Terrible service- not one refill- waited almost 2 hours for food- orders messed up multiple times- waitresses simply had bad attitudes- food debris in main walkway making it easy for someone to slip and fall- we had a large party with reservation. Stopped in here last night on a whim. We're from out of the area, but ended up here for an evening drive. Saw they had a larger tap list than most MMs, but unfortunately that ended up being the only nice thing about this location. We've been to a few Mellow Mushrooms in GA, and most are pretty serviceable. This location however is easily the worst we've been to. We arrived around 8pm-ish and the place was dead. Two people at the bar and the rest were just employees running around. Like most MMs, the employees seemed mostly high school to early college aged. We were warned when we set down by our waitress that the drink menus hadn't been updated in a while, so she suggested we walk up to the bar to find out what they had available. Apparently they don't have their servers keep an updated list of taps with them. We ordered our beer and an appetizer of pretzels to start things off, then our waitress disappeared. We had both finished our beer about 30 minutes later when our waitress reappeared saying it would take a bit longer for our pretzels. I'm not sure why there was a wait, as NO ONE else was in the building. However, we could here (and see) the guys working the back screwing around with each other, as other employees set and hung out on their phones. We got to hear some loud drama about a missing employee as well. After coming back to us and saying it'd STILL be a few minutes, we hear our waitress yelling at a guy about our appetizers. Apparently they were too busy making pizza for the employees themselves. We finally got our pretzels around 9:15, didn't order anything else and just asked for a to-go box and left. All in all, a pretty awful experience. I'm not sure if management doesn't care or just isn't there, but this location is pretty sadly run. Entire place smells like stale cigarette smoke as well. Employees were smoking in the back by the restrooms. We're rarely in Cartersville, so we don't have to worry about coming back again, but I figured I'd warn the weary traveler. read more

It's good pizza and we love the honey wheat crust. My only issue is part personal. My husband and kids want cheese pizza but I'm an adult and want meat and veggies, but for me to get a personal pan pizza with everything I want on it, it costs a few bucks more than their large cheese pizza, so that's why we don't really go even though we like it a lot. Price per toppings is too high, especially when you are just getting a personal pan. They should just be a set price. I can understand charging more on larger pizzas just not a personal pan. read more

Since obtaining new ownership, this Mellow Mushroom has improved in many areas, even if it feels more "corporate". That said, this two-story location has something for everyone. Downstairs is 100% family friendly, with both indoor dining and a patio and upstairs boasts a huge modern bar with the best draft beer selection in Cartersville, including Georgia's Reformation Brewery and Rome City Brewing Company selections. There's even a smoking balcony which offers a view of the entire downtown Cartersville square. The food is deliciously prepared and the service is experienced and attentive. Mellow is always the same for the most part but this one venue is pretty cool and has a nice upstairs balcony and the place is always pretty clean. Food is about average I'm never a fan of their pizza but do enjoy salads there. There is a groupon for this place which I would recommend Nd the service here has been average. The waitress apologized and brought me a new sandwich with cooked bacon. The manager never came out to ask me about it. All other restaurants the manager will usually bring your new plate out. The GM of this location must be a tight ass because this one has the most uptight staff of any mellow I've been to and I eat at the one in DC often. Our company holiday lunch was held at Mellow Mushroom in Cartersville and we called days ahead to book a table for thirty people. It took 1 1/2 hours to get a meatball sandwich and some potatoes. The meatballs were not made in house and they had sage in them. The sauce was canned and flat. The potatoes had no seasoning on them and they were soggy and cold. The waitress was friendly and doing everything she could to cover us all but she could have used a hand. The pizza has been good in the past but anything off the beaten path is not to be trusted. I expected more at these prices. For 18.00 I got a sandwich and some iced tea. Not a fan. My ancestors are still screaming. read more

I ordered a hoagie online today and I'm a bit disappointed with the quality. When this restaurant was under different management, the bread was always toasted to perfection. This is my second experience eating the food under the new management and the bread on this hoagie was plain and wasn't toasted at all. Not what I was expecting and wasn't nearly as enjoyable as the hoagies I've eaten in the past from this location. We went to the Mellow Mushroom upstairs bar this evening for drinks after dinner at another nearby restaurant. We were told by the hostess to go upstairs and grab a table, which we did. After 20 minutes of sitting there with wait staff passing by and ignoring us, we flagged one down (the bar was 25% full at this point) and asked if we had to go to the bar to order, or if there was a waitress or waiter that handled our table. We were told well, since you sat yourself, no one knew that you wanted anything (amazing, people sitting at a previously empty table might want something from your establishment). We asked for drinks and were told well, do you know what you want, as if not we'll have to find someone that can service your table and it might take a while (as if the previous 20 minutes wasnt enough of a wait). At that point another person in our group had gone to the bar and ordered for us. It was abother 30+ minutes before the bartender finally came by asking if we wanted another drink. I find it amazing that apparently Mellow Mushroom must be making enough money that they dont feel the need to serve their customers. They lost out on an additional $60-70 tonight due to their laziness and not willing to do their jobs. Wish I had enough money coming in to not worry about doing my job. read more

First time visiting this location. Food was meh. Blah. The chicken wrap which was a whole lotta wrap and lettuce with a little chicken and virtually nothing else. I could have made a more interesting wrap at home for less than 10 bucks.....and it doesn't come with anything on the side.... just a wrap. Calzones were very average. Cheese bread was flavorless. Love Mellow Mushroom! Was so happy to se that they opened up one in Cartersville. We had no wait at all, my lovely waitress hurried up and got us a seat. We had an appetizer, which were the Sweet Teriyaki Chicken wings, I highly reccomend them they were sweet but with a little spice they were moist and had the right amount of sauce. Next we ordered our pizza I got 1/2 mushrooms with extra cheese and on the other half we got a supreme, it was huge we had to take half of it to go.
