The first year I took my son they were amazing cant complain. This year I had an emergency with my house flooding I called and explained the situation and the girl on the phone was like only if the patient is sick is an emergency I was well I cant make it. She said that they will have a 75 or 50 dollar charge for not canceling withing 48hrs I was like I didn't know I was going to have emergency. So I told her to cancel my son appointment and I wouldn't go back she said just to let u know if u do ever come back the fee will still be there.. sooo unprofessional and inhuman. I just had a root canal procedure. I was worried about the recovery time, but here I am the next morning writing this review because I have very little to no pain. Dr. Jimmy would ask through the procedure how I was doing and kept making sure I was comfortable. The staff is great also, very caring. I ever see any doctor like Jimmy Nguyen , careless and just want to take money from the patients... I came for the first time visit and only need to clean my teeth with basic on my insurance payment... after 3 hours discussion with Jimmy Nguyen finally agreed to clean only (not deep clean ) ... the procedure was done in less than 1 minute ... I asked what was you did for my teeth so ? He said polish only .! I thought even for polish only he just only tell me to open my mouth and just only touch my teeth in few seconds and he done... Horrible for the first time here in his office in Chino hill ... My husband and I had a very different experience from most of the other reviewers here. Our visit was over 2 years ago, but I've finally decided that it is important to share what we encountered at this office. Based on our experience, I do not recommend trusting this dentist. We arrived to a nearly empty office and yet still had to wait after filling out our new patient forms. Next came the x-rays. The young woman who took my x-rays had to redo nearly every single one. I was patient with her, figuring that she might be new, but at the same time was a little concerned about the level of exposure I was getting with all those double x-rays. After more waiting, the dentist entered, inspected my teeth, and proceeded to inform me that I had something like 10 cavities! Had I been someone with many cavities in the past, I may have gone along with all those fillings. Fortunately, I know myself. I have only had 2 very small cavities filled way back when I was a teenager. My dental hygiene is very good, and since I've traveled a lot, I have been to many different dentists, all of whom have found no new cavities. I knew that unless something had gone terribly wrong with my mouth in the last year since my previous dentist appointment, I could not possibly have 10 cavities. The dentist proceeded to clean my teeth very aggressively. My teeth were sensitive for weeks afterwards. On top of the cavities he told me he wanted to fill, he also argued with me about an extra deep groove in one of my molars. He insisted that a filling had fallen out and showed the area to me with a mirror. I told him that I have never had a filling there, but he refused to believe me. Given that I have only had 2 small fillings in my entire life, I most certainly know exactly where those fillings were placed. He completely disrespected me by refusing to believe that I know my own mouth. My husband had a similar experience. He was also told that many of his stains were cavities. We both walked out of the office with cost estimates for approximately 10 fillings each. We felt dirty and violated. If we had trusted this dentist, we would have had many parts of our perfectly healthy teeth removed and replaced with plastic! A couple of months later my husband saw another dentist to get a new mouth guard. That dentist said that he saw no sign of cavities in my husband's mouth. I attempted to transfer the x-rays from Dr. Nguyen's office to the new dentist for his review. Dr. Nguyen's office staff tried to avoid my phone calls, and when they finally did respond, all they could produce was photocopies of x-rays that were extremely poor quality. It took us a while to get the courage to find a new dentist again after feeling so violated by this one. We have both recently been to a new dentist, and, sure enough, NO NEW CAVITIES!! I was just told, yet again, that I have great teeth! Let's see...eight different dentists in my lifetime, seven said no cavities, and this one said 10. Bottom line: this dentist CAN'T BE TRUSTED. read more

After having several bad experience's at other dentists, I found Dr. Nguyen near my house. I went in to have a few teeth checked and a new crown replaced that my last dentist had botched. I needed a root canal and crown on a canine, and had a crack in a front tooth. I decided to get all four done. I was concerned about the shape of the tooth, so he sent me down to his lab to have the technician work on the shape. Dr. Jimmy has been awesome in making sure I am totally happy with my crown before he does the others. He is very gentle and patient and will get you is usually on short notice. His staff is courteous and polite, and his office is clean and modern. I hope to have Dr. Nguyen as my dentist for a long time. read more

I have been coming to this dentist since I was a little girl because they do except my medical insurance. I recently returned to this dentist and I am so glad I did because they handle you with care. I have never really been fond of the dentist but I know that they will take great care of me here. I recently went in to get 3 fills and the Doctor told me to raise my left hand if I needed him to stop, he then proceeded to ask me how I was doing and that made me feel really great. When I started working and received benefits, I was looking for a dentist around my area since I haven't been into one for a very long time. I found Melody Dental Care/Jimmy Nguyen in my radar and on my first day there, I checked in as a new patient for an appointment the same day. I heard this place was previously owned by another dentist and Jimmy bought the place for his business. There were no reviews about him but I still decided to try him out. Dr. Nguyen is my favorite dentist to visit when I need to check my teeth in Riverside. He's an professional what he brings for his customers and provides tips how to take better care of your teeth in the future. I even loved that I am able to watch movies on the TV screen front of me while I get my teeth cleaned. They gave me choices for movies that recently came out on DVD. I even won their first raffle for a free gift card from CPK last year and took a picture of me holding the card. His staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to talk with. As of now, I am glad that his place is open on Saturday's because I often work in the weekdays and I usually have to set an appointment in advance. Thank you Dr. Nguyen for the outstanding work! Melody Dental and Dr. Nguyen are amazing. Dr. Nguyen is the best dentist I've ever encountered and I have direct exposure to many dentists in Orange County and Riverside Counties. I drive all the way from Costa Mesa to be treated by this practice. It' s not only him...his staff are great. Dr. Nguyen is thorough, smart, and explains everything in laymen's terms. He also quells the pain out of dentistry through simple t'ai chi breathing exercises. On my first visit, I had no idea he was utilizing t'ai chi methods. He just talked me through the discomforting parts of my treatment; taught me how to breath to relieve the stress--or the triggers of pain. What a unique patient experience! I discovered--after many years of searching for the best dentist--that the reason why Dr. Nguyen is so good, is because he combines the best of western Dental Medicine--which is apparent with his USC DDS credentials; and his residency training from Loma Linda U. I have been going to Dr Nguyen for years. I came to Dr Nguyen with teeth aches and it turned out I had 7 failed fillings. He was very gentle. I didn't feel any pain. He was able to take care of all 7 fillings in one day so I wouldn't have to take another day off of work. Several months later my mother was in pain so I made an appt with Dr Nguyen and he was able to take care of mother with minimal pain and was able to help calm her nerves. She was very nervous about the treatment but Dr Nguyen and his staff were very kind and patient with my mom. She was able to get her work done with ease. His staff is very nice and polite. They always greet me with a smile. I am so happy with Dr Nguyen that I have been recommending friends, family, and coworkers to him. I'd definitely recommend this dentistry. I've came here on multiple occasions and walked out happy every time. The area is clean, and they have movies u can watch while being worked on.
