This was a Great stop and phenomenal food and service. The food is amazing, the staff is helpful and attentive. I came for dinner, most plates are less than $15. The menu is expansive. I had Pakora and Butter Chicken. They had dessert but I did not have any space for more food. Be sure to come to Mehak to have a great meal with a smile. Mehak is a little gem in South Riding. A tiny no frills restaurant that spits out great and succulent food. One word of caution is that the food is rich and creamy. If you are on a diet then go eat a salad. The butter chicken they make is heavenly. 5 pieces of chicken breast morsels bathing in a orange/red gravy. Eat it with garlic naan and spinach paneer and you have a meal fit for a Maharajah. An added bonus is Mehak will always put a small sweet dish or dessert in your takeout meal as a way to say thanks. read more

It's by far our favorite Indian place in northern Virginia. The saag dishes are particularly delicious and the chicken korma is so savory.

So excited about having an Indian restaurant right in the neighborhood now. Ever since Rangoli left we've been hoping a new one would open up. The buffet is simple but just right and the price can't be beat. My wife and I both agree that the food was a 4 but the service is a 5. The service was fantastic and they were very attentive. The butter chicken was good but the chicken was a little dry for me. Everything else tasted great and the whole family enjoyed it. We'll definitely be coming back. read more

Mehak was my favorite Punjabi restaurant for past few years. That changed today with a horrible experience. Ordered chana bhatura, daal makhani and kofta. I've ordered these exact items several times from here over the past few years. I could tell it's prepared by another chef. Everything tasted quite bad. Daal and kofta was overloaded with cream to the point where I could not take more than 1 bite. Chole bhature was edible but nowhere near as nice as it's been in the past. Mehak is AMAZING! The food here is literally so good. I tried it based on the reviews and it was right on. We have order Mehak takeout about every 3 weeks. Our go-to order is: chicken vindaloo (spicy), chicken vindaloo (mild for my son), samosa chaat, and 4 butter naans. I have tried their butter chicken and didn't really like it. I'm not sure if I'm not a butter chicken fan, but the chicken vindaloo packs so much flavor and a ton of spice! read more

Delicious food and friendly staff! We ordered two chicken entrees and one vegetarian entree and all three came out perfect in all ways you can critique (the cute serving bowls, the delicious smells, the food didn't look greasy or oily, and they all tasted amazing). In terms of portions, even though we both were full we tried to finish all three entrees because they were THAT GOOD, but for the sake of our bellies we stopped and had about a quarter of each to take home. For me, the portion sizes are appropriate for the price. If I could describe this restaurant in one word it would be "home." I highly recommend Mehak Indian Restaurant! FLAWLESS! I have visited the lovely people at Mehak Indian Rest 2 times and the good has been just PERFECT! The chefs come out and chat with you, the space es CLEAN, food is delicious. Yesterday we had Goat Curry and Chicken Soka with their perfect rice and naan. WOW. Last week we had fried fish appetizer, more naan ( there is no such thing as too much naan) and chicken tikka masala. Been to this place couple of times before covid and the food was OK. Decided to try again and was surprisingly delighted with the food which was very delicious. We tried four different dishes and they were all very delicious. It seems that they are using fresh and quality ingredients to cook. Went there for the buffet a little while back, and the price was super cheap! Although the selection of food is limited compared to most Indian buffets, each was amazing. It's definitely a quality over quantity deal. The naan was fresh and delicious as well. The staff was also super friendly. We came somewhat late for lunch time so the food was running a little low, but the staff on hand readily assured us they would make some fresh food, which they quickly did. First time eating Indian food for one of our quarantined household members so we decided to introduce him to a place we'd only been to once. It did not disappoint. He ordered chicken curry and ate it all. We got our standard to share: chicken korma and palak paneer. My college-age daughter said the palak paneer was the best she'd had. And they all loved the garlic naan as well. I make cauliflower rice as a substitute to lower the carbs and all of the dishes were fabulous with that as the base. If you know you know... Hidden gem with amazing food and excellent service. The owner is a hardworking individual and it shows in the quality of the food. We went for dinner but will definitely be coming back. Butter chicken was A+. Chicken seek kebab was a bit on the spicier side. Malai kofta and kadhai paneer were very tasty too. Great restaurant overall although the interior is a bit lacking, but I'm sure it will get better as time goes on. I have never been disappointed with Mehak's food. Flavorful, not very creamy, great breads, and above all a great service. The prices are competitive and so are the quantities served. Overall, highly recommended. read more
