We were in town for a weekend and were really wanting to try Rosie's pizza. My husband picked it up, so I didn't see the inside and this is based off the food from a to-go order. It did take about 45-min to an hour to get the pizza , so order early if you are wanting it on a weekend day. It was a Saturday night when we ordered. They do have delivery, but it's through doordash and I don't trust their pizza delivery service. So I recommend picking up, or eating there. My only complaint is that I wish it was bigger, they only have 14 or 16in. We got a half cheese, half pepperoni 16 in. With a side of fried ravioli. The pizza was really good, NY style...crust is crunchy and chewy. Sauce was seasoned well. We ate it all. The fried ravioli was crunchy and cheesey. We went to Rosie's for years, loved the food & the family who ran it. I think the Mom said "it's time to retire, let's sell the name" and when I found out I thought "DANG it's not gonna be the same." SURPRISE. Maybe they gave the new owners the recipes, maybe they gave them the exact ingredients for the pizza dough. Whatever they did, it's exactly as I remember and it WORKS. They still give you the little garlic knots before you order (like you get bread & butter at a steakhouse or hushpuppies at a seafood restaurant) my goodness they are so good, the sauce you get on the side is great for dipping if you like homemade tomato sauce (and who doesn't?) and I have to watch myself, otherwise I'd never eat dinner. And yes, they will bring more if asked (our waiter actually asked us if we wanted more & we had to say "no thank you.") Now I can't speak for the sandwiches and the pasta dishes simply because I aways get pizza. But if they're as good as the pizza...The pizza is still incredible, I get the all veggie pie & here's the best thing - those vegetables are not just thrown on raw over the sauce and cheese & put in the oven. I've had lame pizza places do that & I've walked out of more than a few that do that. I am pretty sure, considering the flavors, the veg are grilled, the onions get a bit caramelized, the mushrooms & peppers get the moisture cooked out of them so the pizza gets crisp on the bottom and isn't wet. We went there over the holiday in July and I wish I had taken a few pictures. It's really an art. It's the way a good slice should be. The special if you're in a bit of a hurry is a slice and a drink - I think it's 6 bucks and we're talking about those giant foldable New York slices that are literally like two you'd get anywhere else. My better half always gets the calzone - it's HUGE & there is always enough for lunch the next day. It's the best no nonsense but still sit down pizza in Pawleys Island - new-ish owner/ operators who know "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" people. Very Highly Recommended. read more

This local family owned pizza place has one of the most friendly atmosphere's they even bring you handmade garlic rolls that are to die for Family and staff are amazing people who make you feel like part of their own family Calzone was huge (biggest I ever had) so much mouth watering smooth cheese . Used fork/knife for first half then can pick it up. Outer crust was delicious. The dining area is not air conditioned well, the waiter explained it was due to pizza oven. It was hard to only give them 2 stars. I know this is a beloved restaurant and I have had several good pizzas from them. However, the past 3 or 4 months the quality and quantity of the cheese on the pizzas have gone down. Couple that with very little sauce and I can't say they currently deserve more than 2 stars. Really disappointing. They're rated best in Pawleys Island? So this will be our last pizza. Toppings are ordinary - Philly Steak is reminiscent of dog food. Doughy crust. Sauce is plain. Your order of extra sauce comes in a side container, not on the pie. Service is like no one cares - we ordered extra cuts and got one - the pie was sliced in half! I ordered a large pizza for the leftovers, but no thanks. These guys have never tried a good Detroit or New York pizza. They're clueless. read more

So far, the best pizza I've had in Pawleys Island, by far. I had almost lost hope in finding a decent pie here based on my last two experiences but P.I. has been saved by Rosie's! We got a small pizza around 5 pm (we were on vacation time), half supreme and half cheese. It was damn near perfect with a crispy bottom, that held up well to the toppings, and a delicious chewy crust. The complimentary garlic rolls that came out as soon as we sat down were so good! No room for dessert so can't comment on that but the table next to us got a few things and they looked delish! We've got a few more days here and we'll certainly be back for seconds.
