It was the first Meijer I've ever been to anywhere that didn't have a bunch of oil marks in the parking lot. Very classy place and has to be one of the best Meijers. The deli and sandwiches are way better than Subway. Update 6-18..They changed their buns and meat, cheese etc. Hard chewy bread. Nowhere as good. I don't recommend them. This is a great Meijer. It is always very clean inside and it has a lot of options to choose from. It can get quite busy sometimes, but other than that it has a very nice layout. My favourite grocery store in the GR area. read more

Unwieldy since redesign. Large and confusing. Not fun to shop here. Too much stuff. Overwhelming.

I am so tired of being treated like an inconvenience when I go to Meijer on Plainfield here in Grand Rapids. This at the pharmacy and the store. The techs are helpful but the pharmacist are very rude, talk down to me and act as if I am bothering them and they have no time for me. I am a disabled 62 years old woman not a child. They also treat my daughter the same way, I am sure we are not the only two. The people that work at the cash registers are just as bad. I have used Meijer for many many years and understand we are all stressed out and working hard but this not anything you are doing that others are are not doing too. This was not a one time thing but is happening more often then not. It is to the point that I wrote this! And will share this with them. If you are treated like this over and over please let them know, I have many family members that worked for Meijer and this is not what they teach you or what they want. I am hoping letting them know will help. Very disappointed and the pharmacist owes me an apology. read more

My friend's daughter works for Serve-U-Success. Not a friendly place to work apparently. Terrible pay raises (such as a dime) and humongous work loads break the backs of the workers. Not only does upper management slack, they also take credit for other employees work. This Meijer has removed all of the no item limits lanes, about 2 weeks ago. Why was this done? I heard it was due to people stealing things on this type of checkout lane. Is this correct and will they reinstall these lanes at some points? read more

I've never been to a Meijer so maybe take my review with a grain of salt. I went here with friends just to pick up a few things. Took a little too long to find band aids but whatever. Otherwise, the store was clean and well stocked. It's cool it's open for 24 hours. We got some double chocolate cookies from their bakery and oh my, they're delicious. This meijers made me think of a super target which are my favorite, so I was a happy shopper. read more

If I could give ZERO stars I would due to the performance of the incompetent Knapp Meijer gas station employees. I had a simple order for the older gentleman (crew member) behind the counter/revolving bulletproof glass door; the order was a large water bottle and $35 in gas. (At this point there is no one behind me in line yet.) I take out my CC that had a acute bend along the opposite side of the magnet strip, like most CC after a few years of use but it was very minimal and my card had no cracks along bend. The old man behind the counter could not operate the very simple POS system that has been used for year at Meijer. After 5 Minutes of waiting for him to figure out how to do his JOB. I had a middle age man pull up and stand behind me and then another few minutes pass and the old man still had no idea what he was doing. Two more people show up behind the middle age man. At this point I've been standing out side in the cold for about ten minutes; I turn to the folks behind me and before I can say anything the middle age man says, "It's always like this when he's working, I deal with this problem almost every night." Finally the old man gives up and gets a larger man who is above him (more time goes by before he figures out what the guy was doing wrong). Together they tried my card anywhere from 5-10 times before they figured out how to do there job. Finally I get my water and gas paid for an upon returning my CC the old man bent my card somewhere in the process of receiving my card and then jamming it multiple times in the chip reader slot or before he gave me back my CC. Just by looking at it I knew the old man or larger man had held the CC way to firmly and cracked my card all the way down the bend, before I grabbed my card I looked at both of them and said you bent my card. (Before going to Meijer you couldn't see the end unless you looked at it right, after Meijer my card was extremely noticeably bent) the larger man denied the allegations and tried to say it was like that before, dude you do I look stupid to you? (I know what condition my CC was before I gave it to you because I looked at it when I gave it to you and I see it everyday.) After denying breaking my CC a few times, I had enough of dealing with Meijer and the garbage employees they hire. I have been outside for at least 15 mins waiting for a water bottle and some gas and then having to deal with ignorant employees that had to be double and triple my own age, it was like arguing with a toddler (Meijer employees). I was fed up with their shenanigans and asked for my card back. The old man looked at me like I was from a different planet, repeating myself several times they finally slide the revolving bulletproof glass door were I can grab my now broken in two pieces CC and water bottle. I card was so damaged when I got it back it broke when I tried to put it back in my wallet. I will never shop at Meijer gas again due to incompetence ignorance and childish behavior. From a company that has been around for decades I am extremely disappointed in how your employees are well over the age of 30+ and walk around with the heads up where the sun does not shine because your employees are not the brightest. read more

This store is beautiful and clean, and the deli is usually pretty nice, however they aren't keeping it stocked as well as they used to, running out of take-out containers, salad dressings, salad bar items, entrees, etc. Today "Katie" (name on my receipt) at the deli checkout was rather abrupt and coldly told me "for future reference this checkout is limited to 6 items or less". I usually have a couple of extra very small items in addition to my take-out salad, etc. as I am running errands on my lunch break from work. Another checkout person has always been super friendly and has always said "no problem at all" to check out the other items. Today I had a grand total of 8 items, which included a greeting card, and 5 very small other items. Not a huge stretch. No one was in line when I walked up to the counter and only one gentleman walked up just as I left. It isn't posted anywhere I could see about the "6 or less" limit. I really felt she was not very customer friendly at all; she just wasn't in the mood to ring up my "over-limit" order. Hopefully they will start being a little kinder to their customers who choose to patronize their store, and pay a little more attention to keeping the salad bar area stocked; as it can be a wonderful place to grab a quick bite, and could be rated 5 stars! read more

I purchased what was left of milk that was on sale at the Meijer on 28th St and Kalamazoo Ave, and asked for a raincheck for more. They refused and suggested we come back as they would be stocking it all week. I am disabeled and it is not easy getting to the store ,especially when you have use a gas guzzling van. I will never go back to that store again. read more

A compliment to the Customer Service provided to me yesterday by a store director named Danielle, at the Knapp's Corner location. I stopped in early that morning to purchase a room humidifier, on my way to babysit my sick grandson. When I opened the box to set it up later that morning - it was obviously a return and was a filthy mess (who does this!l??). At that point, I could not leave or take my sick grandson out to exchange it. I was also concerned because there were only a few left that morning in the store. I called to see if there was any way that the pharmacy or grocery delivery staff could bring me one. Danielle could not accommodate that, but she did offer to get one off the shelf before they were gone, she checked it over, and she said if I could find someone to come by, she'd put it at Curbside pickup without making me bring in the junk one. I so appreciated her finding a workable solution, and to top it off, she included a $20 gift card with the pick-up. This is local empowerment and caring in action and what is so often lacking in retail these days. She is to be commended. Thank you very much. read more
