I can see why people enjoy but the burger was just good not great! The service was great. The gentleman took our order and gave his recommendation. The ambiance was cool... nice size place! The burgers were so good! They have a little pink in the middle if you have kids that are picky.. but the food was absolute perfection. We stopped here before stars on ice last week. It was are first time and it was a little busy. All the mobile counters to order were full but the guy working up front was very friendly and let us know he was available to take our order. Wow, it did not disappoint--this place is legit delicious! I went with the Swiss & Shroom MeltBurger (mushroom burger) and customized it by swapping the Swiss for pepper jack cheese, adding ranch, and drizzling on that spicy buffalo sauce. Holy cow, it was a home run! The burger literally melted in my mouth, super juicy and packed with flavor--one of the juiciest burgers I've ever had. The angus-wagyu blend shines through, and the toppings took it to another level. The ordering process was super simple and modern--I loved the big touchscreen kiosks that made customizing easy and quick. No hassle at all. They have some unique soda flavors I've never tried before, which was a fun surprise and paired perfectly with the meal. Bonus points: the bathrooms were spotless and well-maintained, which always matters to me. This jumps straight to my #2 burger spot overall (Shake Shack is still king in my book, but The Melt is giving it a serious run for its money with that melty, juicy goodness). Great burgers, I got the mushroom swiss burger and it was really good, a little greasy but overall lots of flavor very juicy. My boyfriend got the chicken sandwich which was pretty good, it wasn't anything crazy though. We also got this snickerdoodle shake which was really really good actually. Inside is nice, we came few days after opening and it was pretty quiet (we also went on a sunday at like 4pm). You order off a tablet and they bring out your food for you. I'm pretty sure this is the best thing I've tasted in YEARS. First, the sandwich: I ordered The Italian and added steak. The menu says the bread is "spicy garlic" and whoo boy, they are not kidding. The bread was absolutely *PACKED* with flavor. The steak was tender and thinly shaved, and the mushrooms were out. of. this. world. And the cheese blend? Chefs kiss. I checked out The Melt this past weekend in the Tempe ASU campus area. I originally saw an ad for them on Instagram during their opening a few weeks back, forgot about it, and then happened to drive by while hungry -- so it felt meant to be. Ordering is easy -- you can go to the counter or use one of their kiosks (we did the kiosk so we could browse without feeling rushed). I went for the MeltBurger (Angus & Wagyu beef, chopped, grilled, and packed with melted cheddar, jalapeños, pickles, and Melt sauce on a toasted artisan bun) plus sweet potato fries (hot, crispy Louisiana sweet potatoes with shaved parmesan). My god-sister ordered the Original Chicken Melt (all-natural grilled chicken breast, cheddar, tomato, lettuce, and Melt sauce on a toasted artisan bun). I also grabbed a strawberry lemonade that looked house-made with real strawberry bits -- super refreshing on a hot day. The burger sounded amazing on paper, but once I started eating it... I wasn't fully sold. Not bad, just maybe not the right burger choice for me, and I didn't make it through more than half. My god-sister said her chicken sandwich was good, so that's a plus. The sweet potato fries though? Chef's kiss. Perfectly seasoned, crispy, and delicious. I'll never hate a good sweet potato fry! I've been to the Melt in Scottsdale and it was pretty good so I tried the one in Tempe. This is one of those places you order on a screen, then you take a pager and go grab your food from the counter when your pager goes off, and then clear your own table by taking everything tot the garbage when you're done. I never had to talk to a single person, but the machine still asks for a tip on the meal. This time I went with a spicy mission grilled chicken sandwich, but I should have stuck with the burgers. I was starving after work, and really wanted to try this place, as it's a few stores down from a great ice cream place. I think the ordering concept here is freaking amazing!! Used the kiosk, there's a tv showing how many orders are before yours and showing whose orders are ready. Minimal face time with people, especially if you've just about had it for the day lol. The strawberry lemonade I got was quite good, and the fries were alright. I guess I forgot to take a picture of my burger, but I got the one with bacon and bbq in it, and it was freaking awesome!! The bbq was really good. I actually wish they had that for sell. It wasn't too acidic, and was a perfect addition to the burger. Very clean and respectable place. 10 Stars!!! We're currently exploring spots with our son, who will be attending ASU, and this place absolutely hit the mark! The burgers were incredible, and I especially loved the Mushroom Swiss on toast. So, so good! Everything was fresh and flavorful, but what truly stood out was the customer service. I wish I had gotten the name of the amazing employee who helped us, he was a tall, slim male working the counter, and he was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuine. He brought our food to the table, and when we were finishing up, he came over with a tray of cookies and kindly offered my son a piece, that moment felt really special to me. What impressed me even more was how effortlessly he watched over the whole dining area, anticipating what people needed before they even asked. We had half a sandwich left, and just as I turned to ask for a to-go container, he was already there with one in hand and a warm smile. Quick Review: Delicious and great service. I'd definitely come back again for their burgers! I always love trying new food spots. This one is located in the ASU area and stays open until 2AM! I tried the bbq bacon sandwich and the spicy chicken sandwich. I did like both of them but I'd have to say the burger was better in my opinion. The chicken sandwich was delicious and I loved the spicy sauce that came on it. I couldn't even finish the burger because I was full! So overall great food, delicious sodas and a very nice spacious establishment that is in a great area! The manager was a very nice guy who walked around and made sure everyone was happy and even let us try a sample of the cookies which were delicious! The Melt is one of my favorite burger places. It is hard for me to choose one burger place that is the king of burgers in Arizona, but in my opinion, The Melt is definitely a contender. I have visited The Melt a few times since they opened their Tempe location. Each experience has left me wanting to return. The burgers are some of the best I have ever had. Everything tastes fresh, and the burgers are nice and juicy. They also have great fries. As great as the food is, the best part is their milkshakes and malts. I have had both their vanilla and snickerdoodle malts, and both are delicious. The snickerdoodle malt brings back memories of delightful snickerdoodle cookies. The workers there are very nice. They greet you the moment you walk in, and they are more than happy to offer recommendations for some of their food items. Another thing I like is when they offer pieces of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. That is a tremendous bonus. The atmosphere is nice and modern with a feel-good vibe. I also like the cleanliness of the place. The last time I was there, one of the soap containers in the restrooms was empty, and I brought it to the attention of a staff member. I'm writing this review super annoyed and hungry. So hungry, that I don't have the bandwidth to write a long and drawn out account of my first experience here. Because I tipped in advance for a To Go order, based on the amazing reviews, for food that ended up in a gas station trash can, I'm going to at least leave a one star rating. In short, nothing about this meal was appetizing. Just look at the pics. I scarfed down a few fries because I feared they'd be inedible after cooling down (I drove 30 minutes from home to get here). I wanted to take a bite out of my chicken sandwich while in the parking lot but, as soon as I opened the container, the brick of a sandwich fell back into the bag. That thing was heavy like a brick, dry like a brick, and as unappetizing as a brick. I was immediately turned off. So, you can imagine how I felt when I pieced the sandwich back together and noticed an inch and a half long fiber attached to the bun. Disgusted. Pretty disappointing first time experience. I wasted an hour driving from and back home, and $18.20 for food I couldn't bring myself to eat. To add insult to injury, my order was late. With only one family of three in the restaurant, they weren't busy. Not like the restaurant across the street. So...I wasted my time waiting for the disappointment that was to be my first meal of the day (at 7p). Ugh! read more

We tried this place for the first time, I think it's pretty new part of the new Novus place. The ordering is very quick and easy, self service kiosk style. They do not serve any alcoholic beverages but we ordered the Crispy Chicken Sandwich and the Mac n Cheese and fries. The sandwich was really good, our favorite item!!!
