One of the only places in the valley that do pediatric evaluations for ADHD and autism. I really appreciated them working with us with diagnostics with our child. They offer a range of therapeutic services as well. They also worked with our insurance.

First I will say that the actual PROVIDERS are amazing. I have been SO HAPPY with Dr. Shepard and Dr. Chao. I would give the doctors 5 stars. HOWEVER, I would give the experience I had today ZERO stars, because it was unbelievable. I called them this morning to hear the measures that we needed to be aware of for COVID, as they had left a voicemail telling me to call to get the instruction over the phone. On the call, they told us we need to arrive early, wear masks and wash our hands when we came in. That's fine, we obliged. We get there and the man who opened the door told us only one parent was allowed in, and while he went to go get the thermometer I gathered my courage to speak up and tell him no one told us that we could only have one parent and my husband had taken off work to be here for this appointment. He told me that I had been told in a voicemail that had been left for me. (Note: This was him telling me that I was lying.) I PULLED UP THE VOICEMAIL which is transcribed by Google, and it made no mention of the rule - I will attach the transcriptions as photos. (I blurred out the number they said because it transcribed off by one number, and I don't want to give someone's number out here.) I even played the voicemail for him that made NO MENTION of the rule, and told him to show me the CDC guideline they were basing the policy on. He told me I was wrong, and that this is their office policy and that they can make whatever rules they want. At this point, I told him to go back to the back office, because him telling me I'm wrong and a liar wasn't helping the situation, where I heard him through the wall making fun of me to other staff. He came out again and was on such an unreasonable power trip, and continued to gaslight me and told me I didn't speak to anyone at the office this morning. (Screenshot provided below of when I called them this morning. The blurred out call was to my mom, coordinating getting face masks so we could abide by their policies.) He told me the director said, "Office policy" and would not make an exception, even though we all live in the same house. I told him to bring the director out to speak to me. He told me the director wouldn't be available for 15 minutes and I would be in my appointment at that time, so tough luck. Well, turns out our appointment was primarily filling out paperwork in the front lobby and the director hid in her office and refused to come out and speak with us. The director then proceeded to call our phones DURING THE APPOINTMENT that the front office staff told us we couldn't talk to her because we would be in that appointment, and told us she isn't seeing patients. (Convenient how they came up with this explanation after I asked several times to speak to her.) He then refused to let my husband back to the appointment even though the doctor said she was okay with it!!!! He sat at the door STARING MY HUSBAND DOWN to make sure we didn't obey this 22 year old with a power trip's rules!!! Let's be crystal clear. My anger isn't about the policy. My anger isn't even about the fact that they didn't tell us the policy before my husband used PTO to attend the meeting. My anger is about this man gaslighting me about the messages I received and the director refusing to even speak to us, and then SUPPOSEDLY calling DURING the appointment that she knew we were in! (Which neither of our phones show evidence that she actually ever called! Screenshot of ALL my calls in my phone today attached below.) We have paid them over $1500 out of pocket in 2 days of appointments, and their director can't even be bothered to speak to us. My husband doesn't want me to leave this review because he's afraid they will hurt the help our son receives if I am not a sweet, complacent patient. I will be finding another provider if that is the case, but I trust after this review they will work on cleaning up their front office act and NOT send the same employee on a power trip to interact with a patient he has gaslighted.

Horrific customer service. Condescending, lacking compassion - probably should consider who your first point of contact is.

We scheduled his 19 yr wellness check while in. Dr. Cannon is the Doc and as I mentioned to the lady who checked us in, so long as Dr. Cannon is in practice and allows the Kid tol visit, he will. I understand I have seen posts about the office and sure, I have also had some hiccoughs over the last 19/20 years but the most important part for me is having a medical professional one can trust and we trust him. Dr. Cannon has always been phenomenal as a provider and that means, I am willing to have appointments scheduled further out if need be because he's always been there and he is who my son trusts.

The front office girl told me various things, like they don't pay their employees, the doctors quit because they won't pay them fair wages, etc. Their check in form is also insane. Asking if my 2 year old has been to jail, prison, etc. If she's a refugee, what country she's from. Asking if she's going to lose her housing?! And yes, I called and clarified if it was asking about the guardian. Nope, the pediatric patient! I did 3 of my children's check ins and only one of them promoted these types of questions. Switching offices immediately. Last review I left, the office manager called me asking if I could take it down, what they could do etc. Went in for a sick visit the next time and she came into our room multiple times asking if there was anything she could do anything to get me to remove my review (which was not even bad). Wouldn't take my children here again.

My…read moreDaughter was suffering from excessive spit, frustrating nursing sessions, difficulty with bottles, difficulty with pacifiers, in the 20th percentile for weight, throwing up at every meal, on medication for acid reflux since she was 2 months old and many many other issues. I had mastitis unfortunately and did not know all of this was related to tongue tie. With the help from a slew of professionals (Jacquline Kincer at Holistic Lactation) & ( Dr. Trobetta at Gentle Touch Chiropractic) we set up an amazing team for my daughter to have on her side. My daughter is 5 months old and was not rolling over due to her stiffness stemming from her mouth. She was on medication for "acid reflux" as prescribed by her pediatric doctor. After having body work at Gentle Touch Chiropractic and then having Dr. Bower Release my daughters ties she began to roll over and her "Acid Reflux" disappeared. We have no spit up, no throwing up of meals, no more medication and a happy baby. She is able to stick her tongue out of her mouth. I believed something was not right with my daughter and her pediatric Dr. told me any ties released would "naturally" release when she hits her face as a toddler. This outdated and terrible response to a concerned mother bothered me and Dr. Bower assured me that to prevent further issues releasing her ties would help her developmentally and wow was she right. My daughter finally fits into her clothes in her age group she isnt months behind anymore. Dr. Bower was professional and very calm when she took my daughter. She was swaddled and had homeopathic remedies that helped before and after the tie. She also showed me the stretches before the tie release and let me record her doing it so I would not forget. Everything about her was calming and inviting. She reached out to me numerous times after the procedure to make sure my daughter was progressing properly and asked for updates. I never felt alone or as if it was done and I would never see the Dr. again or have any random questions answered. I was always listened to and felt complete trust in her practice. I would recommend her over and over again to any mother struggling with their child. Even if your child is older its not too late to help them. I am so thankful she is apart of my daughters army! A decision I will never regret making.

So we brought both kids in for what should be $0 out of pocket costs for checkups, and instead we've been billed NEARLY $800 by Phoenix Children's for services that should have costs us $0. I would not trust them ever again. We have found new pediatricians. But Phoenix Children's has refused to take any responsibility for this egregious lack of communication on their part. Over the years I have had providers always give us notification if there is a change in carrier coverage, and Phoenix Children's has failed to do so -- and their billing department does not care, so we are going to have to escalate our dispute with them. On another note, this is not the first billing discrepancy we've had with Phoenix Children's, so I guess it really shouldn't surprise me that this is how they operate. I would warn anyone looking to send their kids here to be prepared to deal with billing mistakes and aggravation. Never again for us.
