Been using Meier's since 2007 at my first house in Coppell. Came every week about the same time with a small crew and knocked it out quick. My yard looked great! Made it look too easy though. One year I cancelled and bought a mower and did it myself. MISTAKE! At the end of the year I had more clover than grass and missed the straight trim edges along the walks. They are cutting the lawn at my new house in Coppell with a lot more beds and foliage. They got it looking good. We have used Meier's for some time now and have always been happy. They show up when scheduled, are usually able to accommodate your scheduling requests, and do work as promised. We have had regular mowing service, periodic bed and brush clean out, fall raking and a few other yard maintenance issues taken care of. Meier's Landscape Maintenance is an excellent company to work with. I've lived in my current home in Lewisville for 21 years. I tried several Landscape Maintenance companies before I found Meier's. I've been a customer with them for about 15 years now and have never had a problem with them. In addition to the lawn care, they have pruned shrubs and trees, and I also use their weed control and lawn feeding service. Several years ago during a bad storm my Bradford Pear tree in the back yard split and almost hit my house. I called Mace (Meier) and he had a crew at my house to cut the tree down for me within a day. The guys in the crew cut the wood to enable me to use it as firewood and stacked it for me. They chipped the parts not usable and cleaned up afterwards. If you're looking for a reliable lawncare company Meier's is the one to choose. read more

It's rare that I will take the time to do a poor review. Honestly, it's usually more trouble than it's worth, and I prefer spend my time somewhere other than in front of my computer after a long day at work. However today's experience required a review. The TL/DR version: Service was not given at the usual time (7am.) The dispatch came off irritated and rude when we called to let them know we had let our dog out at 5:15pm after being cooped all day waiting for them, and in an effort to coordinate service while keeping our dog safe, we were treated like an annoyance and subsequently cancelled as auto-paying customers by the company for "calling too many times about the dog." Seems previous poor reviews are probably more accurate than you'd think. Be aware. ___ Meier's Landscape was contracted by us a few months ago. The service given so far was mostly acceptable. Enough to get us through the season. Today however, after being serviced at 7am for the last several weeks, I arrived home at 4:30pm surprised to find no service had been completed. By 5:15pm when they still had not showed, I assumed they weren't going to and let our golden retriever out to eat, potty and play, and left again for time sensitive errands. My husband called to check in, and was told they were behind and still coming. Concerned for our dog's safety, we told the dispatch that he was outside and asked if the office would call the crew to warn them. The dispatch stated they couldn't promise anything, that they sometimes don't talk to the crew for hours at a time, and couldn't promise the crew had their phone with them. We would have perfectly understood if they had tried to be remotely friendly about this, but were a little taken aback at what came off as an uncaring/unhelpful attitude. Still, I dropped everything and rushed back to our home to put our pup away again. During that time the crew had come and mowed the front. A note was on the door (photo attached if I can find a way) I was a dispatch myself for a vendor service like this, and was surprised at poor wording of the note. "Mean dog" as a general reason is likely to be inaccurate as clearly not all dogs are "mean", it was passive aggressive in tone, and simply unprofessional. I could only imagine what my customers would say upon receiving something like this. As per the notes instructions, I called asking for a return to complete the backyard since I had gone out of my way to rush home and put away our dog. I was told by the dispatch (who pointedly did not give his name) that they're in our neighborhood only on Wednesday or Fridays. It was very much implied that I shouldn't bother with it, or bother them. I was surprised by the annoyed tone, but asked him to please put us on the schedule anyway since they clearly offer the service to do so. I was upset at his irritated and uncaring manner, and tried to explain how that note made me feel as a customer. I made the suggestion, in the interest of better PR, that they change the "mean dog" to something along the lines of "safety of your pet." That was met with what felt like open contempt. My husband, frustrated that I was upset, called again to figure out why we were being treated so awfully, and was subsequently told WE were being cancelled "for calling too many times about the dog." Judging by the owner's response to one of the poor reviews below, I'm willing to bet that "dispatch" was the owner himself. The attitude was identical. If he wishes to respond to this and complain that we "talked down to him" or were "too annoying" because we were simply trying to make sure possibly the goofiest golden ever was safe, then that should probably give you more than enough clue of the type of service they DON'T offer. read more

Meier's is the best for lawn and landscape maintenance! We have used them for years! They give professional service at a very competitive price (we check), and their employees are professional and all have been there long-term! We get excellent, consistent service! Mace Meier owns the company and manages their trucks and equipment. He seems like ex-military because he has gruff voice, but he is always professional and nice, and apparently that voice comes in handy in managing his employees and their schedules! No-nonsense, quality, value, professionalism... what more would you want in a lawn service? Give them a try! (Oh, and I live in Coppell, not Addison. Just fyi.) read more

I was with Meier's for many years and relatively satisfied with the service overall. They mowed, applied all the chemicals and cleaned and trimmed the flower beds. I had problems with the crews leaving the backyard gate open which created serious problems when my dogs got loose. I asked the guys to bag the grass clippings in the backyard ( which is not a large space ) bc they were sloppy cutting around the pool. I had to spend 20 mins after every cut skimming the grass clippings from the pool. So, 4-5 years later , which was July 2018, I get a call from the owner , Mace , who left me a voicemail stating that the driver / lead of the crew wanted to start charging me $5 extra to bag the backyard. After about 15 mins of discussion, Mace stated "that given the choice between his driver/ crew chief or a customer , he will choose his driver every time ". I was speechless!! I recommend at least 3 other houses in my neighborhood to Meier's and this guy/ company has no idea how to handle his most loyal customers. Mace went on and on about it being such a tight labor market that he "can't afford to piss off a driver"......who the heck is running the show at Meier's Landscape?? I will not reward bad behavior with my dollars when there are many more appreciative landscaping companies in the area . Very sad and pathetic that this company would treat a longtime client with such disrespect. read more

I called today to find out about fertilizing prices. He quoted me and said 8 times a year. I asked when do they apply pre emergent and he said "year round". To which I responded: "I thought it was late fall and around Jan/Feb". To which he replied: "Since you know so much find yourself someone else". Are you kidding me! Hired Meiers to maintain my yard AND beds. When the weeds in my flower beds began reaching my ankles I contacted the company. When the owner talked with me he became very unprofessional and suggested the problem was mine. Weeds above my ankles -- not my problem, especially one I "imagined" I paid NOT to have. They have pulled out my sunflowers!!!! IN PEAK blooming time!!! SERIOUSLY!!!!! I can't even believe it. Don't trust them to clean your yard. They take your precious flowers and baby agave and pull them out or cover them with mulch. In addition - I spoke with someone with the last name of Meier this morning. After little to no apology, "They must have thought they were weeds", I informed him that we would no longer need their services, he hung up on me. I called back thinking perhaps this was a mistake, but he confirmed he had hung on me, that we didn't have anything else to talk about and that he was tired of my "bitching". This saddens me because his crew that cut our lawn has done a good job and I might have recommended them for that service alone to people, not the lawn clean up. However, after that, I would highly recommend staying away from this company and go with another lawn company. Anyone who treats their customers, whether you are a current customer or one who is terminating services, this way should not be running a business. read more

Owner has no sense of customer service. Rude, no investigation, your fault. I have used Meier's for about 2 years. other small problems, nothing major. My husband was home Friday, sitting out back. I walked in the front door at 12:30-NO NOTE. I sat out back with the dogs. He left at 12:45 out the front door - NO NOTE. I got up from the back patio at 1:10 and walked to the front door to leave. Note saying they treated our lawn. I thought they must be doing it then. They were not there. Owner returned my call and I explained it was impossible that they treated the yard. First he said that the gate must have been locked. Nope. And no note saying that. I also told him there was no indication the yard was treated. Not wet and my white dog ALWAYS has green feet after treatment and there are granules. He tried to tell me they don't use granules or colored treatment. What? Then what have his guys been putting on for 2 years that always makes my dog's feet green? Then, he asked about me saying they didn't call us back in February when we called to complain that they had charged us for a treatment in January and a treatment in February when we had only signed up for quarterly treatments. He told me that they don't have such a program that is done quarterly, that they just do it when they feel we need it. What? I would NEVER sign up for that. Let them just treat when they need extra cash and charge me $50 each time in addition to my weekly mowing payment? All the owner had to do was to say that he would investigate and talk to the guys to find out what happened. And then called me back later to discuss it. I would have stayed. But when he kept making excuses and flat out lying to me when he had no idea whether they treated or not, I can't tolerate that. And acting like I was wrong before he even knows. He needs lessons in customer service. I would never recommend. Luckily I used Amex, so I can dispute the charge, but beware. They make you sign up with a credit card so they can charge you in advance. read more

I am very sad to say you should NOT use Meier's Landscaping . Although they do show up on the day promised, their work is substandard. I asked for months for them to mow my lawn higher -- that is, to raise the bed of their mowers so they grass wasn't so short that it burned up in the summer sun -- and they continually failed to do that. I asked them not to mow when it was raining b/c it was bad for the grass -- they continued to do that. In fact, this week when I caught them BEFORE they started mowing and asked them NOT to mow b/c it was wet (and raining), 10 minutes later after I went back in the house, they mowed and made ruts in the mud in my yard. When I asked them why they did that, the guy started cussing at me in very broken English, but the words "f*ck" and "f*cking" were very clear. If you don't want the abuse and damage to your yard, I suggest you pick another lawn company. read more
