I decided to get Chinese for some clients for lunch. I called in my order and for myself I ordered the vegetable dumplings. When I arrived I parked in the plaza parking lot. I walked in and was greeted and told the lady my name. My food took another 10 minutes or so. I paid and left. I dropped off the food and ate my dumplings when I got in. I have been reluctant to eat at a Chinese takeout store. I grew up in one where my parents owned their Chinese takeout business for 25 years on Long Island, New York before they sold the business. Since then, no other place compares to it and I wasn't ready to try anywhere else. Since I moved here to New Jersey two years ago, my husband craves just good Chinese takeout food and I decided maybe it was time to try. We have tried a few places, but Meiwei East has stood out to be a great Chinese takeout. I have been here a few times and each time, the service has been good. Before Covid happened, the establishment has plenty of room for customers to sit and eat. Since Covid has been taking into caution, the business is doing good to stay safe too, customers can pick up their food contactless. My usual go to is Chicken with Broccoli. They make it good every time. I have also tried their Chicken Chow Fun, Shrimp Lo Mein, and Moo Shu Chicken. My recent favorite has been their General Tso's Shrimp from the Chef's Specialities. The order can be good as leftovers the next day too. Last week, our order was picked up and they forgot to put in the Cheese Wontons. After I spoke to the individual on the phone, he was apologetic and I told him next time we come I'll remind him. Earlier tonight when we ordered our food and came to pick up, he remembered me and told us how sorry he was and added the order of Cheese Wontons in the bag already. Now I have tried it too, and it tastes crisp and delicious too. I was glad he remembered and I didn't think to remind him until another time. Friendly staff, clean, and food is always prepared fresh and good. I missed having Chinese take out food, and I'm glad we can go back to Meiwei East and gives me some nostalgia. After trying a few Chinese spots in the area I think we found the one. Called and placed an order for delivery, the woman on the phone got everything correct, asked if I needed things on the side, included tip over the card for the driver and 20mins and $50 later I got a mountain of very fresh very clean food. My go to Chinese place in north jersey. Their food is always made fresh. They offer more than the typical Chinese take out places. They have udon, teriyaki, and hibachi options which are so delicious as well. The chicken wings are always crispy and delicious. My go to items are the beef and broccoli, seafood udon, dumplings, chicken wings, general tso and Mei fun. During covid, they provide extra precautions with contactless pickup. This place is getting worse. I use to love ordering from here before the new management. But ever since then the food has gotten worse. Yesterday we ordered and they got my order wrong. But I didn't complain, but once we opened the order there was a foul smell that came from the chicken and broccoli. My son refused to eat it and threw it out. Closer to 3.5 stars than 4. Food is tasty. Ordered crab rangoon and 2 lunch special orders: chicken with broccoli and sesame chicken both with pork fried rice. Both dishes came with a small soup: got wonton and hot and sour. We typically order from Hong Kong Chinese which is right down the road, but they are closed on Tuesdays now. Crab Rangoon was tasty, very crisp and hot, the red sauce was tasty as well, but a bit ketchup-y for my liking. Both dishes were tasty as well. Their fried rice is very yummy! The deduction of stars is because of the hot and sour soup I ordered for myself. The wonton was tasty, along with the rest of the food, but there was something about the hot and sour that tasted a bit...off? In smell, it was very attractive and I couldn't wait to try it, but after a taste of the broth. Unfortunately, it wasn't what I had to expected it to taste like. While living up to its name, it was spiced well and it was sour. There just was a strange aftertaste that I, which I hate to say it, reminded me a bit chlorinated water? I had my brother taste it to make sure I wasn't being picky and it made him take a step back as well. All in all, the everything was very yummy, hot and fresh. As for the hot and sour soup, it was just not something I had expected taste wise. I'll definitely try the soup again another time as maybe my taste was having an "off" day. Price wise: really good value for the amount of food you get! The service is super friendly and nice as well. I hope this place keeps doing well especially with the Covid restrictions still in place. Still incredibly clean, very friendly employees, the food is very tasty and reasonably priced and they are very flexible to change things on their menu. Best Chinese in Clifton hands down. Clean and fresh. Can specify how you want it prepared and all items are standard Chinese fare. Not your typical dive chino spot, pay slightly higher but well worth it. Boneless ribs, homemade wontons, general tao and fried chicken is awesome. Def uses fresh oil. Not stale tasting at all. I ordered hibachi chicken. I did not get hibachi chicken. Hibachi is normally cooked on a flat grill and mine was sautéed like chicken and broccoli would be. I really love this chinese take out! I ordered here 4 times already and each time it's been good! I got the house special fried rice with extra onions and half chicken all tastes amazing and fresh and not salty. Spring rolls and shrimp eggs rolls are standard no after taste from the oil it was fried in. Delivery was not quick I do live 10 mins away, but it doesn't bother me when I'm waiting on deliciousness! By the way they pack food in environment friendly containers which is nice they are moving away from the styrofoam! And the food was not soggy! Keep it up! read more

We ordered the general tso chicken and the shrimp and rice along with the crab rangoon. I am not a big fan of Chinese food but I will definitely order from this place in the future. Tried for the first time today. Didn't realize we had this gem right near my house. We had the Rangoons with the red sauce. A little sweet but hot and crispy and delicious. My son had chicken low mein, made to order without vegetables, very good. I had vegetable fried rice which didn't have celery which is good because I hate celery and it seems to be in a lot of Chinese food..also had the fried chicken wings , again hot and crispy and delicious. All for $20. The restaurant is bigger inside than it looks and super clean. Very nice people working there. We will try new things there and I think it will be our go-to Chinese restaurant.
