I like Meijer much better then walmart. It truly is my late night grocery shopping store. However most of there deals you need to buy ten or five of the item to get any discount. Another issue I don't like is how they never have real people cashing you out at night. I just hate do it yourself aisles, especially if you have a cart full. read more

I hate going to the Meijer. Always super busy and under stocked. The only have 1 or 2 lanes with cashiers and you have to wait in the line for 20-30 minutes for service. They more open lanes and cashiers as this is a pretty busy area. I'm being generous giving it 2 stars. read more

They don't like to restock their hotwheel section. Truly sucks. I've came up here multiple times as I am a big time collector and seeing all the other selected aisles restocked except for the hotwheels truly suck. There's quite a few collectors that come in trying to search for the new stock of hotwheels but it sucks because it remains the same for weeks untouched. read more

I am a fan of Meijer, but this one is not my favorite. I did have friendly service at the fish counter and check out. To be fair it was busy, and part of the problem are the other shoppers who can be rude. Some of them think they are the only one,or they are more important. That is not Meijer's fault. Some of the ailes need to be widened because they get clogged easily especially the beauty ailes. read more

The Meijer at Hall RD. in Utica, Michigan has the most terrible door greeters and floor staff. The Floor Staff acts like they are doing you a favor, when in fact, you are the one spending your hard earned money. The Greeters barely say Hi and their is on that is a younger guy and he doesn't say anything. The other day though he did wave. But, I do understand that the older ones are working past their bedtimes, so they get a pass. Nobody seems to have excitement there. I was thinking of applying for a job, but my Wife's friend told me that it is the worst place to work. I guess that Walmart pays more, but they are not that good. The place that we go for produce and meats is Randazzos or Vince&Joes, and sometimes Ninos. Meijers never has the sale produce available and their meats are horrible. Much larger grocery section than what we have at our local Meijers. Found a few things we don't have at ours. Clean although if people drive their cars like they do pushing carts in that store there are going to be a lot of accidents in the neighborhood. It was a bit difficult to find things due to layout being a bit different than what we are used to but overall nice store. read more

Coming on a Saturday morning, I knew I was taking my chances, but I found everything on my very detailed list in less than an hour. The store is clean and every employee I encountered, asked if they could help. The other customers are also friendly. Shopping here feels more like a small town grocery shopping experience. The produce is beautiful, the meat looks great, fresh & well packaged. For someone as particular as I am about those two departments, being impressed says a lot. The lines were no longer than any normal store, especially for a Saturday morning. My cashier was very nice and didn't make me fell at all rushed even though the line continued behind me. She bagged my groceries very well and consideratly; meat alone, dairy together as well as produce & HBA items. I thought her name would be on the receipt so I could do a personal call out for her fantastic service, but it's not. For the people that seem to think the layout is funky, I completely disagree. It has all your basics and standard needs around the perimeter and the "extras" in the middle. While this concept is different than most of the Meijer's I've shopped, I believe it's the trending change and a good one. Moving from Muskegon to the metro Detroit area, I did have my concerns about the grocery stores down here. I find that I get much better service here than most of the stores I frequented there. Very happy that this is my "home" store. read more

Awful. I went to this Meijer tonight because I wanted to see of the prices were lower than my normal grocery store and if the produce was better. However, even if the prices and the produce were better, which they weren't, I wouldn't go back based on the service. I spent much more than I do at my regular store, the majority of the produce was on the verge of bad and the service was terrible. Not only did ok the cashier, Myah, not even acknowledge us with a hello or a goodbye, she was laughing and joking with a co-worker in the next lane and texting. A lady named Octavia waited on me today. She has more interest in chatting with her co worker than paying attention to the customer. When I worked at a store years ago we were not allowed to talk to co workers while waiting on a customer as it was the best way to WASTE a customers time and show DISRESPECT. read more

Run, do not walk, away from this meijer. Go to Kroger, go to 7/11, go to the gas station; go anywhere but this meijer. At 2:00 on a Sunday afternoon, when everyone in the city is able to shop, only 1 out of 10 can/bottle machines was working, so fifteen people had to stand there in misery for over 30 minutes. Lines for self-scan were halfway back through the store. Regular lines took forever to move, and they did not have nearly enough cashiers. They are remodeling, so it's a disaster inside, and no one can find what they need. Worst bottle return experience in my 47 years. I would rather eat glass then go there again. read more

The staff are always friendly and helpful. They also greet other smile when you pass by which is a nice change from Walmart. The checkouts can get long but the cashiers are efficient and outgoing (no waiting 30 minutes to get out!). Nice selection of products throughout the store. Only downside is that sometimes sales don't ring up at the register. read more

Well for a 24 hour store, I can't even buy cooked chicken in the deli area at 8:03 p.m. As I was ordering some deli stuff, I asked the lady if she would be able to get me some of the hot chicken before the other woman put it all away. She said that area was closed. I couldn't understand why the woman who was putting the hot food away couldn't just put a few pieces in a box for me, but I was told that once she is closed, she is closed and no one can get any food from there. This was very frustrating, since I was looking right at the chicken, but was told that it would not go home with me. So, as mad as I was, I wanted to mention this dilemma to the store manager. So I went to the customer service desk and asked to speak to the store manager. The lady working the counter made a call and told me that the manager would be up here to see me shortly. After about 5-6 minutes, a woman came up to talk to me, but she wasn't the manager. Liz said that the manager (also a woman) sent her instead. That surprised me that a customer wasn't important enough for the manager to spend any time with. Liz said that maybe the chicken was expired. Interesting term. The lady at the deli told me that the hot food was closed, not expired. So that means that if I came at 5 minutes to 8, I could have gotten hot chicken, but at 8:05 p.m. that same chicken would be classified as expired. When I brought up the subject of Meijer being a 24 hour store, yet I couldn't get any hot chicken at 8:05 p.m. Liz made excuses that other 24 hour stores close their delis early also. Well Liz, they all don't. I left Meijer very frustrated and went down the street to Kroger. Their deli was open and at 8:40 p.m., I got some hot chicken! So apparently, it's not important for Meijer to be a step above the rest. Do they really care about customer service, no I know they don't. Last year I lost my phone at another Meijer store. When I arrived home and realized that my phone was not with me, I borrowed my friend's phone and started calling my cell. No answer. Once I figured out where it might be - MEIJER in Marysville - I called the store and they said that someone did turn in a phone of my description a couple of hours ago. I told him that I had been calling it hoping that someone would answer, but he said that when phones are turned in, they go and lock them up in a safe. I thought that was a fairly stupid thing to do since most, if not all people, will call their phone to see who answered. Most times, the person who found the phone usually calls someone from either recent calls or frequent calls. Since I have an old flip phone, it would be very easy for someone to try to locate the owner, but it is Meijer's policy to just go lock it up right away, so no one will answer it and tell the distraught owner the location of their phone. Meijer has some serious issues (I hear quite a few from others) but they truly don't care about their customers. I guess Kroger cares more. read more

I have been a customer for over 30 years and have given the store time to work out the kinks.....but I am DONE!!! I'm moving on. Since the renovations it takes longer to check out, they no longer carry some of the brands they use to. I hear complaints every week about the length of time to check out. They use to offer unlimited self check out and now the limit is 20. read more

Worst Meijer I have ever been too. Waited in line for 25 minutes, cashier was excruciating slow. All customers complaining in lines. Return wasn't handled properly and cashier had no idea how to work the new chips work for cashing out. I will drive to 23 and Gratiot moving forward. read more

If you're coming to this store, make sure you have at least 15-20 minutes just to spend in the line to check out. Most days there's no more than 3 lines open. Many times I have experienced unfriendly staff who are unwilling to help. I asked an employee if they had any more of a certain item in the back and he literally said "I don't know" and WALKED AWAY. read more

Beware of the pork. On Oct 12 I bought spareribs with an Oct 13 exp. date. They were marked down. I put them in the oven today. Oct. 13 and the smell was sour, awful. My go to super market. They always have everything I need in stock. They have a wide variety of foods. My only complaint is that they don't have enough checkout lanes open and there is always a long wait. By the time I get to the register, my ice-cream has completely melted. read more

I wanted to write a special review here about one of the deli clerks. My husband and I do our regular grocery shopping here & we always stop by the deli as I like to pack my kids lunch with different sandwiches or roll ups for school. Today, I was having a bit of a rough day, and I knew that we were running low on deli meat, so I decided to wait in the line despite how I was feeling. Larry served me today! I've actually had him serve me a few time as we visit frequently. I just want to say, he always does a remarkable job slicing my meat! I'm a little bit particular and he is always so patient with my requests, and he even reccamends to me some other meats & cheeses and offers samples to me on a regular. I never feel like I'm just a number, I always feel like a valued customer with him. This is the type of service my husband and I look for & it's why we keep coming back! I'm actually to the point that I request him by name every time I come for my meat now. Thank you for always doing a great job, Larry! I hope the rest of the crew can learn by your example, because they rarely get my order correct. You rock! read more
