    Deep cut from grooming incident.
    T.J. W.

Recommendation: Do not come here. I've been to this groomer three times, and unfortunately, the quality has declined with each visit. Several of my friends with dogs have also chosen to stop coming here. This past Saturday was especially concerning. Our dog came home with a deep cut. The staff suggested this injury happened before grooming, even though we dropped him off first thing in the morning. When we picked him up, he was yelping, clearly scared, and we later discovered the cut ourselves. What has been most disappointing is the lack of accountability. When I reached out, their response was to suggest that I take my dog to a vet before they would even consider taking action. I'm not looking to pursue legal action--just an honest conversation and for the business to take responsibility for what happened. Dog grooming requires trust, and in this case, I no longer feel comfortable bringing my pet here. I hope future customers will take this into account when deciding where to take their dogs.

Oksana's is always professional, friendly and timely when working w/ my dog Daisy. She always looks fabulous after her grooming. I couldn't be happier with their service.

OEG Groomers is the best! We bring in scruffy shaggy Charlie and he comes out looking like a runway model! He's not scared to see them (he used to tremble and be so scared pre-grooming). They are kind and loving with Charlie and do such a beautiful job. They are amazing with teeth cleaning too! (see pics) We are so happy with everyone at OEG! Loyal clients forever now!

The best grooming salon! I drove from San Jose to Oakland to groom my poodle there and I'm amazed how pretty she is now. I know it's crazy to drive an hour to groom your dog ones a month but I want the best for my baby. No cages, knowledgeable groomer who knows the breed standards and can create a stunning look.

Our cavapoo happily walks into to Oksana for her grooming because the grooming team is so gentle and patient with her. Pretzel's coat needs special care and the team really understands how to work with her soft, curly fur. They are very understanding when I tell them there might be mats and it helps a lot that they clean her teeth at the same time. What means the most to me is how happy she is when I pick her up, it's clear they genuinely love dogs. And she looks fabulous every time!

I highly recommend Oksana Elegant Grooming, especially if you have a poodle (or a poodle mix). The grooming is top notch--some of the best I have seen in the US for poodle grooming--and very reasonably priced. I was particularly impressed with the attention to detail and quality of the hand scissoring done on my miniature poodle (shown in the photos). My dog was happy and not stressed when I picked her up after the grooming appointment, and the studio is quiet and tidy. I groomed my dog myself for 6 years, but the quality and kindness from Oksana is enough to convert me to a regular client. Thank you Oksana!

Love this place. My puppy comes home so elegant. The folks at OEG really listen to our family about what kind of style we need for our active family dog. Their attention to detail and a show quality clip is apparent every time we take her there.

    Looking so spiffy!

They were matted and the groomer, Alma, assess them ahead and let me know that they were going to have to be quite short. What I didn't know was that Alma assess their skin and gave them exceptional care with her understanding of dry skin. When I pick them up their coat was soft and I could tell that a lot of their skin issues were no longer causing them problems. She had taken great care to give them what she called a mud bath which helped their dry, itchy skin. I highly recommend giving this grooming Business a try. They are hard-working and they do know what they're doing.

They said the price is higher now because I am not a regular customer. I only groom once a year because my dog has low maintenance fur, we only get haircuts for the heat so I don't mind paying more if they are gentle with my dog. Unfortunately, the second time was a complete disaster. My dog returned home from her groom limping and in pain, which I initially thought was just a temporary ache from her arthritis. However, she was still limping three weeks later and had to be put on medication. I had to carry her up and down stairs and the car. I also discovered she had severe razor burn on her armpits and belly, which I had to treat with special creams and shampoos. She began missing patches of fur from all the irritation. She was clearly miserable and uncomfortable for over a month with little to no energy to do anything but sleep. She's extremely high energy for her age and the difference was night and day from before and after our visit. When I finally contacted the groomer about the issue, their response was kind but dismissive. They were not willing to take accountability for what happened due to my choosing to wait to reach out. I know it's my fault for not complaining immediately, but I was just so worried about my dog and busy with my life that I didn't think to complain about the groomer. I also just don't like complaining, I prefer to just not support the establishment when it's bad, but this was beyond bad so I eventually had to say something. This was a heartbreaking experience, and I won't be returning.

I wonder what he sensed. I will post a photo of how he looks after an excellent grooming elsewhere, and another of how he looked when I picked him up from Spaw. I didn't post a review at the time because I felt the owner was nice and meant well -- but I can't drive past the business without a shudder.

We've recently moved to this area, and all our previous grooming experiences elsewhere have been positive. I had provided Taj with clear instructions for my dog's grooming: poodle paws, teddy-bear face, and a summer cut for his body. However, my dog came back with visible razor burns, uneven patches of fur, and nails that weren't trimmed. I was also in absolute disbelief that his face was completely shaved, contrary to our discussion. Along with the traumatic experience for our dog, Taj's interaction with my husband was less than professional. Instead of acknowledging the mistakes, Taj was defensive and lacked courtesy. Given our experience, I am genuinely surprised by the high reviews Taj has received.

Front desk could be better. In my multiple experiences with them, it's felt more like checking boxes than providing customer service (over phone and in office). Won't get into the nitty gritty (because all other staff was great) but I was able to notice differential service between me and other owners. Everyone should be treated with equal respect and care, would not want this to be mistaken as bias. My pup had such a good time, I dont think he will associate the vet with something to be scared of. My pup had a mild ear irritation (no infection) a couple of months ago, plus it was time for his yearly visit, so I had him seen and he was deemed well enough for his vaccinations. No other issues. I felt a nudge of upselling as they suggested treatments he didn't need but dismissed that at the time. He had 4 shots due, so I had 2 only of them done (due to cost) and asked if I could come back for the other 2 shots in a couple of months. I was told that was fine. Fast forward 3 months later and I make my appointment, for a vet tech appt. only, to administer the shots. They say fine but call back and ask if I'd like to see the doctor. They said they are in training and mistakingly set me up with a vet tech. I declined needing a doctor's exam and said a vet tech would be fine. They say ok, see you next week. When I show up for my appt, 10 minutes early as requested, I was addressed after 10 minutes and told they were setting things up. 20 minutes later they said they were working on the estimate. 30 minutes later I asked what was going on, politely, and they said, they were almost ready. 45 minutes later I'm told "actually we can't administer the shots without a doctor." This was a totally unacceptable and entirely preventable experience. Even if it's policy (albeit rooted in upselling) to require a doc there for a vaccine, that was not the agreement/what I was told and my time was utterly wasted. I don't blame the personnel there. This felt like exactly how the system was supposed to work to upsell more services my dog doesn't need. I look forward to finding a place with better communication and service closer to my home.
