I wish I could give zero stars. This company is so corrupt, I received a confirmation on a gaming system and after calling them and asking if I can pick it up early, they cancelled my order and gave it to someone else. This is ridiculous. I literally was trying to get it for 3 hours and when I finally get it they give it to someone else. I will never shop or recommend this store to anyone. They couldn't even give me a reason why they canceled my order after I received a confirmation code. If I received a confirmation I would assume they have enough inventory but no they want to let you think you're getting what you want to turn around and pop your bubble. One of the best grocery stores in the Detroit area. I am home visiting for the holiday weekend and we went here to get all the food we need for our BBQ. The store was well stocked and busy but there were not enough cashiers open. The lines were long and slow. Overall, a really good place to shop. read more

I've been waiting in the parking spot for curbside pickup for an hour and a half now, still currently waiting. Cars have come and gone next to me, picking up their orders. I've called a couple times to clarify that my order has been started, because after waiting so long I would have just went into the store to shop. I could have been done by now. Two other cars near us have started to wait and just left without receiving their orders. I don't know the reason, but my guess would be the long wait. I will never be ordering Meijer pickup again, and I suggest you save your time by just going in to shop, or ordering online elsewhere. This Meijer is a relative newcomer to the Downriver area and probably the nicest. The store is light, bright and airy and has lots of room to shop. The aisles are wider than the usual store and the people working are very friendly. The store even has a couple of armchairs in the book area to take a breather. The store also seems more fashion focused with clothing, hair supplies, perfume and cosmetics front and center and the rest along the edges. The only glitch was when all the self-serve checkouts went crazy at once-major chaos! But it was resolved and all was peaceful again! Go before 9 am on Saturday, otherwise the store is picked apart by noon. read more

All of my experiences this far have been great. Super friendly staff and fully stocked. I love their cars with cup holders and at checkout I asked for quarters, was referred to the service desk where I was quickly given two rolls. I don't know about you, but trying to get quarters is trying to get water out of a rock sometimes. read more

This used to be a lovely meijers. But over the last 18 months management cut staff and now we have long lines to checkout. Doesn't matter what day or time. There will be at max 4 non self check out lanes open. General wait time for check out is usually over 8 minutes. The store has declined in terms of restocking as well. It's a mess when they do it. The sales are nice...the staff themselves are nice. But management needs to quit going after payroll bonuses and focus on delivering solid service! read more

This Meijer is racist I'm black paid for all my groceries and Instacart here. I was stopped on my way out and asked to see my receipts . I asked do y'all do this to everyone or just me . Two females at the door one black one white said just me. I saw a white guy when the door alarms went off and no one even bothered to stop him. Will not patronize this location again. I shop here all the time. Love my mperks and catered coupons I get in the mail. They've got plenty of vegan options and the store seems clean to me. My only note is that the last chance sale items may already be moldy, I wasted $3 on a beet salad that ended up having mold in it :/ read more

Went here just for Xmas cookies and they were sold out. I asked the girl at the bakery were they putting out any more. She said, "Yeah, in like 3 hours" she was upset that I dare asked her. So, I come back in 3 hours and the cookies looked wrong, they were really big and THICK. I bite into one and they were raw in the middle and they were not made of Xmas cookie dough but they were made of Chocolate chip cookie dough without the chocolate chips, disgusting. I like this Meijer store, it's kept cleaner than the Taylor store. But, I do have a few gripes: One, it seems that the ladies restroom at the rear of store near the sporting goods department can't keep TP in the stalls. I complained about it once, nothing improved. Two: Shopping is not pleasant when I am run into by Arabic women. This is not slur against them. It is FACT. Every time I shop, some Middle Eastern or Arabic woman will run into my heels with their cart. When I complain, they just walk away, don't even attempt to say 'I'm sorry'. Most of the time these women are not alone, but with family and everyone just stares. It is the strangest thing I've ever encountered. I have found that most of the time, they want to be *ahead* of as many people as possible, if you are walking too slowly they will run into you. My husband has seen the same thing happen to other people in other aisles (away from me) when we have been shopping, it's always Middle Eastern or Arabic women. It is a shame no one has any manners. read more

Beware.....I previously shopped at this location and twice within the past year, my credit card information was stolen. I have pinpointed it at this location because both occurred right after I shopped here. Both times, I have used the self-checkouts. I have raised complaints about there being skimmers on the credit card readers, however, this has fallen on deaf ears. As much as I liked shopping at this location, I will no longer do so. read more

Came in today to return bottles and buy groceries. I arrived at the bottle return to find myself behind four people who were waiting for one usable machine. The rest were not working. The woman ahead of me said two others already notified people who work there about the situation and that one person decided to leave and handed her the bottles she had in a bag saying "I don't have time for this". While I was waiting I called and told customer service what was going on and I walked out to the greeters, yes greeters since there were two people at one entrance needed to say hi to customers yet no one in bottle return. Finally someone did come but I'm sorry, someone needs to be back there most of the day...all of the day on weekends. The machines are filthy and you can tell they go days without being wiped down. The walls are disgusting as well. So I finally get to go in for groceries and was greeted once again by the two greeters who were just chatting with themselves when no one was walking in. I tend to see a lot of the front employees talking a lot to each other. Can't one of them go clean up the bottle return or other areas that need it? The rest of my shopping experience was fine. A few of The items I wanted to purchase were not in stock but it was Monday and the weekends are busy. The lettuce for the second week in a row looks horrible. You pick it up and it's like a head with no skull or something and you can squeeze it and just about touch your fingers to one another through the lettuce. Stopped here to buy some alcohol. I quickly ran in and grabbed some wine and gin. They have a large selection of wine and a variety of beer. I noticed they have beer and wine from a lot of local vendors in Michigan which I always appreciate. You could also create your own six pack (they provide the bottle carrier) from some of the local selections, instead of buying a six pack you could grab a few to take home and try first. read more

I love Meijer. Every week you have something on sale that I love to eat. And then there are those sneaky "impulse buy" displays that suck me in & get me to buy stuff I never planned on. But it's ok, you have everything I need. Your employees are nice to me & make me feel welcome. Meijer in Allen Park has the worst customer service of any store I have ever shopped in. I have not shopped and Meijer in a while because of the terrible customer service always receive at the Allen Park store. They asked me to come back and offered me $5.00 off on my next purchase on my Mperks card. So after working out at the GYM next door I had a taste for one of their sandwiches I liked so thought I would give it a try? What a mistake. While I grabbed the sandwich, I also needed some Jam and they were out of 2 of the flavors I wanted (when I used to shop there it was not usually for 10-20 % of what I needed being out of stock). The staff I encountered was rude, and to top it off they didn't give me my $5.00 off! The store said that was an Mperks they could not help me! I Called Mperks later when I go home, they apologized, said the coupon was "stuck" in the system but they assured me they were releasing it now! I thanked them but not worth my time to go back to that store in hopes of getting my $5.00 off! read more

This store is horrible BY FAR! The bathroom is so disgusting that it looks like a crack house. You have people who just randomly drive around the amigos and NOBODY says ANYTHING to them and trust me... These people did NOT need them. I'm disgusted at some of the people and also the people who don't have the courage as employees to tell them to put it back for people who actually NEED them. This place is always busy but offers a wide selection from food to clothing. I never been in a meijer before this one so, I have nothing to compare it too. Just a warning grab a cart before you go in because it took me 3-4 times to learn when it's busy they have no carts inside. Staff is friendly and helpful as well! read more

I left a review before. Had no plan on going back to meijers. However I gave it a couple more chances. I quit going to the Allen Park Mi store because it has turned into a dump. The things that go on there are pathetic. Some even disgusting. Report what you see to a employee or manager and they don't care. On 3 occasions I have seen people take things off a shelf, walk around eating it and just leave the trash somewhere and not pay. The worse.. Some idiot had taken a package of that cooked roasted chicken they sell. As he shopped he was eating the chicken and had even taken paper towel to wipe his mouth and hands with. I was there long enough to see him set the rest of the chicken box on a shelf and the paper towel he used. Another walking around eating a big bag of chips. Again the bag was just left behind. No one there cares. 2 guys on a handicap scooter riding around on it like crazy up and down aisles. They were around 18, 19. One was driving it and the other laying across the basket with his arms and legs knocking things off the shelves. I told a worker and was told they didn't want to get involved, LOL. Seriously. So I did change Meijers to the Lincoln Park one. Much cleaner. However they have problems there too. So since the one in Allen Park is right down the street and I forgot a few things when shopping , I did go back to allen park to get the few things. Now of course the lines are long rigth now with distance. That I can deal with. However they make sure they only open a couple lanes with cashiers since they want you to use self scan. The 11 item or less lane was only open 1 time in the last few months that I saw. So we are all lined up at register 18. All of a sudden a worker walks to 20 and ready to open it. This woman with a ton of groceries and a baby in a car seat was coming by at that moment and yelled, "are you opening". The cashier said yes, come on over. That was totally wrong. The long line waiting should have been broken in half and those people should have had a chance to move over. So instead of that all of us were in line for over 1/2 hr while this johnny come lately woman got called over to be first and she was never in line. Total BS. I will leave my other review for th Lincoln Park one now too. I have spent a lot of money at meijers. We don't just get around $300 worth of groceries each week but I was there all the time buying everything I need. from automotive, house, clothes, toys, even live fish. No more. Done for sure this time. It's going back to Krogers for food and Walmart will start getting all my other business. Not spending anymore money at a total dump run by uncaring workers.
