We love it at Claudia's! We've been bringing our doggie who's a 4yr old beagle to the San Leandro and Castro valley location since he was a puppy!! I'll be cross posting this review on their Castro valley location too. our beagle used to get so nervous going to the groomers but he's had no issues with having his grooming appointments with Claudia. We usually call ahead of time to see if drop off is okay, usually it is fine and they can take him right away. We usually take him for a routine grooming session and also when he gets into some naughty business and wants to rub himself in the grass in who knows what but it leaves him smelling very stinky!! No worries tho cuz Claudia gets him smelling so clean and brand new. We usually book a bath, ears, teeth cleaning, nails, trim excessive paw hair. Beagles are prone to ear issues so we always include the ears!! cost is affordable but honestly, finding the perfect place is PRICELESS to us. Our dog seems comfortable being here, and maybe secretly enjoys it because he doesn't get nervous during drop offs anymore LOL We love our doggo so much and love that we found a dog groomer who is reliable, trustworthy, honest, and so friendly to us and Sage our dog. We went here a few times for nail trimming without any problems. During our last visit, we were up charged $5 for difficulty and another $5 for using a certain tool (dremmal?) to cut our dog's nails. Our dog was in their care for no more than 5-10 mins and we were never informed or asked if we approved the extra charges. No explanation of fees or up charges were posted in the lobby either. This was frustrating as it never came up before with our dog and there was no communication during the process. They justthe added charge at the end. We won't be returning. read more

I was looking for a new groomer in the area so I decided to give them a try. They were able to take my dog with short notice. The person I talked to on the phone was very nice. When I got there in person, they just asked me to hand over my dog without asking how I would want him cut. I also had to let them know he had a disability which won't allow him to stand for a long time. It was a red flag for me that they did not ask for medical history or his shots. It makes me uncomfortable knowing they take any pets. They took about 5 hours with my dog which is a bit longer than I've had to wait in the past. They shaved him well and didn't leave it uneven. Although the cut was nice and the prices were reasonable, I don't see us coming back here again. read more

We moved to san leandro less than 2 years ago, and it was a struggle for me to find the best groomers for my pup. Luckily, i found a cute little pet parlor so close to my house. Claudia and her crew are Angels who took me in the same day to groom Bruno. Claudia seemed really genuine and is passionate about her job. they made me feel comfortable and assured my dog will be in good hands! If I can give Claudia negative 100 I would. Today I took our corgi for his 830am appointment for bath and cut. I asked what time will they be done the young lady said around noon. So I go pick up my Chester at noon and i immediately asked for Claudia to see if she was done with my corgi, young lady said "oh she's not here yet" I'm confused. All they did was give my corgi a bath and left him inside his kennel till noon. I couldn't believe how IRRESPONSIBLE Claudia was. Of course I was furious because I had an appointment and it's been 3 1/2 hours and NO ONE called me to say the IRRESPONSIBLE Claudia didn't come in. Long story short, I get my corgi out of that stinking place. Before I left I was telling EVERYONE how irresponsible they were. The guy that works there says to me "oh she's always like that" then the other male groomer and the two lady groomer were just nodding their head and whispering that their OWN BOSS Claudia is terrible. Mind you they spoke no English but they sense the complaint I had. That was my sign to get the hell out of there. I payed full price and let. I call Claudia and explain to her how disappointing I was and all she said was "so you want to take your dog back here so I can groom him" I said Never again will I stepped in her animal house. Guess why she did. It didn't even say sorry and she just hung up on me. I'm taking this to our local news KRON 4 I have videos of our conversation in how she was rude over the phone with no apology and hangs up on her paid customer. This is not done yet. I'm moving forward in a bigger complaint. I haven't even talk about the anxiety they put my dog through. That's another complaint. Hmm what can I expect from an incompetent business lady who doesn't care any longer about her customers but just money. This is a terrible place. If your new don't go here. My family and I have been using Claudia's for grooming services even pre-COVID. We really loved using them for grooming services then and we continue to be pleased with their services today. We get our bichon poodle mix groomed here and they always give her the most beautiful cuts while also treating our pup (who has a buttload of anxiety) with genuine care! It really shows in their work. To make an appointment we called the number on the Yelp page and drop off was simple! Make sure to wear your mask for pick-ups AND drop-offs. Also, for payment, they don't accept credit cards at this time but from what I can remember from the signs on the door you can pay with cash, check, Zelle, etc. There may be more options so if you're in the area, check the signs on the door OR alternatively ask when you're on the phone with them to make your appointment. Affordability -- 10/10 (very affordable, comparable, and goes beyond expectations in services) 2. If I could give 5 1/2 stars I would! I've been going to Claudia for a while now, and I love that I can call her when I need an appointment because she will take Louie in that same day. Her shop is clean, and her staff is very friendly. I feel secure leaving Louie with them because I know he will be taken care of. You can tell that she has a passion for what she does and cares about her clients. Yesterday after getting home, I got a call from Claudia because I had forgotten Louie's collar at her shop. She told me to text her my address & said she would drop off his collar on her way home. How sweet is that?! Her prices are also super affordable, and from my experience, their services usually take between 2-4 hrs, so you know they are taking their time. I took the time to post this review because I was slightly upset. This lady lied about her knowledge of the continental Poodle clip. When I spoke on the phone with them, they acted like they knew the haircut I wanted for my dog. Then she texted me two pictures to figure out what style was the correct cut two hours after leaving my dog with them, lol, and I knew something would go wrong. she placed the pom poms on the wrong part of the dog; she didn't clean his face or paws, ears, cut his nails, and she didn't shave well his legs. She had him for fourth and half hours, which shocked me then. She wanted more time! Like, are you doing a bear?!?!? She wasn't very polite either. So, the lesson here is; that if you have a dog that only needs to be shaved down or needs a bath, she's suitable for it, but if you want something more high-end or a specific haircut style, find someone where else to do it because she lacks grooming knowledge. Claudia has been Jason's groomer for about 8 years. In fact, she is who gave him his very first haircut. When Jason turned 1, like the cool (obsessed) dog mom that I am, I threw him a birthday party. Invited everyone I knew with a dog & for those who didn't have a dog, told them to borrow one. No dog, no entry. All the dog guests were very cute but one stood out. His haircut was exactly what I wanted Jason to rock. I asked the person who brought him but they had no idea who groomed him because this particular dog was borrowed. Thankfully, I was sent the groomers info by the following day. The first time meeting Claudia, she knew exactly who the other Yorkie I went in describing was & Jason walked out of there looking exactly like him! I followed her when she opened up her shop in Castro Valley. I would make the long drive every time Jason was due for a haircut. I have tried other groomers because of the distance & they always mess up his hair. Claudia is the only one that gets it perfect every time. Jason is not scared nor does he cry when I leave him with her (he's cried with other groomers). I've walked in & have seen him playing & having a good time. Who wouldn't be happy after getting a great cut, right? I am so happy now that Claudia has opened a second location in San Leandro. It's only a few minutes from where I work which makes it so convenient! Another important fact that I should mention for anyone with a small dog is that Claudia cares so much about her clients & their pets. A clear example is not scheduling Jason when bigger dogs are there. There have been times when I call her last minute for an appointment & she tells me she has an opening but has a big dog during that time & would prefer if I chose a different time. We are consistently happy with Claudia and her services! Prices are affordable and location is even better (less than 5 minutes away for us! Can't beat that laziness!). Decided to wait until after a few visits before I review due to an unfortunate incident at another groomer before we found Claudia. Our dogs are fairly simple dogs and we bathe them in between sessions; but we know when, and at what point, it's time to leave the grooming to a professional. Our Shiba Inu mix has a double coat that just attracts alllllll da grease no matter how deep we think we're cleaning her. Claudia a miracle worker and always manages to degrease her good and get her back to her fluffy self. For our pom, I always ask for a simple trim all around because I don't want to get rid of his cute beariness. She does exactly that and even manages to trim around his belly & boy bits without accidents!
