    Beef not cooked !!

Half way through my meal found this beef not cooked !!! How can this happen please make sure to check your food before it goes in your mouth !

Wonton noodle soup - underneath noodles is bean sprouts and chives!
    Alan C.

Tucked away in back of the 99 Asian Market food court is this little establishment that has colorful photos of the menu items you can order. A friend recommended the wonton noodle soup and I see fellow yelpers also agreeing to this choice as well. I've got to admit, the wonton noodle soup was a hit with me. I was surprised at the pepper thrown on top but it adds a nice round flavor to the soup and definitely wouldn't mind having some more of it. Everything was a bit different than what I had expected: - Wontons were a little smaller than your Chinatown wontons. There was pork meatball style filling with shrimp. Flavorful and good. Although 1 or 2 didn't have shrimp in it, but I didn't mind too much. - Additional chives on bottom of soup was a nice surprise for me since I'm a big fan of chives. - Loved the dried onion/garlic bits on top. Really gave a nice boost of flavor to the taste Overall, will go back and try again. Also for the first timers, once you're finished, just leave your dirty bowls/dishes on the table and walk off. They have someone who cleans and disposes the guests dishes/tables. Don't worry, you're not being a snob if you don't help, that's just how they do it there.

Best Chinese food around! If you go shopping at 99 Asian Supermarket you must stop here for lunch. Friendly, super fast, always hot and always delicious. We always get the beef chow foon. Also love the short ribs and the chicken and rice dish. The only dish I wouldn't get again are the fried chicken wings. Enjoy!

I have only tried one dish at lucky fast food, and I really loved it! I tried the seafood noodle soup which consists of cuttlefish, fish cake and fish balls with rice noodles in a clear broth. It was just warm soupy goodness that I couldn't get enough of. There is not much to say about the fish cake and fish balls as I doubt they make it themselves, but I really like how the noodles were not overcooked. This is a really affordable and quick option if you are around the area. I am excited to try the other dishes!

This place is so good. Mom and pop place with the best food! The wonton noodle soup is awesome. The beef chow foon is awesome. The grilled chicken with lemon grass is also awesome. They sometimes sell out of food if you go too late in the evening.

I believe this restaurant just opened over the weekend. It's one of four restaurants in 99 Asian Supermarket's Food Court. Currently only two of the restaurants were open, I'm guessing the other two will open by next weekend? At any rate it was busy, lots of people sitting down enjoying large bowls of noodle soup (Pho/Guay tiew style with bean sprouts, sweet basil, mint leaves etc ). I think they list these under their breakfast section because it's commonly eaten for breakfast in many Asian countries. I will have to sit down and have the soup my next visit. This time i got the Grilled Lemongrass Sliced Pork over Rice to go. It was a huge portion for the price of $7 and it was quite good...not oily or too salty. Friendly service as well. They also have pre-cooked offerings. I posted menu pics.

The quality of the food, price and quantity is amazing! I ordered the Hu Tieu Sate #13 on the menu and I can't stop telling people about it. My dad said it was similar to how they make it back home in Vietnam. The broth was hot and spicy and the meat was super tender. It comes with peanuts, so if you dont like it you can opt out or ask for it on the side like i did. Its a cute little family owned restaurant that makes quick and amazing food in a supermarket food court. DEFINITELY A MUST TRY IF YOU HAVEN'T YET!

I forgot how swanky looking the place was, and that still impressed. -- Egg Rolls: Cradled in a wicker basket, crisp on the outside, celery, and pork on the inside, a bit dry, but good flavor. A little above average. -- Spare Ribs on the bone: Painted on every surface with a nice char to complement the glaze. A thicker cut than most. Just like last time, they looked like a reheat, but still had very good texture (tender, moist) and decent enough flavor. Above average. -- Pork Egg Foo Yong: A trio of thick patties flooded with light brown sauce. Good crispness underneath. Soft and tender with big chunks of pork that wasn't dried out. Good overall flavor from the fry, the onions, and the pork, as well as the sauce. Near-elite to elite. -- Kung Pao Chicken: A little different here, with much larger shreds of chicken, a little darker than most, less celery and peanuts than most, a profusion of peppers, and pleasing spiciness to the soy-based sauce. Very enjoyable. Above average to well above average. -- Peking Noodles: A little different, and in a good way. More of a fine shred than a crumble, much spicier, and a little gloppier. Good feel to the egg noodles. I don't get this dish often enough to compare, but I enjoyed it. No OMG moments, but no complaints. Solid lunch, flavorful entrees, and I departed with a higher opinion than before. Upping to 4 stars.

The space is decently sized but not huge so expect a wait on the weekend. On a Saturday at 11 we were quoted a 30 minute wait for 7 people but only ended up waiting maybe 15 or so. Highlights: - beef chow fun (dry) - great wok hei flavor and they didn't skimp on meat. - pan fried turnip cake - crispy on all sides vs. just top and bottom that you usually see. Cut thicker too so you get more of the soft inside. - beancurd sheet roll with pork and shrimp - tender and flavorful. The sauce they have on the outside is delish and the beancurd texture was nice. - taro puff with pork - light and crispy on the outside. The taro itself was soft and custardy. It didn't eat heavy even though it's deep fried. Just ok: - steamed rice roll with shrimp - sauce was just ok and the rice roll was a little thick. - Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce - the sauce was very thin. I'm used to a thicker more flavorful sauce that holds to the broccoli better. But the broccoli was cooked well. Service really left a lot to be desired. We constantly had to flag people down and they really made it feel like we were bothering them. They missed an item on our order and it took a while for them to correct it. Only street parking but it's not hard to find a spot and it's only $1 an hr.

Friendly service. -- Chongqing Style Spicy Chicken: The classic dish with as many red chile peppers as bite-sized chicken nuggets. Smaller pieces than most, but crisp without being dry, and full of flavor even beyond the spice. Solid. -- Crispy Fried Pork W/ Sweet Sour Sauce: This isn't your daddy's old school Chinese American sweet and sour, and that's a good thing. But first, the pork: thin, flat slices with an even thinner batter reminiscent of tempura-- so light and crispy it crackled like broken glass. The sauce had syrup consistency, golden color instead of the old school red, and more sour than sweet. A spectacular dish if you like sweet and sour, and a good one even if you don't. -- Sautéed Pork Belly with Hot Pepper: Firm slices of pork with so little fat you can eat the whole thing without inspection. The hot peppers weren't so hot, so while this was enjoyable as a simple pork and vegetable dish, it had no spicy flavor pizzaz suggested in the name and evident in similar examples elsewhere. On the other hand, it did have pleasant black bean flavor. -- Sautéed Shredded Beef With Long Horn Pepper: Numerous slivers of tender beef with more of an understated thin gravy than sauce, with the peppers crisp but not that peppery. Mild but substantial. Bonus points for all of the following: - The server coming back and double checking to make sure we still wanted a dish we ordered after letting us know it was cold. - A tablet on the table with the menu showing photos of every dish to assist in ordering decisions. - A municipal parking lot across the street. - Cute branded takeout bags.

My favorite was the braised Japanese tofu and the sweet & sour fish. They debone the whole fish while maintaining a beautiful presentation on the plate. It was fried perfectly and didn't come out soggy even with the sauce on it. I would definitely come back to try more dishes.

TLDR: Potentially…read moreone of my favorite Chinese restaurants in all of Massachusetts! Beautiful interior, centrally located, and delicious, high-quality food. Will definitely find a reason to come back here soon. ------ FOOD: 1. [MUST TRY] STIR-FRIED CABBAGE W/ PORK BELLY (5/5) Presentation was phenomenal (in a clay pot with its own burner underneath to keep it hot). The portion was much larger than expected, and most importantly, it tasted incredible. Generous amounts of pork in this, and the sauce was authentic and addicting. 2. SCALLION CHICKEN (5/5) Another great choice. This was a huge portion with lots of tender chicken, and the scallion was present without being overpowering. 3. CRISPY BEEF WITH FRIED DOUGH STICKS (5/5) I was expecting Chinese you tiao but these were actually the small, ultra crispy manhua twists! Paired with the beef, this was a large and unique dish that I loved. The crispiness of the mahua made this a textural delight to eat. 4. MANGO SAGO DESSERT (5/5) Big portion, wonderful assortment of toppings including grapefruit, mango, sago, and popping balls over a creamy dessert soup base. 5. PEKING DUCK (4/5) I think I'm a tough critic since I just came back from Beijing and had so much Peking duck there. We ordered the half portion here and it had a generous amount of meat for not being the full portion. There were an assortment of accompaniments, including pineapple (new to me) and sugar (like the Beijing style) which were welcome additions. The wrappers were steamed well and didn't curl up on the edges. Overall this was a solid Peking duck, but the meat wasn't as standout as I was hoping. 6. STEAMED PORK SOUP DUMPLING (4/5) Solid soup dumplings. Not the best I've ever had, but definitely hit the spot. 7. SAUTEED PEA SPROUTS (4/5) Another solid classic. 8. PORK MEATBALL IN CRAB MEAT SAUCE (4/5) This was the most unique thing we ordered. I've never had a shi zi tou meatball with crab meat sauce before. The meatball itself was large (maybe size of a tennis ball), tender, and fatty, as it should be. It was then drowned in a generous lake of traditional crab meat sauce. If you're not a fan of crab meat then this might be a bit too fishy for you, but honestly it all combined surprisingly well and I grew to like this dish more and more with each bite. I wasn't the biggest fan to start, but by the end I wouldn't have minded getting another one! ------ AMBIANCE / ENVIRONMENT: * The interior has the classic Asian style of decor, but you can tell it was recently built / renovated because everything felt new and fresh. * The ambiance also felt more new-school luxurious vs. the typical Asian establishments that are more no-frills with as many tables packed in as possible * You're still somewhat close to the tables around you, but it's not overwhelming during lunch time and we still felt like we had enough space regardless * There's a bar area at the front of the restaurant and then a large, spacious dining room in the back * This is a great place for a date or a meaningful family gathering * Right outside is Boston Common, making this restaurant very well-located for lunch before or after a nice day in the park. While there's lots of parking around the park, a spot itself can be hard to come by, so your best bet might be to use the nearby parking garage instead ------ SERVICE: * Overall the service was great and quick. They did forget our tea, but when we asked for it later they apologized profusely and were quick to bring it out for us * This place fills up quickly so be sure to come early if you don't have a reservation or if you're a big enough group, make a reservation for your desired dining time
