Food was good, but we waited about an hour to get our meal & there were three of us. One person's order was made incorrectly and then we waited longer for that to be corrected. Sandwiches were placed on the incorrect plates and we initially started eating each others food. We were given a free bag of chips for the wait... weird. Being a party of 1 while travelling is a hard thing so I try to look for places that will be fun. When I walked in I saw there was a bar area with great seating and after hearing that area was full service I decided to go in. I sat down and after a few minutes of the wait staff walking by me I ordered the pretzel bites with the beer cheese dipping sauce, the night was off to a great start. While I waited on that I decided on a hard cider and sat and sipped away. My cheese bites arrive and I ask to order a pizza to go asking for a Kosmic Karma PLUS sausage, the description says it's on a New York thin crust. So why the 3 stars? Because this is where it goes downhill. I ate almost all the pretzel bites and nearly finish my cider when the bar person says "oh yeah, let me check on your pizza". I tell them I'm not in a hurry so it's okay if it's not ready. They come back saying it'll be up shortly. Fortunately during this waiting time a party of 5 comes in and sits next to me and we make some nice small talk about the Cubs playing which keeps me slightly occupied. About 10 minutes later someone comes out with a small boxed pizza and I think great, it's here, I can pay and move on with my evening. For about 5 minutes I sit there as it sits there. Now mind you the bar is busy but they've got 2 wait staff which seems like plenty and they walk by it. Finally I pull out my credit card and wave it to get some attention which does work. The wait person prints out my check and grabs my pizza, because I'm excited to see what I've ordered I open it up. Where's the sausage, why does this have bacon? This isn't New York style but a thick crust. I ask about the sausage and she assures me it's sausage, she thought the same thing when she ordered it the first time. If you knew it wasn't standard sausage why didn't you say something? I paid extra and it looked like nothing but a huge blob of mozzarella with minimally sprinkled bacon. After I pay and I'm getting ready to step away the gals from the party that sat next to me say "we agree about the sausage, we like the salads here but don't usually go for the pizza". Their salads that came BEFORE my pizza when they ordered after me did look great. In the end what started out as an experience to look forward to turned into a so so experience. Since I'm from out of town it doesn't matter, but this isn't a place I'd race to for pizza. read more

I used to live in Atlanta and this Mellow Mushroom is just as good, great pizza, great service and great beer selection.

Where to start??? My friends and I attend every single Monday night trivia!! We've become friends with the staff! Prices seems in a moderate range, and the food is delectable! Do not pass on the dessert! I always order the oatmeal-raisin cookie sundae. My only complaint is that it normally takes an hour or so to receive your food, especially if you ordered a pizza. 8/10 read more

What an awful experience, I don't even know where to begin... If you enjoy burnt pizza crust then this is your joint! They will not only bake you a pizza and let you watch them debate on whether or not it's acceptable to be brought to your table, they'll bring it and wait for your reaction. They will make you a second pizza and burn the crust again, and you get to experience them replay the previous scenario... All while being entertained by the kitchen staff talking about how "hung over" they are and how they "got cut off from drinking". It gets better, the night manager decides to visit us and blame it on his staff being "new" not realizing that we watched him give our pizza the "stamp of approval" since Parmesan cheese covering burnt crust is a saving grace... Great pizza. Cool atmosphere. It is so loud in this place. It has high ceilings and sounds echo throughout the gigantic open space. It's hard to hear other people at your table talking. Service is hit or miss. I've had excellent service and terrible service. Things were slow moving at first, but after visiting again months later, I can tell that things have improved. Horrible service. Our waitress only asked us if everything looked okay when she brought our pizza. Never came back. She visited the table beside us and behind us multiple times. This is probably one of my favorite restaurants. However this restaurants tend to get very crowed on the weekends and you have to wait a very long time (for me 2 hours) just to get your food (for me 1 medium pizza). Also I might add if you go with more people your food is served at all different times (very spaced out) but I have to say the food was very good and I would come back! read more

Server warned us it would so we ordered pizza bites as an appetizer but those came out 5 minutes before the pizza. Tonight our server literally told us that he had been sick for 24 hours and that it "comes in waves", then proceeded to ask us what we wanted to eat. After telling a manager about it, we received a new server, but he still continued to wait on other tables. We are still wondering why this guy would ever tell us something like that. Tried Mellow mushroom for the first time today. We came in around 11:30a.m. Seated promptly. Wish host would have sent the kids menu and crayons with us when we sat down. Its obvious they are still not sure how to judge wait times or relay them you their customers. I don't mind a 15-20min wait for a table on Sunday lunch/church crowd. But we told them we had a time issue. We waited for the 15mins to sit but it wasn't until we had finished ordering they told us it would be 45mins to an hour for our food. We had to leave.... From the other posts it doesn't seem like they understand this part of the business yet and I hope they figure it out. I have to go again for a friends birthday this coming week and I don't expect the the time management issues to be improved, but at least we can try the food. read more

I'm fast becoming a fan of Mellow Mushroom, and so is my little boy. The folks are very friendly and they still provide attentive service even if you're not drinking alcohol or ordering appetizers (y'all don't need to keep pushing the appetizers, though! asking once is enough). A custom pie with bacon, spinach and the roasted mushroom trio is my current favorite, but that'll probably change next time we go in. I do need to say that staff shouldn't be touching and tickling kids who come to the restaurant. Kids' boundaries need to be respected ust like adults. Aside from that, I love this place. read more

The pizza and beer selection is fantastic. The restaurant is in the old Coca-Cola bottling plant. It is a little hard to see from the road. There are at least two other restaurants in the building - a craft beer place and a coffee cafe. The service was good and even though he was super busy - he was very nice. The only glitch was from the bartender that gave away our beers to other folks - so the wait time on those was a while. Overall, we like Mellow Mushroom and are so glad they are in Paducah! read more

I POSTED THIS ON GOOGLE AS WELL. This place is unacceptable and out of order. I don't know who is managing this place but whoever is doesn't know what they're doing. My order took atleast over 50 minutes. The kitchen people were yelling song lyrics and the music was incredibly loud..even to the point to where as my 11 year old was hearing the word "Bitch" and "Fuck" being played out from the music that was blasting. Absolutely unacceptable. WHERE IS THE MANAGER? I would not recommend this place if this was the last place on earth. I will be letting my employees know to avoid this area as well. read more

Variety of beers served including Dry Ground whose brewery is attached to their building. I'm a fan of nut browns, stouts and porters and would highly recommend the Dry Ground's 'The dog drank my homework'. Flavorful brown ale. Paired well with the House Special pizza. Fresh hummus. I visit my parents every few months from out of state. My parents were excited to take me to The Mellow Mushroom. I have been to the chain previously but this was my first time in such an artistic and interesting setting. It is set in an interesting historical building that used to be a Coke factory. They really made the interior interesting. Molly was our waitress and did a great job taking care of us. The food was on par with normal Mellow Mushrooms, but the beer selection was excellent. They had 40 plus on draft, and they had a wide selection. I had a flight of the local brewery attached to the building. The dry ground beers were good. Kolsch was average, ESB was normal, pale was above normal, IPA above normal, and the porter was excellent. "The Dog Drank my Homework" was awesome. The aroma was normal but the flavor profile was great. Good taste one of the best I have had in quite a long time and I drink a good bit of beer. As far as breweries in Kentucky that I have been to so far this has been to date the best beer. I really enjoyed my experience at the Mellow Mushroom and I would easily drive the hour to get there just to have the beer. I hope in the future they introduce growlers and crowlers to their arsenal so we can take some of the drafts with us. read more
