My wife and I used to love the Meijer's we went to in other towns and were looking forward to this one opening. We went once and haven't been back. First, the driveway sucks. Only one way in and out. So it's very congested. Second, the store is small. Like really small compared to other Meijer's stores. Which is weird cause they have a ton of land over there. Third, it's expensive. Much more than the local grocery stores, Aldi's and of course Walmart(I hate Walmart by the way). It's just not worth going to. read more

This Meijer use to be my favorite place to shop. Now, I completely avoid shopping here. They rarely have cashiers on duty forcing everyone go through the self-checkout. These lanes have some sort of auto/anti theft camera that supposedly picks up "suspicious" movement. Almost every time I go through the checkout the register freezes & a staff member has to come watch the video to make sure you're not stealing. This has happened to me countless times & never once was there any validity. I am TIRED of being falsely accused of stealing by their system. I won't shop where I'm continuously accused of this. I have spoken to management every time this has happened & never once offered a reasonable explanation nor a solution. At the very most, I have received a disingenuous apology. read more

Wonderful selection of produce! This is a fabulous store to shop at if you are a grocery-store-nerd like me! I check the ads, and deals each week before shopping. Download their app because it's very helpful to track your rewards and coupons. Their are many "special deals" lurking in the aisles if you are observant! Look for the orange stickers--lol. Don't keep the app open while shopping unless your phone battery is fully charged--it eats up your charge--lol. read more

I am very disgusted beyond words at this point. I have been doing my shopping here since the day they opened. With recent events (the protests for black lives matter) I have been wearing my custom face mask with the words "no justice no peace" written on the front of it while doing my shopping. The first time i wore it I was just served dirty looks by employees. The second time that's when the nasty comments started. Employees pointing and talking down on the movement. Making comments like "get over it already." "Why is she wearing that she's not even black" are you kidding me? Get over innocent lives being taken by a corrupt system? Get over years of systemic racism? Just get over it? I understand not agreeing with the movement, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But the blatant racism and remarks that were made over my personal face mask is disgusting and ridiculous. It made me feel not welcomed in the store and honestly sick to my stomach. I'm very unsettled and will not be returning this location. This makes me so sad honestly. Not only should meijer do better at training their employees to watch what they say but to those employees (you know who you are) do better. It's 2020. You're disgusting. read more

VALERIE in the bakery section was so sweet and made my experience great! I wanted a gender cake done last minute with blue icing in the center (it was the afternoon). I briefly told her my situation and how I just couldn't wait to tell my husband and she said she can whip something up super quick and add a personalized saying on the top for me! I'm not sure if she was busy but she dropped everything and made this cake so quickly! I was super surprised after being told no from two other places and they were rude about it (not Meijer). So I was super excited and just wanted to say thank you Valerie! It was so awesome to surprise my husband. You created a special moment we will remember forever. I can't wait to post the video of him cutting open the cake and his reaction!! read more

I love this store! The butcher department is amazing. Prices are fair and love the whole store.

Just had the worst experience ever. Did a pick up order. Got an email it was ready at 8:36am. Said I could still pick it up between 10-11 like requested. I get there at 10. I wait until 11:20 for my order. The person doing the pick up orders couldn't find mine and it was lost and she had to get all others out before she could get to mine. Never apologized just kept saying it wasn't her fault she is the only one doing those. Then I get home to find I am missing 6 items including a 100 count box of k cups. That was I charged for all of this. Tried calling customer service who didn't care at all. They transferred me to the store manager where I sat on hold for 15 minutes. I could no longer waste any more of my time. I hung up. I understand now why you don't get an itemized receipt with a pickup order. They want to leave items out and charge you for them. Do not use their online pick up order. They will leave items out and still charge you. I will never go back to Meijer after this experience. read more

If you want to be frustrated beyond words then try to have your groceries delivered for this store!! I've tried numerous times and when they error it's BAD! It's one thing to choose the wrong size or product but to just not receive my orders?! Tried calling the store and they're not taking any customer service calls!!!! Tried the grocery pick up for the first time. Terrible experience. My scheduled pick up time was 6pm. I am still waiting (with many other angry customers) at 7:15. I think if they do not have the staff, they should not accept orders. I have done pick up at Walmart numerous times and never had an issue. This is very poor. read more

I had no idea that a Meijer was opening in Avon till I started seeing all the awesome deals people posted on Facebook. I rushed over to there to check it out once I saw their grand opening sale ad. This store is huge! The best way to describe them for someone who hasn't been there is its an upscale Walmart. They really have everything you could want in here from bed sheets, to meat, to clothing. I mostly shopped the grocery side and got some incredible deals on meat and produce. They also have a hot foods bar, a Starbucks, a great clips, and a gas station. I thought it was a nice touch for them to have a food truck outside serving free popsicles. Everyone was super friendly and helpful and also asked me how my experience was. I highly recommend you download the app that helps you save on gas and has e coupons that you can clip and check out with. Also they has some deals going on where you spent so much on meat or produce and you earned a dollar amount off. Head on over there to check out all this store has to offer! read more

Total waste of time. With all the grocery store options we have this place is just not worth it. What's up with the buy 9 of one item and then get 55c off the 10th. Something goofy like that. I have always liked the Meijer store/brand and frequent the Mentor location. Normally everyone is friendly. I was on this side of town running errands and decided to stop in before returning home. The middle-age brunette woman manning the checkout towards the toiletries exit/entry was very rude (I was the only one scanning for a bit and when she walked by me she made sure to not be friendly, and I am the first to say hi to associates at times - I got a bad vibe from her) and watched me like a hawk. She stood closely (what happened to social distancing?) and watched me scan like she waiting for me to steal something. I know that self-checkouts have high security since I frequent them and don't mind the watching, I am used to that, but this was another level. Oh and yes, if you were wondering, I am a woman of color. She was still watching me intently when another customer popped up and started scanning and I noticed she did not move to a more central location so she can watch all checkouts; so then I *knew* what the score was. I just wanted to get out of there (though the thought crossed my mind to just have my entire purchase cancelled and voided and roll out the store, then I worried that I would've looked "suspicious." Sad, huh.) I did not catch her name via her tag, however I did make a complaint. I have been a loyal customer since the Meijer brand moved into Cleveland, but I am rethinking my loyalty as of today. I never had an issue with a Meijer associate up until today and such a bitter taste is left in my mouth. read more

Terrible customer service, management lacks customer service skills. I was belittled and embarrassed while just trying to shop and take advantage of a sale. Do not shop meijer. This doesn't deserve the business, if your going to kick out paying customers you shouldn't be in business. All the managers must be qualified, I understand running a business is tough, but when it comes to having a management team you can not take the easy way out and just hire whoever. Meijers is new and I'm not sure it's in Cuyahoga county where I live but I traveled to Avon from the far east side just because I wanted to know what Meijers is all about. I keep seeing it on TV and want to know if it's really so. So I travel there and spent the better part of a day wandering around this humongous store. It is the biggest square footage store I've ever seen. It beats Walmart supercenter's four times over. I was impressed with the set up, with the space in the aisles, the goods stacked in the aisles/shelves-neat and tidy. I have never seen this many items all in one store, organized to perfection with loads of stock of every single item whether it be toys, HBA, cleaning products, wiper blades, they had it all. Every single person I passed that worked there spoke to me, I found deals after deals after deals and I realize it's the Christmas season, however, but the deals I was looking for wasn't Christmasy and there were hundreds of them. The floors were so clean and shiny at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. I could've had my dinner on them. I am a retailer of decades ago and I know what a retail store should look like, this one passes muster 100 times over and better than Walmart,Target, Kohl's, Macy's, any mall I've been to in the past five years. The cashier had rung up an item wrong and when I took it back to customer service, they asked no questions they gave me the price that I told them it was and credited my credit card for the difference, now thats service you don't see since the 1960s.This was well worth my trip, my gasoline, wear-and tear on the tires to see this fabulous retail marketing idea. Visited this Meijer for the first time today to see what all the fuss is about. What is all the fuss about? Started out at customer service to get a card -- they don't issue cards, you have to use the app. Great, except that we don't have smartphones. Didn't spend much time looking at the poor quality overpriced clothes. Couldn't find most of the food items that we were looking for, what we did find was overpriced. All of the center aisle displays were chips and beer. No samples. Not coming back. read more

Meijer is brand new so it's perfectly clean and well stocked. I found prices of clothing to be high. The beer and wine selection is great! The grocery side was well stocked and offered many options or brands. There is a Starbucks and hair cutting place inside as well. I would definitely go again. read more
