This is your typical Chinese restaurant interior. We did dine in, we were the only ones in there so they did bring our food to us. I will say it was cooked fresh, nice and crispy chicken. We both got fried rice instead of white rice. The food was just so so. If I'm in a pinch I would probably go back but we do prefer Weng's. read more

Dine-in service was awful. I tipped 20% in advance as I thought we would be served. No water, a mix and match of Styrofoam and paper plates, plastic dinnerware, and food came out at different times. Close your dining room (as a lot have) if you can't actually provide service to customers. I understand labor shortages, but I would have taken it home and ate off an actual plate, if I'd known. If you are in the cities this place is a ways out there distance wise. However, if you want some good Chinese food, it's worth the drive! Living in Colorado I had virtually no luck finding food like this. The egg foo young is actually a patty with gravy! Thank you! It was flavorful and complimented the fried rice very well. The general tao's chicken was good, I would have liked it kind of spicy. I will have to ask for it to be kicked up a notch next time. Overall nicely sized portions, fairly priced, and the service was good (very friendly). If you are ever out in the Farmington area, I highly recommend stopping in and having a meal here. read more

Went for lunch take out today since I hadn't been in awhile. Nothing Changed still bad food and worse service. I was treated like i was bothering them to make my order when not a single other person was in there at Noon. I asked for plastic silverware to take with me and was given a plastic fork unwrapped from under the counter. With the experience of Covid I would think this would a think of the past. I use to order from Mei wei a lot. This past saturday I got orange chicken and fried chicken wings. Within 3 hours of eating my meal my stomach started to hurt and i started to have diareha. I have had it ever since which caused a trip to the emergency room. I was diganosed with a food posioning which was caused from the food. so i recommend not eating here. read more

This is the only Chinese restaurant that we go to and it's very close to the home we call and place an order and we go pick it up they're always very friendly very happy the order is always right the food is always good and it's always a nice experience. Mei Wei is a busy eat-in and take-out Chinese restauarant in Farmington. They have been nominated to the 100 best Chinese restaurants in America. In addition to their varied menu, they have lunch and dinner specials. Lunch specials include fried or white rice. Dinner specials also include an egg roll. The food is consistently good and comes to your table fresh and hot. I've been here several times and have always been happy with their food. Mei Wei is right by our house, we used to go here all the time. We usually did take out. It is easy to call it in and run over and grab it. A few years ago, we ate here and my wife and I both got very sick. The kids eat different food off the menu, they were fine. Until recently, we had not gone back. We started going back because it is so close to our house, the food is good, and it's a local place to support. So far so good. It might have been a fluke and we really want to have a place like this close to home that is not a chain. The folks that work here are nice and remember us every time we come it. We want to love this place. We want them to succeed. We like the food and the people. So, we are back. Giving them another chance. read more

I have been reading the previous reviews and I keep hearing the word "average." Well, they are all bozos. This place is so above and beyond average I wish they would rename their store "Mei Wei, Bath, and Beyond." Just close your eyes and play China food roulette. Just pick something off their perfected menu and let your taste buds take a ride on the China food train. Destination: Beautiful. Yeah, that was a mid-2000s Mae reference. But that's how I feel about this establishment. I have also been going to Mei Wei for 10 years but it feels like just yesterday we met. The same woman and two guys have been there forever. I don't know their names but if I saw the in person she would certainly yell "cashew chicken, ten minutes." The most loving words I have ever heard. Probably more so than even my wife's vows. And I don't feel like she would be offended by me saying so. Here's a fun tip to play though: call them. Just order a thing. And then say "yes" to everything they say after that. Wait ten minutes and then pick up whatever God given gift they just made for you. Five stars. read more

We just moved to the area and this place was right down the road from us so we tried it out. The service was good, and we got our food quickly. I was looking forward to the fried rice the most and it was very dry. We were definitely not impressed. However, the Lo Mein was very delicious! My husband liked the General Tsos Chicken, but I thought it was very mediocre. Overall it was an okay experience, but we'll be trying different Chinese restaurants around the area before we come back. read more

This is our go-to place for (Americanized) Chinese food. The menu contains what you would expect from an inexpensive Chinese take-out restaurant. Where Mei Wei stands out is in their consistent delivery of flavor and service. My husband and I regularly get the Sesame Chicken, Orange Chicken, Fried Rice, and Cheese Wontons and it is ALWAYS delicious. The woman on the phone is always friendly; the food is always fast, fresh, and hot; and the prices are very reasonable. Only one drawback is that they don't deliver. Big plus: open on most holidays.
