolls (Charlie's Angels) for take out but it hasn't been eaten yet.). I was very impressed with my scallop hibachi lunch. A impressive blend of veggies, several good tasting scallops, some fresh crisp greens, and friend rice that tasted like fried rice but not once did I taste the fried part. Megan enjoyed her chicken teriyaki bento box whose contents were filling. Mount Fugi was an easy FIVE STAR rating ... Whether it is for lunch with family, friends or co-workers or a dinner when you want to impress your dining partner this Japanese restaurant will work well for you! Gross. I had to sit at a table and not the hibachi like I wanted. Although might have been a blessing. I got filet and chicken. They put teriyaki all over my filet. I was so upset. I was so hungry and just wanted like a Benihana's experience. Especially paying $30-35 a plate. My daughter asked to eat at Mt Fuji to celebrate her 13th birthday. The food was freshly prepared by our funny/pleasant hibachi chef. The service was good and got our requests quickly. They are honest... My daughter had a stack of gift cards she received for her birthday. Later that night she realized she must have dropped them somewhere. When I called the next morning to ask if they were found there they said yes. So happy they were honest and my daughter was able to collect her bday gifts back...when they could just have used them. Tried this restaurant in town and we were ready for disappointment..being we moved here from Ca and have been quite spoiled with authentic Japanese restaurants there. But with the first look of the place..we were pleasantly surprised. Very clean looking..open concept room plenty of seating.. booths if you want to take your shoes off and pretend you are in Japan.. We ordered the Beef Teriyaki and Shrimp Tempura. It comes with Miso soup and salad. Must admit..all was very good.. Only the beef could have been cooked med rare instead of med..but maybe the waiter didnt hear my man's request. The Shrimp was excellent and the veggies too. Very lightly battered and lovely presentation on dish. I would have given them a 5 star review, but I just couldnt this time around. Only because we've been spoiled by Azuma in Gardena Ca.. This will be a long one because I have frequented many a sushi restaurant on the Absecon Island, offshore towns, and Egg Harbor Township and out of all of them, this is the one I have chosen as my favorite. Out of Yama (fusion) in Ventnor, Sakura in Egg Harbor Township, Osaka in Egg Harbor Township, Ginza in Egg Harbor Township, Ginza II in Egg Harbor Township, Izakaya (Fusion) in Atlantic City, Sushi Town in Northfield, Fiji in Linwood, Bay Ave Sushi in Somers Point, and the Sushi Buffet in Mays Landing, Mt. Fuji in Absecon stays the most culturally sound despite none of these restaurants actually being consistently staffed with Japanese people. In this area, Japanese "style" sushi-faring restaurants are a cultural mix of prominently Chinese workers, but this doesn't really mean anything. You can get some great sushi despite the lack of "authenticity" or what-not. Mt. Fuji, for me, is the most pleasurable setting with the attentiveness of the servers and the atmosphere a delightful, very clean, wood-paneled scene. Out of all of the sushi places in this area, Mt. Fuji actually has an acceptable number of tables and chairs to accommodate the rapidly-growing interest in sushi restaurants. The wait, if any, is short. My preference is a booth which offers a very intimate dining experience that can comfortably fit up to five people. The hostess, Jackie, is friendly and helpful and will be sure to remember you. I have never felt rushed and have never been treated inconsiderately. Understanding waitstaff is a little difficult at times, but for the most part, out of the six years that I've been dining here, there have been little-to-no errors on my order. For the reviewer who had an experience with food being taken away too soon (this of course is never acceptable in any Western culture) it is actually proper sushi etiquette on the guests' part to always leave something on the plate, to never clean the plate of every last piece, because it shows the chef that you have had enough to eat. But blah blah blah etiquette, blah....this is America and we clean our plates here. I just offer this explanation as a way to understand why the servers may seem a little brisk about collecting plates. This is their culture. At dinner times, things can get extremely noisy and if you're not into that then I don't recommend Mt. Fuji on a Saturday evening. (I personally enjoy an action-packed sushi place, because it makes me feel like things are churning constantly and always fresh) Sashimi is fantastic. So smooth, fresh, and delicious. I enjoy beef negimaki and shumai, as well as pork gyoza. The sauce that comes with the pork gyoza garnished with chives is fantastic and refreshing especially when the dish is PIPING hot. For an appetizer, I highly recommend the Eggplant Hasami. This is to die for. The eggplant is tender and smothered in a sauce that I could drink straight. This dish is the perfect balance of sodium and texture. What I like to stay away from: the vegetable tempura appetizer isn't that great. The seaweed salad is okay. Miso soup nothing spectacular. Still, the classic iceburg lettuce salad is pretty decent because the ginger salad dressing is delicious. It's really hard for me to say anything bad about this place. As far as sushi rolls go, the Atlantic Roll is always delicious (like a fried Philly Roll) and Mt. Fuji offers a style of tempura on this roll that I haven't seen in many other places. The texture is different: perfectly crispy with a depth to it, not greasy at all. Also, any eel roll is fantastic, especially paired with scallions. A-1 Special roll is great with the yellowtail and avocado. This place is more traditional and less fusion (none of their rolls come with American cheese or iceburg, as I've seen in another places around here). They offer a refreshing, delightful sliced orange at the end to cleanse the palate. The decorative aspect of the plating has set the bar for all other sushi places for me...they have fantastic presentation almost every time. Dishes are beautiful. I love this place. For hibachi it's fantastic fun to BYOB and a party of 20. I've brought huge parties in here with no issues, they've always been able to accommodate up to par. So there are only a select few japanese restaurants in the galloway area. The reason I came to this place is because it is closer to my mom's house. Located right on route 30, this restaurant is pretty decent in size. There are about 6 japanese style booths along the wall with plenty of tables in the middle. The hibachi tables are on the far left. I actually really like that the hibachi tables are on the back wall of the room rather than the center of the room. The evening that I was there, I ran into an obnoxious hibachi table of customers celebrating what seems to be a birthday. It almost seemed like they owned the restaurant and disregarded everyone else in the room which I found rather annoying. I ordered the chicken hibachi while my friend had the salmon and steak hibachi. Their hibachi was good, did not disappoint. However, compared to sakura, they are far from exceeding my expectations. Their sushi is pretty good, decent fresh. As for the service, this time, there was a waitress that exceeded my expectations as I normally don't expect much when it comes to service here. I wish I remembered her name but she was very nice, tentative, and served with a smile on her face. Most of the time, the waitresses here just take your order with barely any expressions on their face. I'd normally choose sakura over this place but location did it for me this time. read more

I drank the miso soup like water; there was barely any miso and tiny shreds of tofu. Fried rice was edible with tons of onions for some reason. Overall, I wouldn't order again. Our Pad Thai smelled like it was left over and had been stored in the refrigerator too long, not fresh. Tempura was nice and crisp, but had no taste. Beef was under cooked, almost raw, but after a few minutes in the microwave it was edible.
