I wish I could rate the store higher, but as a senior citizen with mobility issues, I am extremely frustrated. I have shopped at Taylor, Woodhaven, Lincoln Park, and Southgate. At the Southgate store, the electric shopping carts are always in a state of disrepair. Many times, the battery will die before I'm finished shopping! The upholstery is worn, and all of the carts need to be replaced! None of the other stores I've shopped at are this bad. In addition, the ladies room is always dirty. Whether it's upfront by customer service, or in the back near the pet department, they both smell bad. There's usually tissue on the floor, too. I am extremely disappointed that the Meijer in my neighborhood is not a very welcoming place to shop. read more

This Meijer seems to be always busy and short staffed. I go here out of convenience at times, but I prefer other locations.

I tried to get gas here and was the worst gas experience I've had in a while. First pump card error. Multiple tries. Second pump card error. Multiple tries. 2nd card. Error as well. Tried contactless payment and kept asking me to tap again and again. I went inside and asked for 12 gallons. The card that had all the errors at first worked fine.. I went out and pumped 2.2 gallons. The guy loaded $12 instead of 12 gallons. Another attendant happened for be outside and I asked if any pumps worked. She tried with my card and experienced the same issue. Never, ever, EVER!! have everything i need from ingredients to complete a meal, to toiletries, to anything really! I always ended up going across the street to Kroger to pick up what meijer was out of so I just made them my regular grocery store. They are always very well stocked. besides, who can go back to to waiting in line for 30 minutes or more once you've become used to very quick in and out at Kroger? Meijer is quite literally lined with registers that run the length of the store with on the average, two open. read more

I have been a loyal Meijer shopper for about 8 years now. I've been shopping at this particular location for 5 of those years. At first, it was great. Especially once they updated it. Then covid happened. Ever since then, the lack of stock on the shelves is borderline obnoxious. 90% of the time I shop at this location, I have to go to the Woodhaven location to get the items the southgate Meijer did not have stocked. read more

If a could give ZERO stars i would. The cashier at the self check out was very hateful. She yelled at me when I asked for her assistance. Apparently, it is NOR her job to help customers checking themselves out, even though she was working at the self check out. Then, when I needed to exchange an item with my receipt, I was told by the customer service personnel at the desk they just didn't have what I was needing but took the item and refused to give my money back or the item. This meijers is staffed by very incoherent cashiers, poorly run and mostly belligerent and yelling,too. Oh, and the store is dirty most times when not busy! Oooh, super fabulous! Love the new look!!! So bright and shiny! Such nice wide aisles! Meijer, hoping to keep up with the new Kroger Marketplace across the street, has decided to clean up it's act. This store used to look haggard and worn, dark and dingy. It's remodel has made it a stunner! Why does this place get 5 stars and the Kroger 4? Because-1. It's been a while since I have been into Meijer. They have really made the place look nice. I was happy overall with what I was able to purchase. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the store. They could use a little more help in the store though as the entire grocery staff seemed to be missing around the 9-10pm hour. Go here than the other meijers in Lincoln Park. This one is much bigger with friendlier people working. It is layed out a little different but easy to go through and figure things out. I would take the extra couple of miles to come here. The outside needs a little reno but if you have what I need and your recycling bottles are working then I will give you the 5 stars. read more

This evening when I showed up everything was cleaned and stocked up. The greeter was kind and greeted every person who came in. The carts were filled up so I could get a cart. I walked around and Management was nice by busy taking care of the store. I have two concerns though, one of the issues are of the Deli department. Attentive outspoken erratic rude behavior as I was unsure if it was directed at me or not while I walked away from the Deli department as it made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcomed. I also have a complaint of one of the self check out cashiers as he is a young man as being extremely loud, obnoxious, erratic and a concern that he was talking to himself, or yelling at customers. I did confront him about it as He did not apologize, instead he insisted and said "okay, would you like to make a complaint? I can call my manager over here right now! And then rushed and picked up the phone with a bit of an attitude. And then I said no I never asked that, I just wanted to see your name tag and to let you know, your behavior is not so well, and you're not acting right. I reminded him that he is serving the customers not to work their and act like a clown. This location offers more inconveniences than any other Meijer store in the area. If you shop in the morning hours; be prepared to wait in a long line. As there is usually only one register with cashier open and no self check out lanes. When questioned management about situation; was simply brushed off as unfortunate inconvenience for customers. This location needs a management overhaul; this store needs management that shows concern for customers relations and convenience. read more

Usually pretty dirty, employees are often rude. Had one employee grab my sons arm because she thought he was climbing on a self checkout, but he was trying to help me grab things to carry. I now have to check expiration dates as I've bought several items that already expired. Good prices, if you're willing yo wade through the bullshit and nastiness. I know one of the reviewers said nice wide aisles. It used to have them, but they have filled up the aisles with over-wide displays and extra shelves, so two carts cannot travel next to each other on each side of the display. So when the stockers are stocking those aisle displays and chatting with other employees, there is no room to get by them. The beautiful remodel is now completely cluttered. Maybe put some of that clutter over by that odd pistachio section over by the organic veggies. But props to the greeter on the grocery side most days. He is very attentive and sweet. Please keep him! This store has polite employees for the most part, but no matter how much they remodeled the management is terrible, the inside of the coolers are nasty, and it takes longer to check out than it does to shop. Never enough open check out lanes. When the new store opens across the street I will never go back to miejer. read more

I waited 20 minutes in line tonight when the cashier closed the line because of a malfunction. Rather than open a line to accommodate those of us in line we were all forced to get into existing line. I then waited another 20 minutes. Is there no one who supervises this store? Neither the director nor his associates are ever available. So much better than the Lincoln Park or Taylor location. A lot cleaner and organized. Maybe its the location, I'm not sure. Either way this is my store of choice for most things I need to run and pick up quickly, or even to grocery shop. I shop here daily, even through the remodeling. They are always under staffed on the registers and the bottle department. I've called for help (from my phone because the red phone never works) to the service desk to ask for help .... ex: bins are always full!!! And no one comes. Only reason I haven't left, is because I had hoped the new grand opening would prove worth waiting..... yeah Im still waiting! read more
