We all got a recovery juice or smoothy (turmeric tiger x2, doctor x1, kidney x2, hulk x1) and all thoroughly enjoyed them! We all got different meals that included - portobello salad, creole omelet, complete omelet, nutella crepe x2 and the quiche. I give a 3/5 star because service is pretty terrible - they continued to interrupt the meal and seemed to rush us out with the check (of which they could not split so we had to use a sheet of paper to assist them) and were rude when delivering the food. It's clear that they are simply providing a product (delicious one at that) but not a service. I make a yearly trip to Greenwich to do a lengthy bicycle loop. After I'm done I stop into Meli-Melo for a bite. There aren't many options for casual dining in Greenwich, but this one is excellent. Meli serves soups, salads, sandwiches, and crepe's. Everything is delicious and it is not expensive. The couple who run Meli are very nice as well. I think that they could franchise this business and make a fortune. And maybe buy a home on Round Hill Road. read more

I can only write a review based on my quick in & out visits here. Either grabbing a smoothie or calling ahead for a lunch take out order and heading straight to work. I have to be honest in saying that Meli-Melo's Smoothie & Juice menu does look appealing on paper- but I can't say the same for taste. My favorite Smoothie cafe just shut down, so I resorted to Meli and another location. Smoothies are well blended, unfortunately, fruits don't mesh well (for me) and are kind of dull in taste. Lunch here is very tasty, though. Beware--because you're going to get an insane rush of people which I don't particularly care for. But I like the food selections here. I particularly like that Meli's website highlights the entire menu. No gimmicks here. There are lots of meat and Seafood options as well as Vegetarian and Vegan options as well. For my lunch special, I chose the Brie and Herb crepe which was very light/tasty but wasn't very visually appealing. My partner had the crab stuffed crepe which he loved and we tried some ginger iced tea and a mimosa. All in all, the food was unique and tasty though a bit overpriced. The chef clearly had no idea how to cook. Sent back the omelet and specifically asked that it be prepared soft. It came back dried out again with burnt edges. Unreal. Service was terrible as well. Waitress never came by unless we raised our hand. Had to get up twice to get her attention. It wasn't even busy and they had plenty of staff. I had the Parma crepe and it was just mozzarella cheese and slices of tomato in a wheat tortilla that was toasted/microwaved. This was not a crepe and it was not good. The prosciutto was two slices on top in the center wrapped around a dainty mesclun salad. They have nerve to charge $18.50 for this. I've had many crepes and this was definitely not one. My husband had the turkey club but they ran out of turkey so they said they could do it with grilled chicken instead (their suggestion and offering of replacement for the day) the chicken was a thick slice of cold cut chicken that they grilled. Cozy little spot right on Greenwich Ave. Great place to fuel up before a day of shopping! They had a very extensive menu with lots of variety. I ordered a cappuccino, French onion soup, and a strawberry and banana Nutella crêpe. Nothing disappointed!! So delicious! There was even outdoor dining in December (with outdoor heaters) which I really appreciated especially because so many restaurants have stopped offering that as it's gotten colder. I've come to this place a number of times, and have noticed recently that the quality has decreased. Smoothies are not consistent. For example, some days you may get more banana, other days, there may be a lot of strawberry and apple juice. There also is a huge tendency for chunks to miss the blending process, making your to-go smoothie a hassle to drink. Crepes, I've found, can be gummy on certain days. Also, another issue with the lack of consistency. Sat here today to eat breakfast. Place was empty. Coffee was good. Croissant was good. Ordered the herb omelet. Typically, there will be a bit of moisture, even for eggs that do not contain cheese. NOT the case with my order. It was so dry, the eggs sucked the moisture out of my mouth. I think eating a piece of cardboard would have been more appetizing. It was also tasteless. I took two bites, then couldn't continue. The salad dressing was also a disappointment. Too oily. So I sat and nibbled on a piece of my toasted baguette while I sipped on some coffee. Instead of our waiter asking why I barely touched my food, he ignored us. Then he brought us our check and took our plates away, without asking me if I'd like to take my dish to go. I am unimpressed with this experience, and will not be coming back here. We were seated sort of close to the door and we were freeeeezing. They really need to invest it some sort of heating mechanism. 75 percent of all diners kept their coats on. Love me some Meli Melo! This is a veritable shangri-la for gluten free foodies. They offer gluten free versions of their buckwheat crepes AND a gluten free version of the sweet crepes made with rice flour! The buckwheat crepes are savory and earthy in flavor, I've had the ham, egg and cheese and the goat cheese & salad. Both are good in their own right, but I liked the goat cheese a bit more because it tempered the flavor of buckwheat and worked really well. The rice flour crepe with chocolate sauce and strawberries is sinful. This place is deceptively filling. I ate a crepe and a half and I was full. It's one of those meals that makes you want to take a nap right after you eat. :) The only slight downside is that it's tiny. I think they have about 6 tables total and can maybe seat 20. It can't be more than 10 ft wide, so you're definitely crammed in. Try to go on an off time. Weekends are a nightmare and the crepes don't really hold up too well for takeout. A bit on the pricey side but food is all fresh and worth your money if you like portion control. I had the Buckwheat crepe with lemon shrimp and avocado, which was not filling for me...(I can eat! lol) My cousin had a mixed greens salad with chicken, beets and bread with goat cheese. We also ordered two juices to-go: Kale, spinach pear and avocado and Beets mango and mint. Both were very tasty! I'd definite come back again! FYI: We called ahead of time to check if strollers were okay but the man who answered the phone said "No." So we winged it anyway since we were walking down the avenue and once we got there the hostess was nice enough to accommodate us with a corner table near the window, moved it a bit so the baby would feel comfortable. Friend took me here while I was visiting her. We came on the morning of 4th of July and opted to sit inside. The first thing i noticed right away was that the table was a little wobbly but not a huge issue. We ordered our drinks and then our food. I got an iced matcha tea lemonade and a BEC croissant, and my friend got a tea and a nutella and banana crepe. My friend also had to go out of her way to ask for sugar and milk but was only brought sugar. The matcha tea lemonade was kind of strange tasting. I've had them before in other places and they've been more sweet but this one was wayyy more earthy. They gave it to me with a side of liquid sweetner but it disnt really help that much. The croissant sandwich was really good as was the crepe, which was very messy to eat.
