If you've been to one Meijer, I feel like you've seen them all. The layouts are almost identical (probably a corporate thing) I'm not sure if it's a time of a day thing, but sometimes one side of the store's self checkouts are closed. Thus store was clean and parking was a breeze. I didn't interact with employees, but the store seems well stocked. read more

I had to come to this Meijer because the pharmacy at the Meijer close to me did not have the medication. It is a typical Meijer store. My confusion came trying to find the pharmacy. Usually when you walk in, you are able to locate the section you are looking for standing just inside the entrance.. Well, when it comes to the pharmacy, not here. I had to ask where it was. It is located in the northern end of the building. I looked, and there was no signage as I was approaching. The "PHARMACY " letters are loated on what is the front of the pharmacy but faces the rear of the store. Employees were very friendly. read more

SUPERSTORE #169 If there's one thing this grocery giant has going for them, it's sheer convenience. Sitting in the southwest quadrant of the big intersection @ Boughton & Weber, this Meijer services the western parts of Bolingbrook (not to be confused with the eastern Bolingbrook Meijer, also on Boughton). There's some competition in nearby Jewel, ALDI and Target but Meijer gets the bulk of our business, since they have the most cold beer. A half dozen self-checkouts are perfect for quick trips; lines move quickly even when one of them is out-of-order. There's always someone monitoring these who are quick to step in and verify ID on alcohol purchases. Like Wal-Mart, Meijer has a greeter (sometimes two) that warmly welcome/thank you upon entering/leaving. The liquor aisles are solid, especially when it comes to beer and wine. Prices on domestics (Miller/Coors/Bud products) are something like $8-9 for a 12pk. Craft stuff (12pk of Revolution, 24pk Sam Adams seasonal) is closer to 1:1 pricing on cans and bottles which is about normal if not better. They've got plenty of hard seltzers plus fancy liquors and lots of mixers. Though we come here mostly for groceries, their men/women/kids clothing section takes up most of the store's space. There's an electronics department as well as a nice pet section stocked with dog toys, cat food, and live fish--for tanks, not cats. Pay attention for the big 'THANK YOU' painted on the ground near the Boughton exit closest to the airstrip, a fun touch as you're leaving the parking lot. Last time here, I wound up paying $4.59 for a gallon of milk! The sign on the glass refrigerator door said $3.49 (maybe $3.79 at the most) but it rang up completely different at checkout. Since we desperately needed milk and I wasn't feeling a separate trip for something cheaper, I groused and bought it. They definitely f*cked me on that one. * TL;DR * We like shopping at our friendly neighborhood Meijer. Nice employees, sensible store layout, and a great selection of items to boot. Every once in a while we'll run into a speedbump (price gouging on milk, self-checkouts not working) that makes me pine for Trader Joe's. Still, I'm grateful to have a superstore this close to us where we can buy everything from blueberries to Blu-Rays--and we come here A LOT. This store is fairly clean and usually but not always well stocked. But then again, NO ONE has any Brooks Hot Chili Beans! Produce is fresh. Prices can be good, but you have to know what you're buying and prices elsewhere. When supplements are buy one get one free, good time to pick some up. And their sales flyer can have some relative bargains compared to other stores. If you are an Mperks user, note this: if you have $2 to go to "earn" your reward, but you spend $100, you get credit for $2. Period. So it pays to be aware of where you are in the reward cycle. I used a self check out and before I could put my first item in the bagging area it refused to take anything else and said "unexpected item in bagging area". Clerk came over and punched in codes . The "unexpected item" was grocery bags she just refilled. I continued. An item was buy one get one at 50%. It charged me full price for both items. Return the clerk. Input more codes. Wouldn't change the price. Clerk had to do the math and code in a nonexistent coupon to adjust the price. I purchased markers. It would not let me scan each one. Again with the bagging area recording. Reenter my best pal the Clerk. More codes. What I should have done is just gift the other 4 markets to myself for aggravation and time! Entered credit card. Now it said unauthorized item again although I had not touched the bagging area. Now I'm getting annoyed faces and sighs from other in line customers. Again the return of my bestie the Clerk. More codes entered. FINALLY I was able to take my items and get out of the store! Best believe I'm checking my receipt when I get home. Came here on a late night run with my boyfriend to get pizza and wine for a little date night at home. Unfortunately when I was at check out I realized I forgot my drivers license in the car (I'm used to using Apple Pay for everything) . An older woman cashier came over and immediately snatched the bottle of wine saying that she could not sell me the wine. Of course I understood that she could not sell me the wine until she seen my ID. I then run out to my car in the freezing cold to get my ID just to come back and have this woman tell me that my boyfriend had to have his ID on him as well. The entire time she was talking to us about not being able to sell me the wine she was being extremely rude to my boyfriend and I. I quickly realized I was getting no where with this lady.. I expressed to her that we come here regularly and we have never both been asked to show our ID. I'm confused as to why my drivers license wasn't enough (I'm 23) ... and what laws have changed or rules been implemented. I called over the manager and asked her why my drivers license wasn't enough and she said that because the previous lady asked me for my ID and that I didn't have it the first time she asked that that was the reason for denying me to sell me the wine. (As she's explaining this it's seemed like this was amusing or funny to her, so weird...) My whole night was completely ruined not so much about not being able to get my wine that was only the half of it. It was the terrible experience/ customer service by the old lady at self checkout and her incompetent manager. read more

I don't usually write reviews for anything, but I just feel sad for the fish they keep here. During my visit, the fish tanks were literally filled to the brim with fish. This isn't healthy and is very sad as many of these fish probably die due to a lack of oxygen in the water. It seems like a waste of "product" (fish being sold) and I bet it makes other customers uncomfortable as well. These fish do not have room at all to live or breathe. Routinely shop at this Meijer. My issue is not so much about this Meijer, but Meijer in general - as I am guessing my issue is not done in this Meijer alone. I don't like the deceptive practices of putting up tags on items that make them look like they are on sale, when they aren't. Regular price is sale price - NOT A SALE! Now yesterday, I see they now have tags showing items on sale, but in fine print 'when 2 or more items are bought' kind of thing. Come on Meijer, you're better than this. Quit being deceptive, and just be honest with your customers. You're not going to win any fans by making them think they are getting a sale price, and then they find out that they aren't getting a sale price. This store is already not fully stocked. You really want to tick off your customers all the more? Just stop! read more

Okay, it's not a nice place. In fact, if there's a remake of Deliverance, the casting call could be held here... but they have low prices and sometimes they have great Meijer sales where you buy one Meijer brand product, you get one free... no limits. Seriously, I went hog wild on Q-tips and cotton balls one year and ever since my Dr's tell me I have some of the cleanest ears they've ever seen. Anyway, one out of every 3 times that I've been to this store, I have seen a "parent" either carrying, dragging, or pushing a cart with a kid that has crusted puke dried to it's face. C'mon people! I know this isn't the Ritz but it's still public. If you could try to feign interest in entertaining the idea that you don't want people to know you resent your kid, it would be lovely. Truly. Yet still 3 stars... this place is open 24 hours. And though I am pretty scared walking from the store front to my car late at night, I cannot deny my only access to any kind of retail at any hour of the night. To be honest I never really walked in to a Meyer before. There were two locations near my house and I came to this one to find some milk that Jewel-Osco didn't have. I was very impressed with the layout of the store. It has everything from clothing to groceries to household products and so much more. I was particularly impressed with the amount of produce that they carry. That all sorts of fruits and vegetables berries and dairy products. The cleanliness of the store was better than most of the big box stores. The location was easy to pull in and out of for the parking. I haven't looked through the clothing department carefully but in terms of produce this is definitely a good option to shop at. read more

I always like Meijer's because I find their shelve food items to be pretty cheap and decent. Not going to lie some of their fresh produce is a bit pricey and Mariano's is a cheaper and fresher than some of their produce. I don't know what it is about Meijer's deli counter but every time we are trying to order deli meat in the Bolingbrook or the one in Naperville location that deli counter people take forever to get the orders done. My husband stood in line for 30 minutes waiting for to order turkey deli meat and when he got it he actually got ham instead and we took home not knowing we got the wrong order. DANG it Meijers! On the other hand i do like their perk system saving 5% on a grocery bill almost $100 was a big deal. I am grateful for the little things in this world I suppose. read more

Day before thanksgiving, I was supposed to have picked up curbside merchandise for thanksgiving dinner for my family but they did not have 50% of the merchandise ordered so I told them to cancel my order. They told me I will not get charged since I was not going to pick up the order. Then they charged me for the full amount. I went in person to get refund. they did not refund me the whole amount, only partial. I was treated badly by the customer service. Even after reaching out to their customer service at their corporate level and also their store personnel, they have not refunded me the remaining amount they charged me erroneously. These people are thieves, stole my money and have blown me off multiple times to give me money they owe me. I have stopped shopping here. I don't recommend anyone shopping here either. read more

The disdain for the customer and the righteous attitude from these people is sickening. Trying to find someone to help you so you can spend your money is a hopeless waste of time. Treating the customer well is a thing of the past, if you are willing to risk your dignity time and money, this poorly managed (understatement) location will deliver and then some! Gone are the days of truth in advertising and any type of respect for the customer at this brick and mortar- go to Bolingbrook at your own risk, I wish I never stepped foot in here. I can't believe so many reviews reflect the same sentiment yet you have a corporation of this size willing to do nothing to hold the employees and especially the store managers accountable. If you're from Cincinnati, you should be thrilled to know they carry Frisch's Tarter Sauce, Graeter's Ice Cream and Skyline Chili. They used to have the frozen packs (my preference) but they recently closed that item out, so I bought the last ten at half off. They do have both sizes of the cans and they also have the newer packs which don't require freezing. I will go back to the cans once my stock is gone and I'll let it simmer a bit to thicken up more like the frozen packs, which always seem thicker. I love their fruit and veg that are pre-cut and they are mixed nicely with good assortments. I rarely have a bad piece of fruit this way. They seem to have a desire to satisfy their customers and the rest of their fruit is as good as Jewel, if not better. IMO I don't do Walmart, Target, K-mart but Meijer just works for me. Follow them on fb. The rest of the store is layed out a little strange and it can be a challenge finding someone to help you. The other frustrating thing is their bakery, I don't know what bone head decided to only allow 8 bags of pretzel rolls and buns out at a time. Their fresh baked items, which I do enjoy... but the numbers on the shelf, don't meet the demand. The last four times I've been in here, they had none on the shelf or in the store. (So I was told.) They were kind enough to go check the freezer today and they found a case. I loaded up on three bags, as they do freeze nicely. I freeze all my bread and take it out the day before, but today I left it on my dash on the way home, so on a 95 deg. day, I could get home and enjoy that Smoked Chirizo I needed a bun for. I just hate using the microwave and usually toast everything a bit in the Superwave Oven and it tastes as if they just came out of the oven. I can't remember the last time I had a piece of bread that wasn't bakery fresh. The self check out lanes are never swamped and it's something I've just grown accustomed to these days... not that I don't like socializing with people but customer care is never going to be like it was at one time. I fear the next generation. It would be a better world if everyone was more civil. It's funny how few people make eye contact, or even bother to be aware of their surrounds and keep their kids in check, as apposed to them running around the produce section like it was a jungle gym. This location for years has never been properly staffed, they usually only have one lane open to check out (with the new remodel it looks like the want everyone to self check out). Today I was in line with 7 others waiting and when they opened the new lane (after a customer complained) we moved over and I was told they would only check out the one customer and I had to go back to the other line (which again had grown). I said I am not going to the back of a longer line I already waited in. She said yes you are and kicked me out of the line. The customers in the line were nice enough to let me back in my original spot. Until their staffing and customer service improves I will no longer be shopping at Meijer. read more

For the last couple of years, Meijer on Weber has been my weekly one-stop for groceries. I love the variety of products and freshness of produce. The store is clean and the staff is great. Lately, Ive had trouble picking up organic whole milk. They are always out. This was never the case before so Im not sure what's going on. Milk is a big staple item in my household we go through 4 gallons a week. It is unfortunate that this item is not relatively available at this location. read more

Love this store. I find everything that I need easily. I'm handicapped and find this store one of the best I've ever shopped in. They not only have the motorized carts but the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I'll be back often. Just came home from another shopping trip to Meijer. After a year of regular shopping there I can only say that I love this store more than I did on my first visit a year ago. It would be impossible to compliment the staff as much as they deserve. They are helpful and efficient. I also find that the customers are polite and helpful. I can't imagine what would make me shop anywhere else. read more

Once in a while, I decide to join my mom and dad on Friday nights for their "date" night. Yes, they're old, and their "date" night consists of going for dinner, and then hitting up the Meijer for a thrilling night of grocery shopping. While this idea may seem lame to some, coming with them on date night saves me on average about 20 bucks! Yes, it's out of the way, but where else can you find some great deals on groceries AND find a basic DVD player for 13 bucks on clearance!? Why so I keep coming back to this store!!? Be very careful here because none of the stuff comes up on sale that is clearly marked on sale!! After waiting for 15 minutes for 1 girl in front of me then checker is scanning my items and NOTHING is coming up on sale as marked on my iPhone Flipp app (grocery ads) and marked in the store!! The Stouffers entrees that were clearly marked on sale back in the freezer section which none of them were coming up on sale at the register- the cheese, the bread, pretty much everything!! After getting really fricking pissed off I just left them with the whole damn cart of groceries and stormed off! WOW! WOW! Can't say enough. Meijer Store on Weber Rs, is so huge. Very spacious, super clean and their staff, extremely helpful, friendly and always smiling! What are they feeding the staff! I want some! LOL! They have so much to offer in groceries, electronics and toys! Going to have to come here at Christmas time! They even sell hunting and fishing licenses! Live fish and aquariums too. Been here a few times and the staff is so excited when you ask them about a product. It is as if they made the product themselves. Only problem I have is the self check out lanes. Seems there are always 1 to 2 registers down. The staff on these areas are extremely helpful however. At times I feel sorry for them becaise of rude customers. They treat the staff as it was their fault. Noticed also the rudist customers are the foreigners. They pressure the staff to give them special deals because of down rwgisters. Some even act like little babies and throw temper tantrums. Yet the staff somehow stays focused and help other customers with the patented friendlieness. That is a true testament of Meijers. Yep, recommend shopping here. However, be prepared to spend about 2 hours here! So much to see and buy. Great deals all around. They also have unadvertised specials and a rewards program too boot. That I will have to look into! They carry a wide variety of almost all items you would need in the kitchen to make this your one stop for shopping. I have been shopping here regularly for years now. Recently, I found out that at Customer Service they offer limited USPS services, and when I brought my Christmas packages there to mail, they weighed them for me & sent them! NO WAIT on the busiest mailing day of the year! Shhhh! Can't wait until next year to beat the crowd! :) read more

This is a hard place to review. They have good prices, but other than that it's a poorly managed shit hole. Ever since it opened, they allow employees to smoke directly in front of the entrances. So I have to walk through a cloud of smoke to get in. They also yell and swear at each other inside and outside of the store. Right in front of my small children. Also, TWICE I've been in line to checkout, get near the front of the line, and the cashier suddenly closes the lane to go on break. Other times they will have on cashier open, but way, way clear down on the other side of the store. I mean, I like exercise, but this gets ridiculous!! I already knew I should of looked elsewhere when I smell weed and see cliques of people lounging in the parking lot. I've never seen a store that was so poorly stocked, I mean there were nice-sized sections of shelves that were completely wiped out. I think this store gets a bad rap, I have been going here for years. Over all I am very impressed with how hard they try to make your visit a great experience. I feel people some times have a hard time looking past a few associates with special needs ( in a truly medical sense, non mocking). I appreciate how hard all of the employees work. I remember when it opened years ago and was shiny and clean! The last time that I was there, after 9:00 p.m., several years ago, there were lines from the cashiers all the way back to the gates of Hades. No way was anybody in management going to open up a couple of more lines to make life better for the customers. Points off for that. There is a huge selection of every type of food and non-food that you can imagine. That's impressive. I believe that I even saw a pet department with fish! As echoed in other reviews, the personnel and clientele are on the trashy side. I have seen some fairly shady looking individuals and groups in the parking lot. I guess that the only thing missing is the surrounding trailer park. Save your time and head to the Jewel by the Home Run Inn pizza place.
