Wouldn't return... Went there for our first time last night and our order was messed up we ordered a spinach appetizer and it never came. When they went to correct our pizza they brought a burnt one. One of the few places where you can get gluten free pizza and dairy free cheese. It's a big deal if you have allergies. I got the philosophers or today and it barely had any meat. Most times the orders don't come out right the first time but they do make it right. It's a little pricey for pizza but as I said if you have allergies this is the spot. read more

Our waitress was awful, she took one drink order wandered away, 10 minutes showed up to take our food order, the rest of us had to ask for drinks. We requested ricotta on top of pizza, she said it's mixed in. We didn't see it or taste it. Had to ask two servers for a plate there wasn't one for each of us. Great service! Staff and manager extremely friendly and professional. We had planned to take our group of 74 to another restaurant and were shocked to find out they weren't ready. Up until last night, the food has been consistently good here. It was busy, but the service was adequate. I ordered my "usual", the artichoke/spinach dip, a bowl of Magic Mushroom soup, and an avocado hoagie minus the onion and mayo with vegan cheese instead of provolone. The dip and soup were delicious, but after eating about half my sandwich, I figured out why it didn't taste good. Instead of just the bread being put through oven and then the ingredients put on it, the lettuce and tomato were put on, and then the bread was toasted resulting in a mushy, horrible-tasting base for my sandwich. The avocado wasn't very fresh and was a bit brown in spots, and there were no sprouts on the sandwich at all. It was a struggle to finish the sandwich, but I was hungry and didn't want to make a fuss and send it back since we were dining with guests. I have had a stomach ache ever since. I will return to MM someday, but it will be a while because it takes time to get over something so bad. read more

Oh my goodness! Today was a great day to grab a bite at our local Mellow Mushroom. The service was amazing, Isaac did a great job. We ordered the garlic cheese bread, a caesar salad, and a medium pepperoni pizza. All tasted DELICIOUS!! The marinara sauce is always so great and the garlic bread was for sure my favorite. We came right before the dinner rush, so our food was out promptly. Totally recommend this place! read more

This place isn't bad for a pizza place. They have a wide selection of pizzas and drinks. However, I feel like its lacking in something. The crust is good, but sometimes they don't cut the pizza well enough so it makes it a little difficult to eat. The service is a hit or miss. In our continuing quest to try all the new restaurants in the revitalized downtown Arlington area, this weekend we ate at Mellow Mushroom. The decor is very nice, colorful, and fun. Atmosphere was great. We had the garlic butter and Parmesan pretzel appetizer - they were amazing. Probably the best pretzel I've ever had. Our pizza was the Jerk Chicken (specific to this location according to the menu), it was excellent. Great flavor, portions, and the crust simply cannot be beat. If you love a great pretzels, pizza and atmosphere I highly recommend Mellow Mushroom. We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit there and look forward to our next trip. read more

I gave it one star because it wouldn't let me give it 0 stars. The service sucked. Only saw our waitress two times - first time to take our order and the second time to deliver our food. The food took forever to arrive...which I could totally understand if we'd ordered a pizza but we didn't. Plus the place was pretty dead when we were in - three other tables were being used. I gave the waitress $10 for my $9.61 bill and she didn't bring back my change (I know $.39 isn't that big of a deal but it's the principal of the matter). Overall I will never eat at another Mellow Mushroom again. read more

This was my first time in the place and I was not impressed with the front end staff. There was no one at the door to greet you and I started to get a menu and seat myself. The waiter brought me the wrong sandwich, some mushroom on pita and I ask for Avocado on pita. The thing that saved the day was the cook... The sandwich even being the wrong one was delightful and the prefect tempture to enjoy. The manager was freindly and on top of things when the server was not. I think he was new and just didn't know the computer well yet. I did notify the manager and I am sure she will see that he is tip top next visit. Mellow Mushroom has jumped shark and totally gone commercial. This particular location is huge, and the tables are really crammed in. They lost the feel of the small, hip, pizza joint that you encounter in ski towns. My pie was not up to their high standards. I was very excited when I saw MM had spread to Texas, and close to the Ballpark to boot. Expensive for pizza. Great draft beer selection with lots of micros. read more

I was never too interested in trying Mellow Mushroom since it's a chain and I figured it would just be kind of meh. They do have alot of gluten free option which is neat but I ended up eating here without my husband so I can't speak to those. But what I can speak to is how surprisingly tasty the pizza was! Lots of unique toppings and the crust was really good. Chewy and garlicy with a large "pizza handle." I got a personal Red Skin Potato pie with slices of potato (because the crust just wasn't carby enough for me) and huge bacon chunks and a creamy drizzle of spicy ranch. Very fatty-style but very delicious. Definitely had to take some to go. The service was nice and the location is very groovy looking (I think "groovy" is exactly what they're going for.) I believe the overall highlight was that there was a changing table in the men's room (I was there with my SIL, her husband, and their baby)...very progressive! read more

Came in a couple days ago as part of a large party reservation. I was very impressed with pizza and the service. Waters were already poured and pizzas were out as soon as we arrived. Went in the first week it opened and had a good time. Large party of 10. Inside was full and the place was busy, but we got a big table out on the patio, which was fine. Servers were a little scitzy, but that's expected at opening, I was just worried it was going to take forever for main dishes to come out. Is pretty pricey, $27 for a large specialty pizza, but I got the Mighty Meaty and it was very good. Others who ordered pizza said the same, seemed very fresh. I ordered the pretzel appetizer, and when it seemed like it was taking awhile asked the server to make sure he had gotten and he said it was taking awhile as they hand tossed and made them fresh. He wasn't kidding, best pretzels I've had since I can remember. Main food came out 30+ minutes later, which was acceptable on a busy night. Only hiccups were that even though they came up to each one of us and wrote down exactly what we had to split checks, my drinks and appetizer was on someone else's bill. Also, my gin and tonic came out as either gin and soda, or gin with no tonic syrup left in bar gun, so that would be gin and still soda, Have had this happen at other places at other times and from experience, for some reason the server never seems to grasp what you're trying to tell them...so just switch to beer instead. read more
