Do not use on-line ordering and curb side pick up. I placed my order on line and received a 60 minute lead time to pick up my order. Arriving after the one hour wait I found my order not ready and no indication of how long the wait would be. After 30 more minutes my order was finally brought out to my car. I try to like Mellow Mushroom but they seem to make it difficult when by the time your food is ready you wonder why you waited. read more

I love Mellow Mushroom. I love Murrells Inlet. When I heard MM was coming to MI, I was OMG. And when we arrived, the atmosphere was great. The beer was cold and delicious. The bartender was friendly. But it took a LONG time for our one medium pizza to arrive. How long? I'm pretty sure I could have raised and slaughtered the pigs for the pepperoni in that time. I definitely could have harvested the mushrooms and bell peppers. No doubt I could have grown the wheat and made the flour for the crust. Certainly I could have whipped up a batch of tomato sauce. I could have sourced all the ingredients, cooked the pizza, and eaten it in the time it took. I will return. I have faith. But they need a turbo boost. read more

This is my family's favorite local pizza & living in the area for almost 2 decades we have tried it ALL! Their favorite is the Thai Dye and of course Cheese Pizza. I love their salads! Because you seem to be annoyed that people stand up for them selfs Good morning Adam, it's a simple order we order our pizza the way we like it I don't consider myself walking into Dominos pizza when I walk into a mellow mushroom. I tell the waitress I want my pizza well-done brown on top don't bring it out unless it's brown on top. each and every time that I've went the last three times the pizza comes out Raw! "Uncooked Cheese" The word well done collaborates with the word cooked very well. Furthermore there was no hostess again! so when the waitress seen us standing there she came and seated us meanwhile the manager is fraternizing at the bar. After the waitress told the manager that we weren't happy she came Over to our table with an attitude like we were disturbing her! We had to take our pizzas home to cook them. My wife had one slice and I had a half a slice because when I took my slice off the plate that my wife had to go up to the counter to retrieve because the waitress never brought us plates the cheese on the underside was not even cooked. I know you have your hands tied in the area but the cesspool that you have to pick from is slim pickings she has to understand if the food isn't cooked correctly she has to do whatever it is to make it right! Also the guy making the pizza along with his friend that also has a BEARD without a netting around his Beard While working in the food area. I could provide you photos if you would like. I will never go back to the Murrells Inlet store if anything I will try the store on 21st St. I do think you should have people wear the proper netting when they're cooking food for the public. read more

I have learned to be patient. But my patience button was pushed tonight when mom and I went to The new Mellow Mushroom In Murrells Inlet. From the moment we walked in the door, we encountered a terribly rude hostess. Then we were seated in a restaurant that had twice as many employees as patrons and not one server came to help us. Service and food was average.... what made me so concerned is they have it planted on the front door mandatory to wear a mask in there... inside they had 16 workers... only 2 had mask on.... the other 14 either had no mask or a mask on around their neck.... never will we ever go there again!!!!! read more

I've been to many Mellow Mushrooms in the SC/NC area, and if you're going here because you are like me and enjoy them, save your time and money. The service is the slowest and rudest I've received in a very long time. They were not busy and took us over 30 minutes to get our check after our meal. Staff is not knowledgeable of menu items. We are from Virginia and mellow mushroom is one of our favorite pizza places, but I had an awful experience yesterday with the Murrels Inlet location. I ordered online, we had a busy schedule for the day and I was a bit annoyed that 12:15 was the first pickup time for a restaurant that opened at 11:30; pizzas don't take that long if your oven is hot. But Ok, no biggie. I immediately received confirmation of my order. About five minutes later, I received the following email; "The ordering system was not able to transmit an order (#1621582682) scheduled for today. There was an issue communicating the order to the in-store system. That means: This order has NOT been sent to the store in the usual manner Orders paid by credit card will be automatically refunded. Please note a charge may appear on your credit card statement as 'Pending'. This will be released following your bank's standard hold time. The store has been notified of the order details through a backup system but the system has not received confirmation that your order was received Please call the store at 18436510909 to confirm that they received the order and will be making it. You will need to pay for this order at pickup or delivery. Please accept our apologies for this inconvenience. The technical team will be investigating what happened to this order." Wait; my order was already charged, but now I have to pay again? The charge hit my account immediately. I called the store. The first person I spoke to confirmed this, but also said they had to reboot their system and would know in several minutes if my order was ok; they would call me back shortly. Ten minutes later I called them. I'm told that the manager is on the phone calling me "now." Obviously not, as after I hang up I wait several more minutes. Finally a call back. The manager was neither friendly nor apologetic. My order did NOT go through. I will have to wait for the charges to reverse (about a week with my bank) and yes, I have to reorder and pay again if I want a pizza. Our conversation got heated, at one point he said he would call the police if I came there and caused a scene, there was simply no way this guy was going to do anything for me for the inconvenience. Nothing free, no discount, no apology. When I pressed the apology issue, I got one, but it was half hearted. Unbelievable. I went ahead and reordered, drove over and got the pizza. I observed a very obvious exchange of smirks and giggling between the manager and astaff member at what I assumed was my expense but I ignored this and even tipped. What a jerk. The pizza was great. My sister and I love going to this Mellow Mushroom. All the staff are great to us. The Magic Mushroom Soup is rich and savory. And I also love the Holy Shiitake Pizza! My sister has gotten the soup and salads and other times the meatball appetizer. The last time we were in my sister brought her grandsons and we were in the VW BUS. We had a fairly nice young lady waiting on us But she had a hard time understanding what we wanted but it was very simple. It's a new restaurant and maybe they're just trying to get the kinks worked out. There are too many good pizza sub restaurants in the area I have to wait an hour in 25 minutes at lunch. read more

Live In Murrells Inlet so try all the new restaurants that are opened here, waited a month to go to this one so they could get the kinks out . I had never been to a Mellow Mushroom before so was not sure what I would find on the menu . The seating area was nice it had a Volkswagen bus you could sit in and booths and tables . In another room a nice bar, the menu had a few appetizers , some subs and pizzas , salads and a few deserts . We got half subs I got the meatball , which was good and my friend the chicken sub they came with a bag of potato chips, so my take on the restaurant is it's a perfect place to go on a teenage or college date or to take your kids out to eat where you don't want something fancy . A two topping pizza was around 16.00 our half subs were 6.50 , 6.75 . It's a one visit place , I probably won't go back but it's an ok tourist place and I did notice they do have what they called a locals lunch special menu Mon thru Friday. Excellent service! We came in not long before they closed unbeknownst to us but we were treated like they had just opened! I ordered the mushroom soup and they had to make a new batch since it was closing time. Food came out relatively quickly. This was my first visit to a Mellow Mushroom. I also had the wings (mild, but still a little spicy) and pretzel bites with beer cheese. The pretzel bites were delicious, not impressed by the cheese though. I ended up taking my soup home and warming it up to eat (came to the table cold). The mushroom soup was absolutely delicious! We would have stayed and had some drinks and dessert if they would have been open later :) read more

First time visit to the restaurant chain and this location. Nice fresh atmosphere. Service was attentive although was trying a bit too hard so more interruptions that were needed. Pizza crust appetizer was tasty and the right portion size to share amongst our party of four. All four ordered the Steak Hoagie. The Hoagies were cold and the steak and veggies were scarce. They were more like a lettuce sandwich. Totally disappointed. Will give them a second chance to try the pizza when I get the craving. read more

We placed an order on the phone for three pizza's and were told it would be 20-25 minutes. No problem. We showed up in about 15 minutes for pick-up. There were probably 4-5 families eating dinner. The hostess, which was super nice, told us it would be a little longer than anticipated and suggested we have a beer so we did. 15 minutes later, we walked back around to the pick up area to wait. We noticed a pizza sitting on the counter for 6-7 minutes. The cook opened the box up and squirted the sour cream on top. The cook then put another pizza on the serving counter where it was left TOP open for 5-7 minutes. Noting these were probably ours, we inquired as to why one had been sitting there for a while closed and why the next one was sitting open for about 5-7 minutes getting cold. The cook took the pizza out of the box and threw it back in the oven while pulling the third one out. He then walked over to confront and harass us as we were not happy that we were being sent home with cold and reheated pizza. When the manager showed up, he blamed the issue on the hostess leaving for a medical emergency. It was even asserted we had been drinking. Yes....we had one beer in your bar at the recommendation of your nice hostess because we had to wait so long. The in-your-face cook once again approached us with threatening behavior. Yes.....we were very angry at this point that a kitchen employee had the audacity to confront a customer that was well within their right to complain about the cold pizza not only sitting open but the fact the other had been sitting there for so long. Total time, approximately 45 minutes. I have NEVER been confronted or harassed by an employee of any business before nor do I expect it will ever happen again. The cook at this Mellow Mushroom is not only a threat to the customers, I can only imagine his lack of self-control and explosive behavior around his fellow employees is a potential dangerous situation with law suit written all over it. WE WILL NEVER WALK THROUGH THE DOORS OF THIS MELLOW MUSHROOM AGAIN!! read more

When I walked in I was handed my check to pay and then they just left me holding the check book and pen , didn't say anything. Then came back multiple times without taking the checkbook back. Ps. There's no where to sit for pick up, you just stand in a 6x6 foyer in what feels like the servers station while servers and staff walk around you like you're in the way. Waited at least five minutes , until I finally had to ask someone do you seat yourself ? Girl shows up to seat us . I did not want to sit at a table so I asked for a booth. The restaurant had people at three tables. Far from crowded. She walks over to a small booth that employees were sitting at and said "they want a booth " appeared to be a manager sitting there. They get up and she puts the menus on the table. I think the table should have been wiped off before seating us after two people had been sitting there. Gross!!!!!
