    Veg Out pizza
    Ian K.

This place is located on NW area of Mill and University, slightly East of ASU and the football stadium. Inside has some cool decor. They have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options which helps for those with that preference. The veg out pizza was ok, pretty much what you would expect. The wings were pretty good (see photo). Not overwhelming but decent. The prices are pretty high, the online menu does not show the prices but several people have posted the menus. You would think so close to ASU the prices would be more reasonable for starving college students but no so. On their website: mellowmushroom.com they do post their nutritional information. I think for the price, other options are better.

The vibe at Mellow Mushroom Tempe is on point. Alyssa is the queen of all of the things to do with beer, cider and spirits! She's the absolute best! The bar is so much fun with a wonderful beer and cider selection.

VEGAN GREAT WHITE PIZZA: To-Go in Box

Wonderful experience whenever I stop in. Clearly labeled gluten free/vegan/vegetarian so let your server know and they'll totally understand the lingo. I had the Great White Pizza custom made vegan and gluten free! Just had to ask (as it's labeled only vegetarian on the menu) and they said vegan would be no problem. Crust is thinner than a normal pizza which is typical for gluten free and I actually prefer it thin! The tomatoes were soooo good and the basil/vegan cheese was fresh. A bit too oily for my liking, but was fun to get creative and I'd still recommend this place for solo or group night out for sure! Bartender gave me water/lemon while I waited and was super kind/attentive. Ambiance is uplifting. Oh, and they have house made mocktails too! :) Mar 05 2023

    Holy Shiitake - good stuff!

Lunch for 5 here last week. My daughter and her husband have been long-time Mellow Mushroom fans in Portland, and brought their 5-year-old son. He was happy with the kids meal - the fries were thumbs-up. We split a large Holy Shiitake among the four of us. Just perfect for lunch. Flavor was good, but not as garlicky as the incarnations they had before. Overall a good experience - it was nice that ASU classes were out for the holidays so the place was empty. I'd definitely stop back the next time I'm in the neighborhood.

Back in AZ visiting family. We frequented the Mellow Mushroom in Ahwatukee and was craving some great pizza! Our Airbnb was not far from the Tempe location. Ordered door dash- ordered four pizzas and 20 wings. Pizza was amazing as always! Service was quick for door dash. Hard to beat Mellow Mushroom's flavors and homemade crust. My favorite pizza is the shroom, add sausage- to die for! Wings were perfectly crisp- blue cheese is homemade. Mellow Mushroom is my go to pizza place in AZ.

Nothing stands out really here. Food is good but not memorable for pizza. I thought there was way too much crust on the pizza. The wings were rather small. The only thing that stood out was the cost. We had a $50 Groupon but it was still $27 after the Groupon. So $77 for three drinks, nine wings and a large pizza. Just seemed high to me.

Booth I got sat at was pretty greasy and dirty.

I've came here twice recently just to eat before my movie started and it was just ok each time. The first time I sat at the bar and got a mock tail and pizza. The bar felt greasy and like humid in that area so it didn't feel good. The mock tail was average, a little too much whatever syrup goes in there and the pepperoni pizza was good. The second time I came in I asked to sit at a booth since I thought it would be cleaner there. It was not, the booth had so many grease spots and crumbs that were obvious to see. The menu was pretty greasy too. I got the happy prankster pizza this time, it was just okay, not bad not great.

Free Pretzel Bites w/ spicy cheese sauce

We hadn't been to Mellow Mushroom in probably 10 years. Crazy! We found a Groupon deal $31 for 15 so we made the trip to Mellow Mushroom Did not disappoint, we didn't go Vegan for our pizza or our free pretzel bites because we don't like veggie cheeses and would rather no have them. So we ordered the Great White and it was wonderful! Olive oil and garlic on the crust followed by many wonderful cheeses, roasted tomatoes and fresh tomatoes and onions. Super yummy! A large specialty pizza is $29 dollars, so a little pricey but Great service, Great Atmosphere and Great Food. Definitely worth the splurge The Pretzel bites came with beer cheese or spicy cheese. We had the spicy super yummy too!! Taste even better when they are free, signed up for their new letter and received the free bites! Then when we checked in we received another round of free bites for next time, Cool!!! We will be back, Thx! Mellow Mushroom for a fun time!!!

    Burger very good

Got here on a Saturday afternoon around 2:50 pm. Maybe 2 other couples were here. It took 40 minutes to get our food. I had an avocado hoagie which came out cold and had no mozzarella cheese. The server took it back and they told him they didn't have any so he took 50% off my meal. The pizza, burger and Avocado Hoagie was very good. It's nice inside, lots of open space. The patio dining area needed to be cleaned. Overall, I recommend visiting.

This was a pretty cool place pizza was good but a little pricey, it's in the heart of Mill Ave. Been here couple times and everytime it's been snow inside almost discouraging to eat at because it's not a very busy place at least everytime I've come. I'm not mad though because service was good.

The only reason for the 4 stars is all of our empty cups & plates remained on our table until after we left. We even ordered another order of garlic bread to take home after we were done eating, & the dishes remained on the table. I didn't take any pictures since we got the same food I've posted pictures of before.

You can also get a whole pie of your choice. They grate fresh parm on all the slices which I thought was a nice touch. The girl at the register seemed very knowledgeable about all the pizzas and gave us lots of details and recommendations which we appreciated. First we got the green, di Parma, and the Phoenix. The green has pistachios and fresh arugula on it, I thought the overall flavor was too sweet and the pistachios weren't crush enough. The Phoenix was good, very honey forward and overall the flavor didn't stick out to me. The di Parma was a cheese pizza with procuttio and ricotta, overall a little plain to me. I think they all would've tasted better hot, but I understand that's not super realistic for a slice shop. For our second order we got the vodka sauce slice, which was for sure my favorite. First of all it was piping hot, and that elevated the whole experience. I thought the sauce was so flavorful and savory, and the basil made a perfect bite. I would go back for a whole pie of this! I really liked the prices here, we got dinner for less than $25 for 2. I wouldn't mind coming back to try some other slices and get a pie of the vodka!

I got there 10 minutes before closing, pulled up as they were putting our pizza in the box, opened the box & of course had zero complaints! The Uncle Louie was a new choice for us, the pie was nice & thin the way that we like it... not all that heavy dough that makes you feel bloated after you eat one slice! The quality of products that Crust uses really makes a difference, this pizza is 20" & they put the big deli sliced pepperoni on the pizza plus they put sliced sausage not ground! Paired with their dipping sauce, they were impossible to resist! The Buffalo Wings were equally impressive. Extra crispy, just as I had asked, with that classic tangy, spicy kick that makes buffalo wings so addictive. They nailed the texture and flavor, making them one of the best wing options around. The accolades and awards were endless, the critics raved, and even documentaries were produced. So we all started putting this place on our bucket list. The most beautiful red sauce complements the perfectly stretchy fresh mozzarella.
