Given that we're only having a 7-month long engagement, going to bridal salons and ordering gowns was out of the question. In comes the Dowry to save the day! Staff: The staff is really friendly and helpful. The place is owned by Emily, a really sweet girl who really tries to accommodate you, even if it means she has to go out of her way. I made an appointment and worked with Anita, one of the store employees who is incredibly supportive and attentive. She greeted me warmly when I arrived and asked me what I was looking for in a wedding dress. True to what I described, she picked gowns that fit the description and stayed under the budget I gave her. Selection: The store is full of dresses that have never been worn at a steal of a price but there are also consigned gowns, too. I've seen labels like Pronovias and Allure on their racks. They have everything from sheaths to full-blown princess dresses. The dress I fell in love with is a Dere Kiang gown that seemed to be consigned to the store; it even had the original veil with it! There are even some evening formal dresses and special occasion dresses in their store, so if you have a formal event coming up, stop by to take a look! Overall experience: I was able to put my dress on hold for a week but ended up going back a few days later with a friend to get a second opinion and try it on a second time. I couldn't walk away the second time but was able to get the dress and the veil for under $300! Each time I talked to Emily or Anita, I was met and received with friendliness and genuine concern for what I wanted. I would DEFINITELY recommend the Dowry to anyone who is looking to do a wedding on a low budget or if you're like me and just think it's ridiculous to pay an arm and a leg for a dress ;)

Usually when I come in, the few salespeople working are spread out on the floor, but each one eventually comes by to greet me and ask if I need anything, or if I have any questions. I've found them all to be friendly and doting. Their boot selection varies from shipment to shipment but I've bought two pairs of boots from this location specifically because of the service, selection, and the great prices. I realize that other western stores may have higher end boots like Lucchese, but if you're a collector like I am, then you get a lot more value here than anywhere else. I'm a fan of supporting the mom and pops (shout out to Scott Colburn and Howell Western Wear), that said, I like Cody James boots. My girlfriend bought me my first pair for Christmas. That was going on two years ago and I still get compliments on them. I'm a fan of Boot Barn. If you're getting into boots, they're an entry level spot to indulge your curiosities.

We had no intention of designing a ring that day, much less falling in love with one. From the very beginning, the team at Medawar made the experience different. Before showing me a single diamond, Brian took the time to get to know me. He asked questions, listened, laughed with us, and genuinely wanted to understand what would make my dream ring...my dream ring. I joked that if money were no object, I'd have a giant pink diamond like Elle Woods. As we tried on different rings and talked through ideas, Brian did something I'll never forget. He grabbed a pink marker and started coloring around the halo of one of the rings I loved so we could actually visualize what pink diamonds would look like. Suddenly, all of us--Brian, Sean, and I--were collaborating. We'd say, "What if we did this?" or "What about that?" and before we knew it, my dream ring was coming to life. Then JP took that vision and transformed it into a stunning custom design. When we saw the rendering, we were absolutely speechless. The finished ring--an elongated cushion diamond surrounded by a gorgeous pink diamond halo--is even more beautiful than we imagined. Throughout the process, the communication was exceptional. Sean was updated every step of the way, and the team even finished the ring a day early so he could propose before his daughter left town. That thoughtful gesture meant more to us than they'll ever know. As someone who leads a team built on relationships, this experience reminded me why connecting with people matters so much. Medawar didn't try to sell us a ring--they built a relationship, listened to what mattered to us, and created something that perfectly tells our story. Thank you to Brian, Austin, JP, and the entire Medawar team for creating not just the ring of my dreams, but one of the most meaningful moments of our lives.
