This was recommended by several people and... this was just a bad experience overall. Pizza was cooked quickly, but it fell short on many fronts. Ordered the Meat Thin Crust and what I got just wasn't appetizing. The crust tasted like stale pretzels, not enough cheese to bind the ingredients together, and all of the toppings kept falling off. The one point that puts them above CiCi's is the toppings did taste fresh, but I get much better value at CiCi's than I do here. read more

First and last time to eat at a Pie Five.... WORST pizza I have ever eaten! The sauce is basically stewed tomatoes, peperoni was thin and flavorless, and the crust was raw and soggy. They did give a generous portion of mozzarella cheese, that just caused a grease to pool up in the center of the pizza. Only part edible was the crust. At least the crust was cooked. The people who work here have gotten increasingly stingy and grouchy as time goes on. The pizza taste good at the very least but $12 for a 7" pizza is pretty stupid. I would rather go to Little Caesars. Half a scoop of spicy marinara and being told no when asking for more is also insane. read more

Pie Five is one of my favorite options for pizza because you can add so many toppings without being charged extra! I already have to pay more for a gluten free crust option, so not being charged an extra $1 per topping is really wonderful, especially if you're like me and you enjoy a bunch of veggies. Build your own pie or choose from their menu. I always build my own: gluten free crust, spicy marinara sauce, pepperoni, extra cheese, mushrooms, jalapenos, garlic, kalamata olives, banana peppers, fresh basil... sometimes I also add the basil pesto drizzle! Pie Five has my heart. Literally, those artichoke hearts are great, and I stack 'em up always. My personal favorite crust is artisan thin crust, but I appreciate deep dish and Neapolitan whole grain too when I mooch off of my friends' pizzas. The best part? The price. I am a loyal Circle Crust member and that means I get more bonus points per swipe of my card whenever there's deals - which are a-plenty - that make my tummy (therefore, heart) satisfied every time. Want me to change your pizza life? ADD GARLIC AND THEN ALFREDO SAUCE on your pie! All the time, that's my secret sauces that make my world go round. I call this place the Chipotle of pizzas because you can pick and choose what you want, and how much of it. I've only been here a handful of times, but each time I was presented with the best customer service from the employees. I know many of my friends like to choose items from the menu, but I like to create my own pizza. The few times I went, the staff was pretty humorous. I'm a huge fan of mushrooms and ham, so I told them to just keep stacking those two items until I told them to stop. They did it without hesitation and a smile, sprinkling on little bits so that the pizza would still look appealing. It was an overwhelming amount of toppings; to the point that the person helping me was concerned that the pizza dough would not thoroughly cook. With that being said, I know personally that the employees here will allow you to put on as much and as many different types of toppings as you please. The service is quick and efficient while you are able to watch your pizza go from a block of dough to perfection. The cashier was also friendly and the location was extremely clean (compared to many other pizza locations in the metroplex). 5/5, definitely try it out if you're ever around the College Park area. The set up is like this, the staff works behind the counter to make your pizza while you stand on the other side of the small plexiglass-like and tell them that you want more onions and bacon bits on your own custom pie. Or you can select one of their specialty pies (6.49) and salads they offer but you can also switch out ingredients. There are breakfast pizzas that run about 4.99 but if you come before 11am, they are half price (no kidding). The pies are around ~9 inches in diameter. It came out nice and hot (crust was crunchy and thin). A bit expensive but hey, it's UTA. read more

Hot, fresh, and mouth-watering personal pizzas ready in minutes! I've already been here several times, and yeah- still loving it! The format is similar to that of a Subway in that the people working on the other side of the counter construct your delectable personal pizza. Basically, you can order one of their specialty pizzas or you can use those as a base and add whatever you want on top of that. Feel free to ADD AS MANY EXTRA TOPPINGS as you want/can, and get your money's worth! They have a wide variety of meat and veggies to add on, so definitely try new things when you go there! If you're craving something manly and meaty, the Pie Five High Five is definitely a high five for me in that it is packed with plenty of meat (but again, feel free to ask for more bacon, sausage, etc.). It is pretty decently priced for an on-campus restaurant, so I think it's definitely worth the $7-8 or so that you pay! This is arguably one of the best places to eat on the UTA campus. You order a personal sized pizza (11") with the crust, sauce, and toppings of your choice. It's then prepped right in front of you and out in no time. The $7.99 pizza includes unlimited toppings! There are also preset pies that you can choose from if you're not feeling creative. The good thing is that you can still add additional toppings. The customer service was great and I was in and out in no time. This is good if you want a customizable pizza quick but not necessarily the best pizza in Arlington. If you don't have a parking pass for the campus there is a garage right behind the building that has parking on the first floor. read more

So I decided to stop in and grab a pizza and to my surprise I see a woman sitting on the counter, where the pizzas come out of the oven! There were other patrons in the restaurant but she seemed unbothered. I ordered my pizza because it was late and I was starving. When I got ready to pay the woman climbed down off the counter, took my payment, and then casually climbed back on the counter to have a seat when clearly there were empty seats in the restaurant. I got my pizza and left but I was so disturbed that once I got home I wasn't able to eat the pizza, opted to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich instead and trashed the pizza. The next morning I was still upset about what I'd witnessed so I tweeted about my experience, no response, so I contacted their corporate office to which I received a crappy response saying they apologized and they offered me a personal pizza (mind you they didn't even ask what I ordered) with a 14 day limit to take advantage of the offer. I contacted them back and told them no thanks given they didn't know that I what I ordered and I didn't feel there should be a time limit on when I could go back and reorder, besides I would've had to go to a completely different establishment further away because I would NEVER go back to that establishment and I never received a response back! These people do not care about their patrons and this was completely disgusting! read more

Pie 5 on UTA campus has been my favorite place to eat since I became a student. The staff know me and my girlfriend not only by name, but by pizza (pepperoni with extra feta and black olives, please). We love coming here, more for the staff than the food itself, and eat at Pie 5 at least once a week. However....today there was a new person (or at least someone we've never seen before) on the line. (12PM, Friday, 9/8, first on the line taking orders). She had natural hair in a high ponytail and a very visible sparkling cross necklace that hung low enough that it was nearly brushing against the food as she worked with it. She expressed visible irritation as I began to order, and while I understand that i am soft-spoken and there are a lot of noisy people around, i was quick to repeat myself in a louder tone; only to have her roll her eyes visibly. When i asked for pepperoni, she placed two slices on my pizza, and when I nervously asked for more, she tossed another piece on and then visibly shoved my pizza to the next person on the line, making a clattering noise from how roughly she dismissed me. The next person on the line, a sweet boy whom i recognize, kindly put the olives and feta on my pizza and smiled as he asked if that was all. I tried to brush the first girl off, not wanting her to tarnish my good opinion of Pie 5, but to my dismay, my pizza came out visibly bubbling at the thick crust from how poorly the toppings had been placed. One slice was nearly all crust, with only a small bite of cheese on it. I hesitate to lay blame considering my opinion is already colored by her attitude, but my pizza was more than likely botched by her hasty, irritated application of toppings. I've never experienced the issue of the crust bubbling up like that before. I love Pie 5. It's my favorite place to eat between classes, both because it's delicious and because I feel welcome and even like I have friends there. I really didn't want to have to complain about this wonderful place and i hope I don't have to in the future. read more

Throughout my years at UTA, I remember my first meal here was Pie Five. I'm a big pan of personal pizzas because those are the only sizes I can finish and personalization is also a great plus! There are hit or miss days when the workers are a little more sloppy, but hey, we're all students functioning with no sleep. My favorite is anything with BBQ sauce or Alfredo sauce. I've never ordered a pre-made pizza here, however, I'm sure they're great as I've always seen my friends order those. Sign up for their rewards program as well! I did it when they were giving away a pizza just for singing up. Don't know if that's still effective, but it's still a great way to get rewarded just for eating there. The food always comes out quick! I'm in and out in about 5-15 minutes. Be sure to get the seasoning in the end! read more

Let me start out by saying, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE PIE5! I had a terrible experience with this location last night. It was a little bit after 8PM and they close at 10PM. The first person I encountered had a slight attitude and it could have been because she was ready to get off but that is neither here nor there. My husband orders his pizza and we move on down the line. I get to the part of the line where they ask if it's for here or to go. I told the gentleman that it was for here but could he put it in a box - he does. We go to pay and the man at the cash register is soooo annoyed but I remained polite. We went to get our drinks and I walked back to the counter to wait for our pizzas and my husband went to go get a table with our 2 year old son. The chairs were up on the tables for the low tables so we took them down and then that's when all hell broke loose. The workers got soooo mad that he sat at one of the low tables. The man at the cash register rolled his eyes at me and proceeded to walk to the back and then the other man walked out and said "OMG, the chairs were up for a reason, obviously!" and asked us if we would move to one of the high tables - that wouldn't have been a problem if we didn't have our little one who would've needed a high chair to eat his food. I told my husband what happened and we decided to just leave the establishment at that point. This was by far one of the worst experiences I've had with Pie5 and I will not be returning to this location. It cost NOTHING to be polite. This might not be a big deal to most but it really made a difference in our dining experience. Not to mention that our crust was super soggy and I had way too much sauce on my pizza. This place is a pretty good place for lunch/dinner under $10 :) The combo meal is a steal! The meal comes with a drink, small salad, and a personal pizza. I ordered the veggie pizza and it was not bad. It wasn't the prettiest pizza I have ever eaten and it definitely beats the grease ladened pizza from Pizza hut. I just wish the crust was a little more baked, it was a little too soft for my liking. I'll try the thin crust next time and see if I'll like it more. My pie stayed consistently crunchy throughout my whole sit down. Perfect cheese to sauce ratio. If I had one of these in LA I would be here at least once a week, yes it's that good people! Let me start off by saying that I love the pizza here! Get all and any toppings you want on your pizza :-)... I have been to the pie five in Las Colinas, great food, excellent customer service. Employees were all upbeat and happy to serve you. Having said that, now I came to this pie five by UT Arlington and was disappointed. The guy making the pizza was very unenthusiastic and seemed like he hated his job, and maybe life. Not talkative at all, very slow moving and no customer interaction. Before even finishing telling him what else I wanted on the pie he threw it in the oven. I had to go tell the guy at the register I wanted jalapeños on it. The guy at the register was no better. I might of gotten the wrong shift, but maybe with a new staff in place I would come back. Until then adios to this one! read more

Went here a few days ago, and as the Review Stars say, I would give this 3/5 "Ok". There is nothing wrong with Pie 5 but nothing great either. I had a margherita pizza and it was pretty average, reminded me of a frozen one I baked from Target in the past. Though I got a better deal for the Target one. Customer Service, Decor, and Location are all fantastic however, it is just that Pie 5 had an average pizza, small selection, and above average price that to me makes it deserving of the 3 stars. If you want something a bit better quality and a better price for a quick lunch, I would give Palio's a go, they have great lunch time specials and a wider variety of foods. But if you just are going to classes or stopping by the area in Arlington and want something decent, Pie 5 is a choice. read more

As far as chains go Pie Five is very consistent with quality. This location in particular is super convenient because I attend UTA. I can stop by and grab lunch really quick and since it is like a create your own/cooked when ordered kind of deal, it takes no longer than 5-10mins tops. The taste and quality of ingredients is always very fresh and this location sometimes does coupons and events where they give out coupons around campus so I will definetly be back! read more

This was another location that was on my list to try. Me and my wife enjoy this place and the food. We definitely like the menu and the different choices and combinations that you could come up with to make a Pizza. The pan crust was not too thick and the thin crust was not to dry thin and crispy. They both have texture and just enough bread to complement the pizza toppings. The only thing that I was disappointed about was the salad. It was pre-packaged and really didn't offer too much. The salad dressings seem to be store bought and not authentic. I will definitely be back to try some other combinations of pizzas like the pan or thin crust with pepperoni, pineapples, and the spicy marinara. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. I would think of this place as the subway for pizzas. They have suggested orders on the menu or you can create your own personal pizza for the same price (6.99). They don't charge for additional toppings which is my favorite part of it. I like to add spinach and mushrooms to mine. The pizzas very styled, but the flavor is there. I've enjoyed the two pizzas that I've had. These pizzas are all made to order in front of you (just like subway). They have a 4 variety of crusts, several meats, and lots of other toppings and cheeses. I like that it isn't that greasy. I thought the portions were alright. I was satisfied, not stuffed. The ladies who were with me barely finished theirs, but the guys wanted more... A $5 foot-long at subway is much more filling. I'll probably only come back if I get another coupon :P read more

Liked it. Had the chicken carbonara pizza and the bestie had the margherita. It could have been us but today our pizzas didn't seem as filling. Then again this time we had the thin crust. Both were really good. I was partial to the margherita. The guy who served us was very nice but the cashier was a little dry. The place was pretty empty for a friday night. UTA students must know where else to party. :-) There is a parking lot across the street and parking was free! Good stuff. The area is really nice. After we left we heard music and saw that there were a lot of people crowded around MAVS Sports Grill. We'll have to check that one out soon. read more

Five stars because the staff couldn't be nicer or more accommodating. I've visited a handful of times this semester, sometimes with large groups and sometimes alone or with a friend or two. Every visit went great. Pizza: I was tempted to dock a star here. A healthy number of visits in, and I still haven't found a standout have-to-have-it pizza. I know they've got to have one somewhere! I've tried the Farmer's Market, Mediterranean and BBQ Chicken pies. I liked them well enough, and they were definitely fresh. The staff were happy to help me customize everything... but I just wasn't blown away by the end result. That may have more to do with me and the limits of my creativity than Pie Five! Drinks: I like that Pie Five has Rahr beer, and the prices are very reasonable for being on campus. That's definitely a bonus, because a lot of times friends will want to meet up when I'm not hungry. I can show up and enjoy a good beer instead of feeling like I'm taking up a paying customer's seat! Environment: A lot of families, a lot of students. Faculty from the university. Not super loud. Great environment. It does get crazy busy intermittently; if you show up right at a rush time, you may spend ten to fifteen minutes or more in line and have to fish around for a table.
