I came here again to order another birthday cake. It was easy to order and pick up. Cake was not too sweet, lots of fresh fruit and loved the cream. Sorry no pictures of the cake again. Also ordered some freshly baked bread, such as their hot dog bun, coconut cocktail bun, pineapple bun and bbq pork pineapple bun.

This is our favorite Chinese bakery both for the usual baked snacks (bao, tarts, egg tarts, sesame balls, raisin bread), and their amazing birthday cakes! 8" Cakes are only $25 that are 2-3 layers high with fresh fruit and light whipped cream topping both in the middle and on top. Be warned that their most popular items will often sell out by the late morning or early afternoon, so try to go early or call ahead to have them reserved for later pickup.

Ordered the pandan cake for my mom's birthday and it was delicious! Very light, not too sweet. Everyone loved it!

I've been shopping at the Winco near Mei Sum Bakery for a while now. I didn't even realize this place that I'd seen some good reviews for was right here! It's easy to miss in this little shopping mall. Thanks as always to other Yelpers for pointing out hole in the wall places that are worth checking out. I stopped by around 11am on a weekday, worried they'd be low on stuff. Not so. Of course, I don't know what I may have missed but there was plenty to choose from! I got some old favorites that I knew I would like as well as some things that just looked good. I don't remember the exact numbers but I think I got 6 items for like $11. It was less than I expected! I enjoyed everything I got! I'm not an expert in Asian baked goods so you may be a harsher critic than I. There's plenty more I'd like to come back to try and I'd order some of the same things again.

This is still a solid place to get some quick pastries at a reasonable price. It's best to go earlier to ensure a better selection of items. This visit I had their hot dog bun, bbq pork bun, and a Pineapple bun with taro inside. The selection was minimal as I came later in the day.

Quite a hidden gem. Great selection of well-sized savory Chinese pastries, everything tasted fresh and not like the kind where you know it's been sitting out for days. Really enjoyed the Pineapple BBQ Pork Bun, Pineapple Custard Bun, Egg Tart, Dry Pork Bun. Bring cash with you - otherwise it's a $10 minimum for card. If you're just buying a treat for yourself, you might be surprised how much you're getting once you realize all the pastries are between the $1 to $2 range. Service can be quite sluggish. Even though the staff are quick, customers can take a while to order. Can't blame them entirely though; the pastries are so affordable, how many are you supposed to buy?? Should I save some for breakfast tomorrow? Get a batch for mom? Coming back again next time I'm in Portland :)

Crispy, airy, buttery and oh, so delicate, my raspberry cruffin was the dessert dreams are made of! If you've never had a cruffin... what are you waiting for?! It's croissant dough baked into a muffin shape. And the particular version I ordered today was filled with sweet and creamy vanilla custard and raspberry jelly. My mouth is watering describing this now, a true sign I'll be returning to experience this delicacy time and time again. There are three locations of Twisted Croissant in Portland, and this is the only one I've visited. The interior has a classic Parisian bakery vibe, clad in white subway tile from floor to ceiling. The bakery case in front of the store is beautifully stocked with fresh pastries, perfect for enjoying with a cup of coffee or tea. However, be advised, there are only two tables in the back of their public space, so it's not particularly inviting space to sit and enjoy your breakfast. Given the location, I assume there is outdoor seating in the summer months, but don't quote me on that. Regardless, run here if you haven't been. These baked goods are worth the visit!
