Love Mellow Mushroom! Was so happy to se that they opened up one in Cartersville. We had no wait at all, my lovely waitress hurried up and got us a seat. We had an appetizer, which were the Sweet Teriyaki Chicken wings, I highly reccomend them they were sweet but with a little spice they were moist and had the right amount of sauce. Next we ordered our pizza I got 1/2 mushrooms with extra cheese and on the other half we got a supreme, it was huge we had to take half of it to go. I've been to this restaurant several times at different locations. The food is always great. If you haven't been, I really recommend the pretzels with beer cheese or the hummus as an appetizer. The pizza is amazing, my favorite is the Kosmic Karma but you can choose or build your own. The customer service here is amazing, they are truly all so genuine and can handle any large order I give them. Give it a shot if you are visiting downtown! read more

We went to Cartersville to visit the Booth Western Art Museum. Afterward, we were a bit hungry so we walked around the old part of Cartersville for a little while and came upon the Mellow Mushroom restaurant. We looked at the menu of eclectic pizza selections and settled on the Mellowteranean. Great choice. No red sauce, but oil and garlic base with all natural grilled chicken, onions, roasted red peppers, black olives, chives, feta and mozzarella cheeses with a side of tzatziki sauce. So good! Unfortunately they did charge us 79 cents for an extra cup of the tzatziki sauce. read more

Very disappointed in our last visit. Hostess was standing the shooting the breeze with another customer and totally ignored my boyfriend and I. Then when she finally did acknowledge us she put us at this tiny table. I had to move my stool all the way into the corner because of this thick rug on the floor. Had the artichoke and spinach dip for appetizer and it was good. Not the best I've ever had but it was decent. For dinner split the Greek salad and a small Maui wowie pizza. The Greek salad was very good but the pizza was just okay. There are too many toppings on their pizzas in my opinion. And the prices are very expensive for what you get. I used to live in Kennesaw, and our Mellow Mushroom was mediocre at best. We stopped going there because the service was terrible. Once we moved to Cartersville I gave the Mellow on Wall St a try and I LOVE it. They are always very attentive with service, and they tend to have a good handle on what they have on tap or what is out that day. The beer selection is awesome and better than nearly every other restaurant in Cartersville. The pizza is good, too. I love to stop in just for a slice or two in the afternoon. Also, try the pretzel bites - you won't be disappointed! They go really well with the beer cheese. I am a regular now and am so happy they have great pizza and great service. I came in yesterday around 6 with my wife and 2 kids. There was one person who greeted us and she wanted us to sit up stairs and I said no we just want to sit down here in a booth. She said I dont know if i have room for you then. I was baffled. Then another girl came with glasses and went to go clear off a table and sat us right down and told us to enjoy your meal, and said sorry about the wait. The server Lis was rushing and was very rude to both the greeters when more people came in the room and that she had to attend to. Our appetizer was cold when she brought it to us. But the pizza was good. I just did not like how I was first greeted. I will probably go to the Rome one they are always super friendly. Like it just seemed like to me that some people care and others do not. The bathrooms were clean. And whoever brought our food was nice and explained what it was and not just leave it and walk away. When we walked out three greeters were there and the glasses and boy told us to have a good one and the boy even got the door for us but that other girl had an like "dont mess me face". But the food was good. Guess you just have to get lucky with who greets you and who serves you. read more

Don't know where these two went but it wasn't to MM. I have been there twice and ordered at the take out. Both times the place was packed. Ordered a beer while I waited. Both times the pizza came before I finished my beer- less than 30 minutes. The service was so good I asked to service people if they were from Cartersville. Have never gotten good service from locals. The lady next to me asked to speak to the owners she so impressed and claimed to have to frequented two different MM. To no surprise they werent. Third visit since they opened. First sausage and green pepper pizza was below average, but salad was very good . Salad was good and house special pizza were very good on next two visits. Service is very slow and on third visit a calzone and pizza came out cold. Evidently , the runner for getting food upstairs did not deliver to table as soon as good came out of oven. This is the best Mellow I have ever been in!! Very cool historic building. They have 2 small outdoor patio sitting areas. One at ground level and one outside the second level. The second floor is only open Fri Sat Sun. It has a great U shaped (full) bar (many micro brews), hard wood floors, flat screens etc. Good place to enjoy a game. I am a fan of the food as well. Pizza or Calzone's are tasty!! Our service was great as well. Going again tonight!! read more

As newbies to this area, we visited the upstairs bar area with some friends, and we're really impressed with the tap selections (they definitely had a beer for every taste in our group!) we ordered appetizers and pizza, and everything came out great. The manager seemed to be helpful to his employees, and he also was interacting with the patrons. The pizza ingredients seemed really fresh and unique, and the spinach artichoke dip was to die for. The wings we ordered were kinda on the normal side, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. We didn't stay late into the night, but it seemed their Wednesday night trivia crowd were regulars. If we lived closer to the downtown Cartersville area, this would likely become our favorite place. The prices at are fair, the restrooms were clean and modern, and the staff seemed well trained and professional. It was a nice weekday experience. read more

Went with one adult 2 teens and 10yr old. They said no single slices sold even on kids menu after talking to my waiter the manager said they would do it. So I think that in itself is a good sign of management. Food was really good not bad prices a good service. Definitely gonna go back again. Terrible Service and the food was not very good either. Firstly, I was 38 weeks pregnant and they walked us past all the open booths and tables downstairs and seated us upstairs in the smallest booth in the place. My 2 year old son accidentally spilled his drink, and it took us forever to locate our server. The first server handed me a wet rag, and I guess he expected my very pregnant self to get on the floor and clean it. Our server finally walked back over and cleaned up some of it. In fact, our server was absent through most of the meal. He also informed us that part of our meal had been dropped, so my husband's food didn't come out till we were done eating. We finally got our drinks refilled by the end of the meal and our table bussed as we were leaving. Our mellow mushroom back home is great. This one is horrible! Avoid it! read more

Just like all Mellow Mushrooms this place consists of crazy drawings/art work everywhere and great pizza. Last time I was there all 3 of us got calzones and we were not disappointed. I come from a true Italian family and can be very picky about this type of food but I truly enjoy it almost every time. Between the great appetizers (hummus/chips & cheesy bread sticks), great sweet tea, and my calzone I only put a small dent in the calzone before I had to get a to go box. Service was good, but if you're looking for over the top then you should probably not be going out to places like Mellow Mushroom. Nice little outdoor patio as well. read more

Our server was amazing I hate I can't credit her here, she recommended the buffalo wing pizza and it was good. She also checked on us regularly without making it feel rushed. Have been eating Mellow Mushroom for a couple of years now, used to eat at the one on Chastain Rd. in Kennesaw, glad they brought one close to home. Beer selection is great, granted they didn't have Guiness on draft, but the closest I could find was Left Hand Ale. This is one of my family & i's regular spots for lunch usually. Kids love the pizza, husband always gets a sandwich & im a salad lover. I think everyone agrees Mellow has always been a tad overpriced but given the very limited options in this area it is what it is. Well tonight I decided to get Togo food for my 4 year old & I. Both feeling under the weather so something easy was necessary. For starters the menu on Yelp definitely leaves a lot to be desired so when I called in the order it took twice as long to actually order it after asking necessary questions plus the bartender seemed to care less. When we arrived to pick it up she was gossiping with 2 young girl customers & throwing around a few expletives I didn't appreciate my 4 year old hearing but oh well. Then $20 for iceberg lettuce & dressing, bland Mac and cheese with browning apple slices & tasteless tortilla soup. We are an industry family & it takes a lot to complain but this is just crazy. We have been disappointed with little things just a few too many times- time to find a new pizza place. read more

Ordered the house special minus the green peppers. Got a cold pizza with geen peppers. Not sure how they could do this because they claim to make it all fresh but things like the mushrooms were room temperature. I took about two bites and sent it back...just not good. It tasted like a totinos pizza that had been nuked and then had a bunch of stuff thrown on. The manager was nice and took it off my bill but I think they'd do a lot better if they cared as much about food quality as they do about colored lights and atmosphere. read more

The first half was given to me right away then I waited an additional 45 minutes for the last pizza so the other two were cold by the time I got the entire thing. No apology or discount for the wait. Never wrote a bad review on a restaurant but had to on this one. Service was horrible, waited 30 minutes for a terrible steak and cheese sandwich that had no cheese, one mushroom and a tablespoon of meat and was served on a roll so toasted it was more like a crouton, and just as dry. My friends calzone was so overcooked it was literally black. This is second location I've tried and twice have been 100% disappointed. This isn't rocket science or Iron Chef, if you can't cook a calzone without cremating it and serve a dry ingredient-less sandwich you have serious kitchen issues. read more

I'm a fan of Mellow Mushroom pizza. This was my very first visit to this location. It started off well enough. A nice lady seated me and brought me some tea. She was even kind enough to give me some BBQ recommendations for the next time I was in the area. Then it went downhill. I waited and waited for someone to take my order. Half way through my tea, I asked one of the waitresses if she could get someone to take my order. No one ever came to my table. I decided if no one had taken my order by the time I finished my tea, I would leave. Well, no one ever took my order, so I left. I ended up going to Johnny Mitchell's Smokehouse just a few miles away. I was seated, had my tea, and order taken in less the 5 minutes. Mellow Mushroom could take a lesson in service from Johnny Mitchell's Smokehouse. read more
