Pricing is outrageous on groceries, compared to Walmart and Kroger. The leafy vegetables in the produce section are wilted every time I go there. I would rather travel a little farther then ever shop there again. read more

I was happy with the variety of options at this particular Meijer but very disappointed in the way it was managed. I get that staffing is difficult and there is a shortage in hiring but to only have 2 no limit check out lanes open during the peak after work hours is ridiculous and a sign of poor management. Especially when there were only 3 non self check out lanes open. Waited over 30 minutes in a self check out lane to check out before I ended up going back and putting my frozen popsicles back and then waiting again another 15 minutes in a non self check out lane. By that time it was close to 7 pm so the lane moved faster only because the rush was dying down. But still the wait was over 15 minutes. read more

Meijer grocery store chains have a bad habit of continuing to sell Old nasty Roasted chickens and fried chicken, well after it has been on the shelf for too long. Yesterday I was at the Meijer grocery store in Noblesville and found that a roasted chicken, the last one, was old, and all dried up. So I asked the ladies behind the counter, if they had any fresh ones because the one that was on the rack was old and dried up. The older lady wanted to argue about it so I showed her the old dried up chicken and she closed the lid back up and said it's just fine. " tag says it's fresh until 5 PM. " my reply was, you have to be kidding me, you saw that the chicken is all dried up and is old yet you're going to leave it on the shelf until 5 PM hoping that somebody buys this old dried up chicken? We went back-and-forth about it and I realized I was talking to an idiot, even though she was the manager of that department. It is this kind of stupidity that causes major accidents on the freeway and malpractice in medical care. Commonsense has gone out the window and people want to believe that what "it says" is what it is, even if the evidence proves otherwise. Somebody in the Meijer company needs to figure out that these old ladies are selling old chickens that are all dried up and need to be thrown away. Nobody wants to buy an old dried up chicken and we don't care if it says 5 o'clock, 6 o'clock or 10 o'clock. What we care about is getting a fresh chicken to eat and not what the damn tag says! read more

Such a large place that has clothes, food, and everything. I like to think of Meijer as a step above Wal-Mart. They usually have a greeter here and the fried chicken is good just like the other place. Lines are faster at Meijer and the selection of products is better too. Restrooms are right up front and easy to find. I usually buy organic generic food items, but my kids are picky about a few name brands and they can be found here. Hard to find items can sometimes be found here, but it isn't anything like a Whole Foods or specialty health store. Everything you want from a big box store. read more

I live in SoBro--so this Meijer is great for me based off of location. ALSO--I love the door greeter who works on Sundays--he always makes my day! Aside from the location and my favorite employee, let me count the ways in which this Meijer lets me down day after day: 1. We are vegetarians and the Morningstar brand is almost ALWAYS out. We try to avoid shopping on Sundays, because it is almost guaranteed to be sold-out. ESPECIALLY THE BUFFALO NUGGETS! 2. Parking is a nightmare. Between getting on and off of Keystone, and always having to avoid near-death incidents in the parking lot due to drivers in a hurry, this parking lot is not for the weak-hearted. 3. I feel like everything I always need is out of stock. Lettuce, mushrooms, Curry sauce, and literally all the things I need always seem to be out of stock. It is not fun when you need to run to another grocery store for a few items. If you love your vegetarian buffalo chicken nuggets, buckle up. Prepare for disappointment. Other than that, it is an average Meijer. read more

It is convenient. It has most of what I need. It sometimes has great clearance prices. Bathrooms are usually clean. Most employees are nice. On the busy days or evenings there will never be enough cashiers so do not go when there is a major storm coming or during the holidays if crowds and waits are not your thing. Some items can take a while to get restocked like butter during the holidays. The entry to get in and out on 56th street is weird and you are not supposed to turn in coming from the west end of 56th street nor left entering into 56th street. Someone should redesign that because it is an inconvenience and makes no good sense. Overall, it's nice to have a large grocery and more option that saves me a 6 mile drive to the next closest Meijer. read more

This Meijers is very nice and clean. One thing I noticed they carry items often hard to find. Also they seem to be better priced than Krogers. But even better it is by Aldis so you can knock off all your shopping needs. read more

The first time a walked into this store was a OCD shoppers dream. Everything was stalked, straightened, and clean. I was asked if I needed assistance finding anything almost anytime I made eye contact with an employee. Now mid-summer it's a little less stocked but still in very good condition. The staff are friendly and helpful (although I sometimes wonder if it's really because there are a lot of teenage boys...and "how are you doing today Ma'am" is a free pass on a pick-up line). Last time I checked, you didn't need a neon orange safety vest in the produce section. Shouldn't you be collecting a cart from somewhere in the parking lot?...Just an observation. While on the subject of produce. Meijer has one of the biggest produce sections out of all its competitors. Now I'm not sure how great the quality of produce is but with a little bit of effort, I'm usually able to rummage through the piles of apples, green beans and potatoes to find good looking fruits and veggies. Now the registers: the mark of a high quality and customer focused grocery can easily be determined by the number of registers open and the length of the lines. I have never actually gone through a "manned" line at this particular Meijer. Meaning a staff person is scanning the items, asking you how your day is etc. etc. I prefer (like I believe the demographic of the surrounding neighborhoods do as well) the self checkout lanes. They're fast and usually hassle free. Go there on a Sunday morning and there may only be one regular checkout lane open, but there is always the plentiful option of the self-scan. Overall, I would give this new Meijer a thumbs up in both service and cleanliness. I believe there is room for improvement in the produce section, but it is helpful to keep in mind that you get what you pay for and the prices at Meijer are not going to put a dent in your pocket. read more

Meh. That's about all I could say after visiting here for their opening day. I do thank them greatly for giving away random gift cards for the first 200 people. I got my gift card and was ready to get a few items I needed for the weekend. Sadly, there just wasn't anything that impressed me. And for as long as this store has been in the works of being built and the anticipation, it really isn't anything out of the ordinary. It's a normal Meijer. That's it. Things to note: the facilities and store is clean. The service was extremely helpful and greeted me with "good morning." They have nearly everything stocked so it was a great opening. BUT You'd think that with a BRAND NEW store, you'd make it more catchy to the eye inside, different than other locations... Nope. So don't expect anything out of the ordinary from Meijer. This location is in a tough spot because of all of the major competitors within 2 miles of it along keystone - aldi, marsh, Kroger, Walmart, target. Basically all of the major grocers. Sadly, I wouldn't say I found anything that would convince me to shop here compared to my normal routine of other grocers, where I would normally get better deals. It's a staple Meijer. I don't have another Meijer to compare this Meijer to, so my review is based on other grocery stores in the Broad Ripple area. I'm going to break down my thoughts based on the pros and cons of this location: PROS: 1. The location is very convenient! I do 90% of my grocery shopping at Aldi, and used to have to drive to Kroger to get the few items I can't find at Aldi. Having a grocery store directly across from my usual spot makes it that much easier to grocery shop. 2. They have a decent selection of specialty vegan items - which is typically why I end up at a 2nd grocery store after my weekly trip to Aldi. They have Daiya and Follow Your Heart vegan cheeses, and since they opened they have had a BOGO sale every time I've been there. They have vegan alternative meat brands including Gardein and Beyond Meat, and have a nice selection of both brands. They have both Ben & Jerrys and So Delicious vegan ice cream! Woot woot! In the produce area, there is a cooler with tofu and non-frozen vegan meat alternatives such as breakfast sausage and lunch meat. 3. The store is very clean, which is to be expected since it's a brand new location. It is well organized and easy to navigate, although I have to adjust to the layout being different than Kroger and am still figuring out where to find items. CONS: 1. Their produce section is pretty weak, which is a problem for me since one of the few the reason I venture outside of Aldi is for specialty produce items that Aldi doesn't carry. I've noticed a lot of their produce is sold in bulk bags, which is great for families but not for someone who just wants one or two of an item. Additionally, the produce isn't very fresh at times. I've had to pass up items that they had in stock that should've been taken off the shelves because they had gone bad. 2. They tend to run out of items that I'm looking for, and take a long time to restock. The past two trips I've made to Meijer, two weeks in a row, they were completely sold out of La Croix. I've run into this with several items, which is frustrating when I am only looking for a few things to begin with and 2 of the 5 items I need aren't available. 3. Their prices are not competitive with Kroger. There's not a huge difference, or I wouldn't go there, but it's enough of a difference that it's noticeable for the few items I do pick up at Meijer. For example, blocks of tofu are less than $2 at Kroger and almost $3 at Meijer. Even their store brand products aren't competitively priced with Kroger brand. With that being said, I will gladly continue to make a weekly trip here in hopes of finding the few items I can't get at Aldi. Would I buy an entire week of groceries here? No. I actually did on the 4th of July due to Aldi being closed, and the price difference was significant. If Aldi weren't an option, I would drive the extra few miles to Kroger for a larger shopping trip. read more

By far my favorite Meijer in the city. Everyone is always so friendly which is refreshing, especially right now. I'm usually there very early in the morning or very late at night. The greeters are always at the door and they are genuinely excited that you are there. I'm also a couponer who likes to go through self check (annoying right). However, people are always willing to come and assist me when I'm having technical difficulties. I would recommend this Meijer to anyone, even when I lived on the Westside for awhile I still came here. read more

Love this location ! I can always find what I'm looking for and when I cannot there is always someone willing to help. I go mostly for the things you are unable to find anywhere else like plantains, oxtails, oyster mushrooms, and vegan products. There are always great sales. The only thing is the wait. Although there are several self checkout lanes. I feel like there should be more cashiers available especially in the evening when its extremely busy. I also observed someone from management addressing a guy outside soliciting. I over heard him saying Meijer's has a zero tolerance policy for solicitation. I truly appreciate that no one wants to come out from shopping with someone in the parking lot harassing them for change. I was in this Meijer again just earlier today and was frustrated yet again by how many--by count just over half--employees from greeters to shelf stockers to check out clerks, all of whom had face masks, were wearing their masks pulled down around their neck or, if they had them up at all had the top of the mask beneath their nose. Tons of parking, they hired a great friendly staff, and the store has a huge selection of everything! This Meijer has very poor customer service. There are a few employees who seem to not want to be there and quite a few of them have a really bad attitude. I come in and leave and the greeter does not greet me. He looks away and goes about his business; not that I care because that's a common practice for this particular greeter. Then I am checking out in "fastlane 126" and as I was bagging my items, this man who works there decides that he was going to put all the baskets he is collecting off the floor next to the space where I am checking out, preventing me from checking out; when there was a checkout counter right next to mine that was completely unoccupied. Initially, I stood back, but he was acting as though he had no idea that I was there, so I moved in and continued scanning my items. He always looks disheveled and sad when I see him at Meijer, and he always goes out of his way to be unkind. His hair is always messy and uncombed and his face always looks pissed off. These are the people who complain about customers being unkind to them, but they go out of their way to be mean and offensive to the customers who are good to them or are there to just shop and go on with their day. It's sad that people just seem to go out of their way to behave badly toward others. This is disappointing and sad, to say the least. read more

This giant Meijer is a dream come true for an OCD shopper like me. The whole store is very organized and clean with many staff ready to help. It can be very overwhelming at first to know where to go to find what you need, but anytime I have had a question, there has been an employee eagerly willing to help. From fruits and veggies to clothes and cleaning supplies, this grocery store has anything and everything you can think of. Most of the products are reasonably priced- Not Walmart cheap but also not Whole Foods expensive. Best of all, it is a very convenient location being located right on Keystone! Tip: Register for Meijer's "M Perks." You can get so many great deals. I had a $12 off purchase deal and ended up getting my $8 checkout for free! read more

First off: you know you're getting old when going to the new Meijer is the highlight of your day. I have been patiently awaiting the arrival of this store for months! The selection here is great. I feel like it has a slightly larger selection than similar Meijers in Indiana. They also have some great in store pre-made food selections, Ben's Soft Pretzels being my fave! The layout will take a minute to get used to, but they have so much inventory it's understandable. I found everything I was looking for (and many things I didn't have on my list but had never found other places) at reasonable prices. It's clean. The service is great. There are plenty of open registers, but many self-scanners which I love. The only reason this location does't get 5 stars from me is because I would have loved to see a salad bar and a lobster tank. This is my preferred place to shop since it has just about everything. The store is massive and prices are good, much better than Marsh. They had a massive parking lot so that's never an issue. They have plenty of cash registers and also the automated ones as well so I never have significant waits with my purchases. They have a great beer, liquor, and wine selection. Very nice store and it should be a huge plus for the area. I expected bigger and better deals for their grand opening, but we were there 12 hours after opening maybe we missed them. New store opened and we went the 2nd week. The sales were awesome for the grand opening week. We got some great deals. And this has to be one of the largest Meijer's store we have ever been in. The variety of products available in all departments was truly surprising. Got some great wicking towels and headbands for the upcoming summer runs. Food in the grocery was fresh and tasty. The Indiana local wine section is just awesome! Though I'd like it if they stocked more local wines I have not seen such a wide selection of local wines anywhere else. Meijer will probably be my new Aldis' supplement store, taking over for Kroger in the areas of ginger root, unique produce, and international items. This new store is well-designed and clean (for the time-being). I'm a little iffy about the entrance situation, given Keystone is so busy, but will utilize the 56th St. stop light when I need to make a left hand turn in/out. I took advantage of its opening "Buy 1 Get 1 for $1" deal in the women's clothing area, but it was really difficult to find clothing options that fit my more monochrome, utilitarian style (i.e. there was lots of neon colors, ruffles, golf-mom-chic, lace, flowers, bedazzlements, blegh). I'll stick to Target for more stylish/modernized clothes and lifestyle items. read more

This is not only the worst Meijer I've ever been to, it's one of the worst stores I've ever been to. It's as if Meijer decided to take all the crap they couldn't sell at their other stores and dumped it into this store. Produce selection is terrible and old, and not remotely close to the quality of produce or selection found at the Carmel or west 38th St. Meijers. So disappointed! My experience with the staff made me feel like I was wasting their time, not at all helpful, and I saw several employees goofing off all over the store. This store also seems to be significantly more expensive than the two aforementioned stores. Felt like I was in a Super 8 with Marsh prices. I'm so very disappointed with this store considering how excited I was about a Meijer locating close to this area. Will not go back here again unless it's an absolute emergency or I start hearing there have been tremendous improvements to the management, employees and the quality of what they're offering. read more

Three stars because of the long waits at checkout....there are days your bread could go stale while you wait in line to pay for it! Seriously though , while the lines can be bad, you are usually greeted by a friendly cashier. Meijer has just about everything from gardening tools to beansprouts. There's a really good toiletries selection and the seasonal section is always fun to check out. The veggies are always fresh and they have a good selection of vegetarian "meat alternatives". The frozen vegetable selection is a bit disappointing. However, if you're looking for ready made meals, check it out! They also sell Graeter's ice cream for less than I've seen in other places. read more

I'm torn. I love Meijer, but this one disappoints. It's true-they are always out of the things you need! Even in the middle of a weekday, there are always several things I need but they are out of stock. Makes me not want to shop here. Also, the self checkouts ALWAYS screw up on me, and I have to wait for a staff member to come over and reset it, usually more than once. Welcome to Keystone Rd. Mr. Meijers!!! Not gonna lie, I was a little worried about this Meijer opening up on Keystone. It seemed a little random considering there are residential homes directly north of he store. However, as I drove back and fourth (usually on my way to Target) I got excited little by little that a Meijer would be coming about. I attended this store during the first week of its opening and loved the grand opening events they had. The sales were unbelievable! I loved the buy one get one for $1 on the clothes! We saved quite a bit of money because of the sales. The store was so clean and organized. The only thing is, it was hard to find things... Maybe because I was not used to the layout... So that is why I give this location 4 stars. read more

The Meijer at 5550 N Keystone Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46220 is a great place to shop. The aisles aren't to cluttered. It's relatively easy to find things. The best thing about this location is the employees. This is one of the few grocery type stores in the area with honestly friendly employees. No scowls when they perceive you to be in their way. Legitimately pleasant people. Whatever this location is doing to find good people, I hope they keep doing it and work to retain the employees they have now. The Kroger at 6220 Guilford is the only store that tops this Meijer as far as employing people who convey a positive attitude. read more
