Have you ever written a review about the manager of a restaurant? I have not, but I'm going to do that now! I have a group of friends that meet at Mellow Mushroom just about every Tuesday afternoon. We play Mahjong, have lunch, and socialize. STEPHEN, the manager, has always been so accommodating and friendly to us and that is a huge reason why we return. We appreciate being welcomed and valued as customers. AND... The food at Mellow Mushroom is excellent! My favorite lunch is the Holy Shiitake pizza. Delish! The kitchen folks do a great job doing what they do! The servers are so kind and efficient and they treat us like family while they give us outstanding service! Normally love, mellow mushroom, but our salads were mediocre at Best. My husband's had rotten, cilantro and old lettuce in it and mine was full of hearts of Romaine with very little leaf lettuce. Won't be back to this location read more

It has been awhile since we last visited this location and it was the best experience we have had here. Our Sunday evening order was for a medium thin crust pizza. Service was prompt and good. The location was very loud, but that was the building - not the patrons. Parking was nearby - a short walk. The food was not boiling hot, but was warm enough for me. read more

My family and I came in for pizza, and while there was a small hiccup with my order, the way it was handled was absolutely top-notch. Our server, Stephen, took care of it immediately. Mistakes happen anywhere, but the real test of a restaurant is how they handle them--and Stephen blew us away with his fantastic attitude and quick response. We ordered delivery and the pizzas arrived piping hot. For people who love thick crust, Mellow Mushroom is a good choice. However, if a thin crisp is what makes you happy, this isn't the pie for you. Forgetting about the crust, their specialty pizzas are pretty good. The Holy Shiitake pie is tasty and full of umami, but the pizza is too rich for more than a single slice. The toppings are always fresh and plentiful, and you have your choice of a couple of white pies, which I like. Overall, a decent pizza for thick crust fans. read more

We did curbside pickup several times during COVID and enjoyed the food. It dawned on us we had never eaten actually in the place. Yeah- we should have stick with the masking memories- it was blah experience. It took a minute for the server to come to the table once we were seated and we decided during the wait what we wanted. That was a smart move. I ordered a salad and cheese calzone and my son ordered a cheese pizza. The only other time we saw our server was when she brought my salad out to the table. We waited 30 minutes for the entrees and I had to track the server down for the bill. The kitchen staff made an extreme amount of noise clanging things together that was not necessary and very distracting. We were seated away from the kitchen but it sounded as if we were in there next to the stainless steel appliances. I am old and grouchy and not willing to endure that again. Prices are extortionate! ~$8 to add some chicken to a large pizza? ~$4 to add a few scraps of bacon? Trying to charge over $50 for picking up 1 large pizza with 3 toppings? Absolute jokers. I can buy a whole cooked chicken for less than what your asking for a few strips dropped on top. I can buy a pound of bacon for the same price as you sprinkling a few scraps on top I can buy a whole tin of pineapple pieces for a lot less than your price for a few chunks I can buy a pound of cheese for less than your charging for 'extra cheese' You can lose my business for good with your price gouging. A staple in our rotation especially with two kids under 10... It's your basic mellow mushroom - tile floors, slightly noisy, booths and tables. The crowd is your family crowd. We usually order a salad, pretzel bites, a small pizza (double cut) and a calzone. in our family. Salads are good. Greek salad is our favorite with Esperanza dressing. We go light on the pepperocinis and banana peppers though. My husband usually gets a calzone because then he can order according to what he wants. We ALWAYS get pretzel bites with beer cheese for the kids. Then I get the kids small half pepperoni and half cheese. They will double cut it for you which s great because then it gives us 8 slices and I can grab one. Cloud 9 Wings....let's discuss. They're good. A little saucy with a bite of spice. But they can be quite messy and not crispy wings because of the sauce. If you are ok with that then they're PERFECT. Anyway, DREW was our server last night and he was excellent. Efficient, quick, not invasive and annoying as some servers who hover tend to be. He didnt hover. read more

Was our first time at the location. Sam D. was our waiter and he was just awesome. Very attentive, knew the menu and made the experience a must want to come back place. Food aaa great all around and left overs across the board. A different place to return. Been awhile since we had younger kids but great family atmosphere as well as a good bar area for those that want a little more. read more

This place had me at HELLO...the guy who seated us was so sweet and then came our service Sarah who was the absolute best with recommendations. The personalized thin crust pizza was the best we had in a long time. read more

Ordered a Funky Q with a side of Esperanza dressing for pickup. The person read me back the order, and charged me .80 for it (as she should). I had someone else pick it up, and when it got to the house there was no side of dressing. I specifically ordered it with the dressing because that is the only way I eat the pizza, with this dressing. We called the store and the manager (the male one) said all he could do was give a side of dressing next time. Overall, the order was incorrect. It is no different if I had asked for no onions and there were onions. The issue I have is I have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars at this store, and time after time, my takeout orders have been incorrect. There is always something missing, etc. The manager should have had better customer service to try and right this wrong. Safe to say I will not be back to this location. We visited this restaurant primarily to play music bingo on a Wednesday evening. We were able to get a table right away without waiting, though the restaurant did fill pretty completely by the time the bingo started at 7:30 PM. We had a spinach artichoke dip and ordered a medium pizza which was split into two different types. The check reflected roughly half the price (we now don't remember exactly what the price was) of what would have been each of the listed pizzas, and given that we had two completely different kind of pizzas, and liked them both equally, it was nice to get to try a variety. The classic crust pizza was nice, slightly chewy, and the toppings were tasty (Holy Shiitake and Funky Q. Chicken). The Spinach and Artichoke dip was just okay. The bread pieces were buttered, but only on one side,and more importantly, I was put off by the fast that the bread was soft on the other side, rather than crunchy. As you would expect, there are pizza boxes available for leftovers. Pro-tip: they had foil available so you could stack pieces of pizza on top of each other, thereby fitting more pizza in a smaller box. The Music Bingo was fun and there seemed to be plenty of participation for at least the first part of the game, though by the end of the last round, there were only a few people left. If you have not played music bingo before, there are multiple opportunities to play in the area, and it's worth trying at any of the restaurants. There are four rounds each night and each round has three winners, each of which win $5. Even if you don't win, you'll generally hear snippets of lots of lively tunes. Overall the pizza was good, though priced slightly high for the size, in my view. The spinach and artichoke dip was reasonable, but not something I would order again. But we do have a lot of $5 gift cards from music bingo, so we'll definitely have to come back. read more

Came for lunch with my daughter. Great experience! I did not being my dog, but they allow them on their patio. Which is great to know die next time! I'm so mad at myself. I have wanted to try Mellow Mushroom for years and I never have. We got two pizzas to go the other day and they were so dang good. We got a pepperoni on thick crust and the holy shiitake pie on thin crust and omg was it good. One of the best pizzas I've ever had. And I went and looked them up and they're the same ones in Arizona! I can't wait to take my mom so she can try it. Excellent! The staff here was so friendly. We chatted it up for a while as it was in the middle of the day. Great place. Next time we'll have to eat in. read more

I've been to this Mellow a few times, and it's always hopping! Service is usually good, with drinks and food orders taken quickly, and the pies pop out decently quick too. To be fair I don't think I've come here on a Saturday or Friday when I'm guessing it'd be busier though. Food is as delicious as you'd expect from a good pizza place. It's a mellow mushroom and they know what they're doing, although one place this particular location outshines the competition is their understanding of toppings, particularly as it relates to "extra cheese" and "extra extra cheese." Often times when you order this from a pizza joint they don't actually add all the cheeses, especially the "extra extra," but this place has always come through when we've asked for the cheeses. Would recommend for anyone looking for a good pizza place in East Cobb. read more

Ok, I fully admit I'm a Mellow Mushroom seeker. It has been my favorite pizza spot since high school some 20+ years ago. Timeless and delicious. And you'll find each Mellow establishment blends into the community it resides in, displaying the unique characteristics of the city. This East Cobb location opened in January and I can't believe I'm just now coming here. In all fairness, the Sandy Springs location has been my all-time favorite spot due to the 80s music and living close to it. This one is nestled in the Woodlawn Shopping Center off Johnson Ferry right begins the Starbucks (same spot as CFA). My friend mentioned it and they were doing dine in so I was onboard. When I arrived, they had a full line of cars waiting for pickup pizza in their "drive-thru" line. Good start to the night! I was excited to see the decor inside and how they would make it East Cobb, and they nailed it. For those that are unaware, East Cobb is upscale. And they jazzed this place up. Probably one of the fanciest Mellows I've seen. Mellow flare blended with East Cobb Snob. Even the tacky glittery moose head above the outdoor fireplace looked fancy. It worked. Clap, clap, clap. They have a full, long bar inside. Nice comfy seating as well. And an outdoor patio with TVs, which is where we sat. Our waitress was awesome. She was so attentive and kind, and I forgot her dang name! I'm not going to go over the menu here bc Mellow is Mellow where ever you go and consistent (unique pizzas, calzones and the biggest lil salads you'll ever eat). I always start with a lil Greek salad. It's not little and is loaded with veggies galore (mushrooms, banana peppers, olives, onions, feta, tomatoes, cucumbers and a big pepper pepperoncini). If you order that and a small pizza, you'll be good to go. We did a medium pizza and I got my favorite on my half (jalapeño and pineapple). The jalapeños were certainly fresh bc my mouth was on fire. Perfect! Another great thing is the beer selection. They always have a few options on local brews. I noticed New Realm, Dry County, Sweetwater, Cherry Street, Monday Night and Scofflaw (among others) on the draft list. They were running a special where if you buy two new realm drafts, you get a New Realm pint glass. Done son! Make sure to ask about any draft specials. They were out of the Dry County selection I wanted. I also ordered a cocktail, which is a first for me at a Mellow. The Sunset in Paradise. It came with coconut shavings around the rim and pineapple slice. While I really liked it, it didn't taste strong at all. However, I ordered a Bacardi and coke next, and the bartender hooked that one up for sure. Look, East Cobb, you got a Mellow in your area now that is TOTALLY YOU. Get your rich butts on over here and throw some dollars from your dollar tree at 'em. In the words of The Terminator ... "I'll be back". pizza is decent but pick up is impossible. Generally run 20-30 minutes behind the pick up time. It's always the same story that it's almost done but they start the order when they see you if they are backed up. They seem to push take out orders in place of dine in orders when they are busy so you may end up waiting 30 minutes past the time in the email. Unfortunately just not worth the headache. read more

I dunno if this even deserves one star. My husband ordered and picked up a cheese pie literally burned. I'm wondering how much disrespect do employees have towards customers to Serve such pizza. What a major disappointment! I haven't eaten a mellow mushroom pizza in years and I was so looking forward to it. $40 to have a small cheese pizza and a medium with two ingredients delivered. All the ingredients on the medium pizza were in the middle like you just wanna enjoy the first two bites and not the rest? The Italian sausage was more like Italian sawdust. I've never ever gotten Italian sausage that was so finally ground. It was literally like crumbs thrown on your pizza with no flavor whatsoever. Ordered wings, waitress said they ran out. Meanwhile, it was still afternoon. Well, okay. We stressed that we wanted a crispy thin crust pizza. After waiting over 30 minutes, they brought out a thick crust pizza. My wife and I complained that it definitely wasn't crispy...or remotely thin. The kid who brought it said it was, apparently not realizing that my wife and I are able to see it! At that point, we were really hungry and couldn't wait another 30+ minutes for them to try again, so we left. This is the 2nd time we went to this location and they weren't very good the 1st time either. Making a freaking pizza seems to be a major challenge for them. Never again. read more

My sister and I sat at the bar for almost 2 hours. We weren't in a hurry and just killing time before we had to be somewhere. We felt like the biggest bother to the bartender. I drank wine, my sister beer. Only had 2 but we felt like we were majorly imposing when we asked. And there was no way we weren't going to need to ask. We didn't witness anyone being asked if they needed anything. It was always others getting her attention. I've had great service here before by others but I need to learn the schedules so I don't bother this bartender again. Pizza was great - got it to go. What a gorgeous location! First of all this place is really cool! Our kids loved all of the statues, lighting, our table and the giant rabbit! Second of all the staff is incredible! They were all so nice, accommodating and really wonderful! Everything was clean and even the bathrooms were clean, neat and in order. Food was great! It all came out fast, everything was correct and they did great with all of our food allergies! On a Friday night when you can tell they were really busy with takeout and drive up I was impressed! They got a lot right and we all left full and happy! I am so glad this has come to town and hope they do well and stay!! read more

Nice to see mellow mushroom coming into East Cobb! It's located nicely in a plaza next to CFA and Starbucks. I got a large pizza thru online on a Friday evening. I did have to order 2 hours in advance since there were a lot of back orders. For reference, I ordered online at 5pm for a 7:15 pick up (earliest possible). Inside the restaurant, the booths are socially distanced and all the staff are wearing masks. They're also very friendly :) The interiors feel a bit upscaled, a nice surprise. Even though I came a little early for the pick up, it seemed like the pizza was already made and inside a warmer. I don't know for how long, however, but it wasn't fresh out of the oven. The dough was getting a little hard and dry when I started eating. Otherwise, the pizza itself is great. Definitely one of the better chain pizzas. I appreciate the more unique specialities that they offer and they're available in half/half (I got half house special and half Havana). The toppings aren't overwhelming and fit together well. If you're unsure, you could always try half half for the variety. Overall it's one of the better Mellows out there. I wish I get to try eating at the restaurant somewhat soon for the freshness and service. Would recommend trying it out if you're in the area and feeling pizza! read more

Mellow Mushroom is my Friday cheat day! I really like the roasted wings with barbecue and mild sauce tossed. Some of my favorite pizzas are the meat lovers, the white pizza and veggie. The pizza is always fresh and never disappoints. Something about the dough they make in house is what sets the pizza. The pizza is more on a higher end for cost but worth it. read more

Great new mellow location in East Cobb! Excellent pies and very kid friendly, which is a huge plus for family of four in East Cobb. Everything is fresh and new and oh so mellow...... Full bar, large outdoor covered seating area, good sized dinning area with plenty of seating, and the kitchen is open so you can see into the kitchen area. To me the open kitchen adds to the charm of a pizza joint. Also, plenty of smiling faces to help you and great service. This will be a weekly stop for us. read more

Disclaimer: I ate here at 2:00 on a Wednesday, so it wasn't busy at all, but it was kind of quiet as far as ambiance goes. The staff were very attentive and helpful. I ordered a Merry Prankster and it was DELICIOUS. The crust was a little more cooked than I would have liked but the cheese, sauce, and toppings all made up for it. The cheese pull itself was great. There were plenty of tables open however the restaurant was short staffed (so they said) and the solution they decided was to leave people waiting indefinitely. Ordered the House Pizza size medium and substituted black olives and sweet unions for caramelized onions and spinach. I have never in my life tasted a pizza so damn bland!! No salt at all (and I don't even like lots of salt), no garlic, just vibes!!! I jus don't see how, if you're even 40% competent as a pizza maker, you can mess up a pizza. It's super busy here and they're understaffed, but by he food is great and the staff does their best. I really enjoyed the food, we had mild wings, Thai chili, amd garlic parm. My favorite was the Thai chilli. I had a sunset punch or something with was pretty good to. The meatball trio was AMAZING, it's a great dish they cooked up there. One of the nicest Mellow Mushroom that I've visited. It had great service, good food, and I really liked the decorations of this location. There's both a big indoor dining area and a spacious covered patio. We started with the Spinach Artichoke Dip, that was flavorful with garlic toast slices. And for our entrees we had three medium pizzas and a couple of kids pizzas, and one person had a salad. The food was served pretty quickly and hot and fresh.
