Great place loads of choices and yes they have Gluten Free pizza! I had the small Greek Salad that's plenty big for two and we shared a piece each of gluten free house pizza. Was wonderful! Always loved this place. This location seems to be one of the only locations of Mellow Mushroom that I know of left. The 3 that were in Louisiana are all shut down now. The list of problems we encountered: 1. Paper baked into our calzone 2. Food took close to an hour for kids order to come out. 3. Adults food order messed up, one hour and 15 minutes to come out. They forgot to make one whole calzone 4. Calzones were burnt and bland otherwise. Positives: 1. Waitress was honest about the order problem. That saved her tip 2. Manager refunded the money for the calzones, but only after I showed him the paper baked in it (no apologies from management about the order mix-up or the LONG wait for food). Arrived at 9 and after a couple minutes was greeted and seated, then another 15 minutes we still had not been greeted for a drink order. It's a shame because I was looking forward to a 25$ pizza. I guess at 9 they clean up to close at 10. So Krystal Burgers it is. They did reach out to me, easy to do on social media, not much help when you and your family are on vacation and looking for a bite to eat. One of the things we were not finding very easily during our recent trip to Gulf Shores was a place with a good local beer selection. On our way to Alligator Alley, we saw the billboard for Mellow Mushroom advertising a large local beer selection. We had to give it a try. My husband ordered a four beer sample paddle, which allowed him to try some different things. (I love when places have this option!) For pizza, we ordered "Hey, Dude!" (which was a buffalo chicken type of pizza) and the Jerk Chicken. We loved the first one the best. The pizza has a nice, light crust. Great texture and taste! We also ordered the garlic bread, which was seasoned well. Service was great. read more

I would say that the area is a little weak on good pizza shops but mellow mushrooms was very good. Our pizza was light and fluffy baked to perfection. We did share a large Caesar salad which was also very good. Definitely a good spot to stop for pizza. read more

The likelihood of an Italian girl from NJ going to a pizza place and not ordering pizza is pretty slim but there you have it. Some interesting veggie options piqued my interest and I ended up ordering a tempeh hoagie which was very good (it's been ages since I have had tempeh) I appreciated that I could order a half hoagie which was very sufficient. My only complaint is the menu stated something like "served with your choice of (insert about 4-5 different choices of chips) for $1.19" Huh? When I asked our server, she clarified that it was indeed an option for an additional cost. I have no problem with the option part but the wording is definitely confusing and misleading. Then I was offered a different option (also for an additional charge) of roasted potatoes. This was not even listed as an option. These were good but would have been better if crispy. The other confusing thing about MM is that they have a full bar (with apparently a good selection of draft beer) but the menu only listed available non-alcoholic beverages so how do we know what is available? Bottom line: food was good but there is room for improvement on the menu wording/presentation. read more

The pizza is very tasty, but if you are a big fan of toppings, I would go elsewhere. My pizza boasted five different toppings and their pictures show their pizzas loaded down with toppings. I love the Mellow Mushroom. I HATE their prices. Their pizza is really good and they have a lot of vegan and vegetarian options. They put butter and parmesan on their crust, so make sure you ask for it without if you are vegan. They do have a Daiya cheese option for you, but it costs and extra $6! For a pizza total that already comes to $30 that's just too much for me. They have some different flavoured tofu options that you can add, like buffalo tofu and jerk tofu. I tried the jerk tofu this time I enjoyed it. Despite the crazy prices of their pies, I usually eat at Mellow Mushroom when I'm near one. It just tastes so good. read more

This was my first visit to a Mellow Mushroom. We chose the Funky Chicken and ordered my 6 yr old a personal pepperoni both of which were great. His pizza arrived first and when you have a starving 6 yr old that was excellent service. My only complaint was the server. Oh my goodness. This pizza is the Bomb. It came to our table hot and fresh, absolutely delicious. We had the Great White and the Funky Q. Chicken. The Great White has an olive oil and garlic base. It's topped with four fresh cheeses, Roma tomatoes, sweet onions and fresh basil. It melts in your mouth. The Funky Q. Chicken has a BBQ sauce base. It's topped with onions, chicken, and bacon. Both of these pizzas were SO good. This is a must try. It's now going to be a "must" when I visit Alabama. It's that good. read more

Always a great experience! We've eaten at Mellow Mushrooms all over the southeast, and this is by far the best one. I'm a huge lover of mellow mushroom pizza. We stop anytime we see one when traveling. We went with some family for lunch on a Friday afternoon. Our waiter didn't write down any of our drinks and came back 3 times to ask again because he couldn't get it right. We then waited an hour and 15 minutes for our pizza! We were getting ready to leave because that's ridiculous. Then I asked to speak to a manager and our waited told me he would have her come over. I had to ask him 2 more times. The manager was not phased or apologetic for our wait or bad experience. So disappointing. read more
