The studio is really cute and it's small classes of 6. The first class is about two hours and she goes step by step on how to get your clay on your wheel and how to make a bowl. I believe there are different classes to make other objects and for the more advanced. It's definitely harder than I expected but Lauren would help get your piece back to being something after you mess up a time or two. You make four pieces. Second class you have two hours to paint your pieces. And then a couple weeks later you pick up your fired bowls, plates, or whatever came out. Easy to get to, side street parking. We had such a blast and we can't wait to do it again & bring our friends.

La Cueva Blu was one of my favorite studios that I visited. The two space is shared by two fantastic artist, I think they were husband and wife collaborating their work in one large space. The painting were high end gallery material, and the sculpture that was being worked on by the artist would look just awesome in any home including mine. The energy level inside this studio and the amount if creativity here, is a must to check out by all visitors. I saw they also hold classes, one more reason to come back to this fantastic artist studios.

She…read moreshowed me all the different kinds of things she makes in her studio - it's filled with lovely plates and bowls and pieces for jewelry. She then explained the different kinds of glass, showed me how to cut glass, and answered all of my MANY questions. With her help, I assembled what will become a glass bowl - a sheet of clear glass with colored glass placed on top of it in a pattern - she has LOTS of different kinds and colors of glass. Then I placed another sheet of clear glass on top. Erica carefully placed it in the kiln where it stayed for 30 hours! She sent me photos of it when it came out - it's a flat solid sheet, and it's gorgeous! Now she'll place it in a mold and put it in the kiln again to heat just enough for it to slump into a bowl shape. I can't wait!

So each week I went shopping for any ingredients I'd need, leaving myself a good amount of time to prep everything I had to before class. Shilpi sends out an email each week suggesting what to prep ahead so planning is easy. All the meals came out great - even the ones I made mistakes on or tweaked a bit were awesome. Shilpi is super helpful about working with any dietary preferences or figuring out what to do if you forgot to buy an ingredient. I was okay with receiving even a partial refund, but even this was refused. Considering the industry FirstDance works in, I would have expected better customer service and a willingness to work something out. Now I regret ever signing up for the classes at this business. Tip for future customers: If you sign up for their new student introductory class ($45), they will try to get you to sign up for a bulk package of classes at the very end. They say it is cheaper to purchase the classes right then and there because they offer "special pricing" since you're a "new student". Their whole business model is to have you buy 20-40 classes all at once for $90-$100 per session instead of paying more for individual classes. I fell victim to this sales tactic and decided to sign up for 30 classes at the end of the intro class. I wish FirstDance could be more understanding of their clients and offer a better refund policy. I have 30 classes that I will likely never use.
