Never heard of this chain before, but they're apparently nationwide. Yelpers rated this store #3 in the area for pizza (and it was right next to Krispy Kreme), so we figured we would give it a go. It's just a box room in a strip mall. I think this pizza is better than Pizza Hut, but I can't be sure tonight. It's just that I was so hungry tonight that my Marcos supreme pizza tasted like gourmet. The sauce is definitely something out of the ordinary chain delivery pizza. The crust is comparable to Pizza Hut, which tells me that they don't make it in the store. That's too bad. I give four stars because I was exceptionally hungry. Have loved and recommended Marco's Pizza of Garden City to locals and turists for many years now. Marco's changed their online ordering system some time back to a less user friendly website and the whole online ordering proccess has been going downhill ever since. Not to take it out on the local employees we stayed the course despite numerous ordering mishaps. Tonight we ordered a simple thin crust Ultimate Magnifico. Yet upon pick up we received a standard crust pizza. Should have known immediately there was a problem when we weren't shown the pizza upon pickup as we usually are. Upon going back in to question the crust mistake we were informed, with a shrug, that they were out of thin crust. They did not have any explaination nor resolution for this online order going thru regardless. They were also out of the Blue Cheese sides we ordered and did not receive, but who's counting. The staff at this store was rude. For starters my online order was over an hour after the quoted time being ready. When questioned they used the "the whole world is short staffed" line. Marcos is a hometown favorite and I counted on and received the same high quality and satisfaction from the murrels inlet location. I've had two orders from this restaurant who both magically lost the ticket as soon as I walk in, and the order needed to be made from scratch the second I walked through the door. That's not after being lied to and being told that I was waiting on one more item, only to be told by a manager that he doesn't have the ticket and that there was no ticket ever, and that it'll take 15 minutes for the order to be made after I had to read him what the order was from my delivery instructions. I get the food, and the manager is nowhere to be found so I tell the girl up front that they need to fix their system, because there's something very wrong with it that this keeps happening every time that I go there for a delivery. She tells me that they've been having problems with the system for about 2 to 4 weeks, and I tell her that they need to contact corporate them to get this fixed because this is obviously an issue that has been going on. I collect the food to walk out, and she calls me a dick head. I was being polite in telling them they should fix their problem and how to go about it to get called a dickhead while walking out. Never going to take an order from there again, and never going to eat there either even though their food is good. I hate that aspect but unfortunately, that kind of treatment cannot be overlooked. First I want to say pizza is something that I keep near and dear to my heart. it is one of my favorite foods and I do not eat it on a regular basis. I moved to murrells inlet 3 months ago and have ordered a pizza once a month for the past 3 months. The food is always delicious it's always prepared properly. And the delivery window as accurate as can be. It sometimes shows up faster than the website tells me. for being a busy tourist town on a Sunday night I have never waited more than an hour for my pizza to be delivered and that is a fantastic time frame in my experience with pizza places. And like I said it's always within the estimated delivery window. The drivers are always friendly and do a great job. Keep up the great work and I'll keep buying your great pizza. The person that answered the phone had zero customer service skills, I ordered a medium thin crust pizza with three toppings for delivery. He told me my order did not meet the minimum $15 delivery so I asked for an order of 10 chicken wings to be added thinking that would get me above the minimum. He then advised me my order was $32.30, I told him I thought it was a bit excessive for an order of wings to bring me well above the minimum order. He said the pizza was $7.95 plus a $5.00 delivery fee and the wings were $14.99 not including taxes and fees. I told him that I just wanted to cancel my order and he proceeded to hang up on me. I called back to speak to a manager but was told they only had a shift leader on duty, initially she was just as rude as the kid that answered my original call but after I talked to her for a while she did apologize for the poor service. To her credit she did ask if I would like to place my order with her but I told her I doubted if the price and outcome would be any different than the I was first quoted so I said I would just find another company to order my pizza from. I have ordered from this location for about the last 10 years, but never again. I would rather order out from Mellow Mushroom and pay 3 times the price for 10 times the service. read more

I wish it were possible to give this place 0 stars. My order was wrong from Marcos pizza at 2607 US-17 BUS, Garden City, SC 29576. I was told that the only way to fix the issue would be to have Marco's come back out, take the wrong food from me, deliver it to the person who received my order, and bring my order from the wrong person back to me, or give a 10 dollar credit. She told me those are the two options I have, and it is policy, virus or no virus. My order was over 20 dollars! During a time with a mass outbreak of a deadly virus this is totally unacceptable! Even without the virus, you don't know what the other person may have done to the food! Pizza Hut, Dominos, Papa John's, and any other food place would, and has gladly fixed any issues with no problems. I would ask for a replacement but at this point, I fear that the replacement would be spit in or messed with. Given the managers detest for my complaint and the two options I had were take it or leave it, them I was abruptly hung up on. If this is the way you would like your company to be represented you won't be in business long. So I would strongly suggest that said manager be re-trained so as to handle things more appropriately, more respectful, and not treating customers as worthless pieces of shit because of her screw up. Needless to say well never be going to Marco's ever again. I suggest if you want good customer service and a good experience, you go somewhere else. EDIT: I stand by my review. However, I was contacted by a man that was clearly very high up in the company. He said that the store I reviewed here has been completed restructured, and to use the credit I was to receive at this store after a few weeks, after the new employees and new management had a chance to be properly trained. Stopped in to order pizza when we arrived at the beach. Full disclosure, we had a complicated, big order to fill. They were crazy busy and working to get through orders. We were told that it would be an hour which was acceptable given the rush. Our food was ready 50 minutes later. The pizzas were all correct and had wonderful flavor. Crust was just right and the ingredients all seemed above average. For the price I thought the quality and size of the pizzas were great. Everyone was pleased.
