I went to my goddaughter's Debut, which is a huge, extravagant 18th birthday in the Filipino culture -- similar to a Quinceañera. I bought a dress from Shien and it was absolutely gorgeous, however it needed some alterations. I needed the dress hemmed, and I wanted to add a slit for some extra pizazz. I'm pretty short so I often have to get my long dresses altered, and normally gravitate towards dresses with a slit to accentuate my legs. I don't know anything about dress alterations, or how slits are created. So when I asked Melba if she could cut a slit in the dress, I asked knowing that there could be a chance of it being impossible due to the dress material, etc. My girlfriend also needed her pants hemmed. We got our clothes back after a week and it was PERFECTION!! Melba is incredibly nice and made my already beautiful dress, into something more stunning. I highly recommend going here for alterations. Her shop is also very cute, and she carries cute outfits for any occasion. Melba is a great spot for Moreno Valley / Riverside residents. I rarely need alteration services, but have had work done in the past. With Melba Alterations, I had to wait 12 days and paid $120 to have a dress taken in. I have waited less and paid less at other locations in Riverside for similar alteration projects. That being said, the job was done correctly and communication was excellent.
