The manager came around during the meal to check on us and to ensure that everything was up to par. This was a great touch to the dining experience. We love the food. We are regulars. But this is the last straw with poor carry out service. We must have at least 100 carry out orders over the years. They get it wrong at least half the time. This time when my daughter arrived they had no record of the order. I asked to speak to someone. Then my daughter said he was mad because I was "yelling" at him. My husband and I stopped by this Mellow Mushroom in Stockbridge after a Memorial Service. We brought the food back home to Helen, Ga (over 100 miles) to enjoy after we got home. My husband got the beef calzone. He was looking forward to it, but when he bit into it and realized it had NO beef in it AND he was charged extra for the beef. So disappointed in this Mellow Mushroom. We don't go to Stockbridge more than once or twice a year, but they should send our money back to us. After posting the above, I called and talked to the manager Anthony who was very nice and very apologetic about the situation. However there wasn't anything he could do because my husband paid with cash, which he never does. Go figure. Update on this restaurant. Yesterday the owner Ruby called me and was absolutely wonderful. She has refunded the money for my husbands calzone AND is sending us gift certificates. Anyone who goes this far in making sure a customer is happy deserves a second chance. So I told her I would change my review from one star to five. This location makes all the others look bad. The food is not as good as the other locations and the management here is horrible. Yesterday 7/4 they were open until 8:00 I called for a pizza and a sub at 6:42. I was told it would be 45 mins to an hour. I arrived at 7:45. I got my cold mess of a pizza at 8:20. Then I had to wait another 5 minutes to get my now cold sub that had been sitting there the entire time that I waited. When I told the manager, she just proceeded to open it to let me look at it. I checked to see if the roll was hard and it wasn't so I took the food. It was cold also. There were a lot of people waiting for a long time to get take out. If you close at 8, stop taking orders earlier! It's common sense. I'm sure those employees have lives. I can't understand why they would take so many orders so late if they were closing at 8:00. They even seated a couple after 8 as a waiter had told them that they were closed. The manager had him go outside to have them come back in. It was just a madhouse. The girl at the register repeatedly said that they were all losing their minds. I was afraid to eat the sub due to the fact that it was sitting for so long. I have worked at many restaurants and never have I seen such a mess. Update. After the manager wrote back, I sent him my info and never heard anything back. I did end up on their email list. I have been back and dined in. (not my choice) But nothing has changed. It still took 2 hours to get lunch. The spinach salad was great the pizza was just average. read more

I haven't been back to this location since all the issues I had previously. After seeing another pizza labeled as vegan with non vegan ingredients on it for a group event, I just don't trust it. I would suggest if you are vegan and decide to eat at this particular location, triple check your food when it arrives. Also, read their online allergy menu so you know what menu items you can't have, don't trust the employees to know or inform you that something isn't vegan. We came here the other day, and it was pretty sub-par, at best. We ordered salad, mushroom soup and a pizza with half pepperoni and pineapple, half pepperoni, mushroom and bell peppers. The salad was mediocre and the soup was overly flavored and overwhelming. When the pizza came out, they had forgotten to put the pepperoni on it. They took it from our table, and then brought it back out with pepperoni and cheese thrown on top of it after what looked like a few minutes under a heat lamp. They replaced the pizza with another one, and gave us the first one for free. The first few bites were okay, but after that it was pretty cheap tasting, and similar to the soup, pretty over flavored. It's sad to see one of my all time favorite hole-in-the-wall type pizza joints go all mainstream, and lose their cool. We showed up at 6:20 on a Wed. evening. It was a long day, and we were super hungry. We had 3 adults and 3 kids in our party. Not really a huge group, but you would've thought from the hostess' expression that we were a party of 20. There were 2 large tables in the bar area and she asked if we minded sitting over there. Two ladies next to us, piped up to say they were there 1st, so she sat the two of them at one of the tables. I'm sure she would've noticed them, had she not been away from the hostess station, bussing tables. Then, for the next 30 mins, she proceeded to seat every party of 2 and 3, ahead of us, instead of getting crafty with some table arrangements. By this point, I was shaky and grumpy. Shoulda packed a granola bar for the wait, I guess. Finally, we get a big table and pretty quick service from our server. We all ordered normal drinks (tea, water, etc.) and one beer. I ordered a spinach and artichoke dip. About 10 mins later (7:03), all of our drinks and the dip come, but not the beer. She says she's still waiting on it, and then asks if we need 'more time to look at the menu'. We say no, and start to order, but she turns around to talk to the table behind her! It was clear from the start, that they were pretty understaffed. We finally order a LRG Greek salad, a LRG pizza and a MED pizza. We chose minimal toppings, because the price per topping was outrageous. $4.07 for bacon on a LRG pizza. It's around $2.00 just to get a non-meat item on a LRG. Insane. Our salad came out quickly, and it was quite good. Our server, who was less than attentive up til this point, noticed me taking notes on my phone and returned promptly 2 mins later, to see if we had enough dressings. At 7:38, we asked about our pizza. It had been 30 mins since we ordered. Our server goes into this long explanation about them having to 'hand stretch their pizza and then it takes 15 mins to cook it'. I'm half Italian and I make homemade pizza quite often. I know it doesn't take that long to stretch dough, unless it's ice cold, and it doesn't take 15 mins to cook a pizza, unless they cook theirs on 350F! She should have just said 'yeh, it has been a while. let me check', because it turns out, it was ready. It was obvious the MED had been sitting there a while, because the pan was only warm to the touch and the pizza wasn't hot, at all. Of course this was fine with us, as we were able to eat it straight away. So, about the time I'm staring at my $60 tab (70 w/tip), and kinda sick about having to pay that much for a crappy experience, the manager (Lynn) visits our table. It seemed as if she were just making the rounds. She inquired about our experience and I hit the main issues for her. She seemed bothered by the 30 min wait for the pizzas, so I guess it wasn't as acceptable as our server made it seem. She apologized and adjusted the total on our tab by cutting it in half. She promised that she would take appropriate action involving the cook times. She seemed to have a genuine interest in making things right with us. I really appreciated her efforts, but unless she finds a way to clone herself, I doubt I'll be going back to this particular MM anytime soon. I'm with one of the other reviewers on the 15th Street Pizza idea. It's one exit down, the price is more on point and the service is more reminiscent of what MM's used to be. Meanwhile, this place needs so much: *heat your patio to cut down the wait *hire more staff (4 servers to 40+ tables?) *8 cooks tripping over each other in the kitchen? No wonder they're slow... *hire someone to bus tables (servers do this, as if they have time!) We were there around 2 hrs. If you can't get your patrons in and out a bit more quickly, there's no way you can make money and keep peeps coming back. read more

Tonight had to be one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. I went in with a party of 7 around 6:30pm and was seated within 10 minutes. The restaurant was dying off from being busy. We waited 10 minutes until a waiter came around to get our drink order. Another 10 or so minutes for our drinks. Ordered an appetizer that didn't even come out until everyone received and finished their food. When we got our pizza (1/2 Maui Wowie & 1/2 Red Potato Pie -onions), the potato pie didn't have bacon, it had onions, had one slice of a burnt potato on it, and it was drenched in the sour cream sauce with an assload of chives. I alerted our waiter about the onions being on the pie and the ingredients it was missing just to get a "well the kitchen ran out of bacon". Wouldn't you think to notify your table that the kitchen is out of an ingredient when they order a food item that comes with it? I basically had a cheese onion sour cream pizza.
