Pretty frustrated with the groom my dog received from here. My parents were babysitting my dog Sadie since I had to move across the country. I asked them to take her to the groomer, and I typed up specific instructions with coat length, how I wanted her cut, etc. My mom and sister took that sheet with her to the groomers. My sister told me there was some confusion with the coat length, so I asked her to call back and clarify that I wanted Sadie's fur to be 3/8" long. My sister said they replied "We'll see what we can do." I picked Sadie up 4 days later, and her fur is definitely longer than the length I wanted, they did not cut her nails and dewclaw, they did not shave her paw pads, and they also failed to shave butt area (all of which were in the instructions given). They also unevenly cut the top of her head. This groom was not cheap ($30 more than we usually spend), and it's ridiculous that they're charging this much just to not follow any instructions. I don't feel like I got my money's worth because now I have to get her groomed sooner than I usually do due to the long length. I would not recommend coming here. read more

I once heard a groomer tell me she never sees a Dalmatian at a groomer unless they are a show dog. We've been coming to their very reasonably priced Toenail Tuesday. I am retired and with 2 Dalmatian boys. Neither of them like it when I cut or grind their toenails. The older one is still not a big fan, but doesn't refuse (as he does with me). The younger one has recently begun, it appears, to like coming here. Is it for his toenails? Maybe! Happy that Kaycee's thinks of potential customers like me! We brought our very shaggy labradoodle and they did a terrific job getting her a short cut for the summer. Since her hair is extra curly/doodly, it had some tendency to mat even when we were brushing her 2x a day. They advised us on the best cut and trust them about their recommended timing between appointments. Even though they aren't the cheapest option, they certainly aren't the most expensive in the bay area where grooming has become obscene. I feel like I should start carrying their cards because we've recommended them to every doodle mix we've met in the Oakland dog parks for the past three weeks. read more

I have a little chorkie named Apple and I have taken her to several groomers looking for the right one. My priorities: kind people, reasonable scheduling, reasonable price, and I wanted to get my dog back looking and smelling fresh and clean with all requested services complete. To me, these are basic wants from a groomer. However, it took me several tries with different groomers and even more asking around before Kaycee's was recommended. We have now been going there for about three years. First of all, the people are glad to see her when I drop her off and I can see firsthand that they treat all of the animals with kindness and patience (even the harder ones). Second, they always answer right away when I call and schedule me at the requested time, even if I call the day before or even day of. Third, Apple is 5.5 pounds and they charge $65 for the full deal: wash, dry, haircut, nails, etc. She is fairly hairy so I appreciate that the haircut is included at such a good price. Last, they always trim her exactly as I request, which I highly appreciate because, being such a hairy girl, she needs significant trimming of her beard and mustache so she can stay neat and clean. They always ask what I'd like them to do when I bring her in, they know what her "usual" is, and they do it expertly every time. Biggest take away: they all clearly love animals and are kind, gentle people. This is especially important to me because I had an experience at another groomer in which I overheard them being rather mean to a dog-not physically abusive, but just mean. This is my baby, she's very little, and I do not want to hand her over to anyone who may treat her unkindly. Okay, that's enough of a novel on Kaycee's. Stumbled on this place while at Mike's Feeds looking at the baby chicks. With the recent heat wave, I was very stressed out for my FURRY babies and how they were handling the heat. 2 of them also started scooting around which means it's time to cleanout the bum. I messaged them on yelp and got a response within a few minutes. I had originally only asked for anal glands extraction, nails clipping and feet trim - but for $35 more I would get a full grooming ($65) I decided to go with the full grooming. They require proof of vaccination which luckily I had copies of on my phone. I appreciate that they were able to fit Whiskey in on such short notice. He came home very svelte looking and happy to report no more butt scoots since then. He also got a party pack of snacks and a report card saying he was a good dog! I've made an appointment for dog number 2 and will follow up with one for dog 3 next week and my sister's dog as well! They don't have a multi-dog discount but they do have a frequent visitors card for a free 10th groom. read more

I've been going to a dog groomer a couple of blocks away from house for the past few months, but I never liked how my dog looked so I looked for a new place to take my dog Binky. Luckily, I found Kaycee's on yelp and got a hold of them quickly. When I dropped her off, they were so welcoming and kind. They got to know Binky and took her off my hands. Her session was finished an hour earlier than they estimated and when I picked her up I was happy with the results. I gave her a really bad hair cut previously and they fixed it right up and trimmed her face. They also gave me a few free snacks, a stamp card, and a discount for the next hair cut. Lastly, they gave me a cute report card that stated how well she did and they let me know how she did during her hair cut. I was never treated this well at the previous groomers. The service is kinda hit or miss for me. I've taken my mom's lil Shitzu there twice and they have had a problem completing the grooming each time. This last time, I asked them not to cut his hair as short as the last time. They cut his body fur super short but his face fur was untouched. She sat down and called him over and he laid down on her feet and she loved on him. Bodie melted and gave one of his smiles and I knew held be alright.
