This is some of the freshest chinese food I have had in a long time. The boneless spareribs were thick & juicy, the chicken fingers were hot & fresh. Large chunks of pork in the fried rice. HUGE EGG ROLL! The lobster sauce was Devine. It reminds me of the delicious chinese I would get with my sister as a child downtown Boston in the 80's. We tried this neighborhood spot when we were looking for quick but good Chinese food. We've been here before and so we were okay to return. The food was good. The chicken teriyaki sticks are pretty good and so is the pork fried rice. The are no other vegetables in the friend rices unless you order bean sprouts, which was a little disappointing, but the rice was good. You can taste the sauce, which is a little salty but still good. The small portion is enough for 1.5 -servings, especially if you order an additional protein or veggie. My boyfriend's meal combo was a great deal. He got the sweet and sour chicken, shrimp fried rice, crab Rangoon and chicken wings. First thing I noticed was that the chicken wings were a nice sized whole wing that wasn't breaded with flour and they were really good. The serving size for everything in the combo seemed to be decent and definitely 2 servings. I would for sure go back for the chicken wings. Called in for takeout. The guy was very aggressive on the phone with not even a greeting or thanks at end of order. Went in to pickup the food and experienced even worse. People before me weren't greeted or spoken to with respect. A customer picking up food was the one that thanked the big guy at register and said good night. There wasn't a response at all from the host. My turn came and he asked, can I help you? I told him my name, he was not paying attention nor looked at me. He asked again, and I pointed to the order as I could see my phone number on the bag. I payed, he threw my change on the counter and walked away. Stay away!!! Worst Chinese food I ever had and bland! I ordered crab Rangoon, ribs, lo mein combo and mushrooms in oyster sauce. It was on the free deliver section on uber eats. How dare they call this lo mein, the noodles were flat and nothing like lo mein noodles. I was truly disappointed as I was craving lo mein. That is not even the worst part... everything was bland. I was starving so I was able to atleast eat half the meal only after drenching everything in hot sauce and soy sauce. Completely standard, Americanized Chinese food takeout joint. And that's ok, they aren't trying to be anything fancy and that is why I've been so loyal over the years. There are few places that offer combo plates for dinner that are still under $7 for a massive amount of food. I've been somewhat bad and I'm almost always drawn to them because of the value they offer here. A cold, winter night and you don't want to venture out but have food for the next three days? Mei-Lings is on speed dial for that. Because there isn't really anything special here, it's tough to give them more than 3 stars. Three little polygons shouldn't be looked down upon because they are doing almost everything decently. Occasionally, the fried batter on your shrimp is limp or the pork fried rice tastes a bit on the burnt side (they must use some of the darkest soy sauce possible because the batches are almost black-looking). There isn't a ton of ginger/garlic flavor in the rice and they skimp on the egg.....but it's adequate. The teriyaki beef on a stick is a go to here and should be added to any meal you order. Succulent and always cooked to perfection, rarely dried out. The soups I am a little disappointed by, the broths are flavorless and no discerning qualities between all of the offerings, meaning they pretty much all taste the same no matter what you buy. As mentioned before, fried goodies can be hit or miss. I need to try some of the chef specialties but some of those are almost double the price of the combo plates. There may be two or three booths here but I've never actually sat, always take out or delivery. For two people looking to have a quiet, movie night at home can easily walk out of here with a bill less than $20 and about that when tip is included if you had it brought to your door. Orders are ready in just 10 minutes and delivery has never once been an issue in terms of timeliness and service. Plus they take credit cards which is a huge bonus in my book. I know I can't give a place 3.5 stars but that's really what it is and it is a great and quick takeout place in my local hood with pretty easy parking on Salem St. right out front. read more

This place is a 10! To be honest I don't really love Chinese food but my husband does so we get it occasionally. I think we'll get it more now that we've found Mei-Ling! We did delivery via Uber eats but would've preferred to order through the restaurant but our zone was outside the area. However, everything came piping hot and was absolutely delicious! We tried Mei-Ling for the first time when I got home late and all of our stand-by delivery restaurants were closed. I'm usually hesitant to order from new restaurants because I have a really sensitive GI system and often get really sick if food is badly prepared or just too much along the lines of greasy take-out. Mei-Ling had pretty good reviews, though, so we gave them a shot. Delivery was right on time. We got a couple appetizers (scallion pancakes and chicken fingers) and I got myself some chicken lo mein. The lo mein was very good--not too greasy and not slimy or anything, and the scallion pancakes were crispy and flavorful. My husband loved the chicken fingers; he said whenever he gets them from other places, he ends up regretting it, but not these ones. Plus, now he's obsessed with the mustard sauce they come with. Hello all, I order food from here all the time and they were great. I just had a situation where they were three hours late for a delivery that I had to call multiple times to even get them to make the order and start cooking it. They said there was a problem with the computers. This is okay. The part that I am not okay with is that I said, well if this was a restaurant, the meal would be paid for by the house or At least half of it. I asked if we could get something on the house and they argued with me saying no??!!! The order was for over a hundred bucks and I've spent thousands here. It's upsetting that this is the service that they provide and curious how no one has ever taught the owners and managers how to appropriately run a business. This is beyond me.
