We've been to the new Mel's a few times- the staff are friendly, the food is tasty and comes quickly. Never had a problem with my order. It's busy in the summer but there's benches outside to sit and wait. No waiting space in the restaurant.

Small, quaint little dinner, with delicious food, and friendly staff. Try the Villas skillet!

What a great resource for the local community and visitors alike!…read more This was my first visit this sweet little store to pick up steaks to grill for our last night in Cape May. I chose 2 nice strip steaks that proved delicious accompanied by mushrooms, broccoli and potatoes for oven baked fries - which i also got at the store. I needed some deli meat and the woman at the meat counter recommended their own ham, which is very tasty and definitely much better than what you get in a package at the grocery store. So far I've made sandwiches and chef salad that were a cut above the usual. It would be perfect if they offered just a bit more produce...but I understand there might not be enough demand to warrant it. The people were friendly and helpful and the customers all seemed to be regulars. A great resource for locals and visitors alike.

I'm so glad she did!…read more Gaiss Market is old school corner deli & grocery, the kind of place that used to be everywhere, until huge supermarkets came along. For me it was partially a trip down memory lane. The market is small, cluttered, with a decent mix of dry goods, cold, packaged meats snd fresh veggies. The deli/meat counter is the star, with super fresh, high quality meats. I orders the supreme Italian hoagie. It was excellent. Fresh tomatoes full of flavor, great roll, generous quantities of meats. I also picked up some packaged goods, including Gaiss' own pork roll, vacuum packed and "award winning". It's delicious, as is their vacuum packed bacon which is cut at a perfect thickness. We liked them both so much I've got orders to stock up next time I'm down there. Nice people, it's now a bring your own bags store - local ordinance. Nothing is cheap, the quality makes it worth the higher price. Parking - pull up spots around the building. Definitely will be back soon.

We finally stopped in to see what the buzz was about at the local tavern in the Villas. Let me…read moretell you - the buzz was on point Let's start with the staff - very friendly Next our waitress Brittany gave some excellent recommendations both on drinks and food. She was attentive and friendly. In addition to their regular menu, they had a special valentine's centric menu. This made it difficult to choose because we had also been given recommendations from friends on what to order. We settled on French onion soup (delicious), Caesar salad and the filet special from the valentines menu which was accompanied by the creamiest butteriest smashed potatoes (note the menu said mashed but I consider any mashed that contains the skins of the potatoe a smashed potatoe) and asparagus with a reduction. The food was very good. I can't use the term exceptional until I have made more visits - which we will certainly do. I also treated myself to the chocolate strawberry martini. Delicious ! We also had the chocolate mousse topped with fresh whipped cream and strawberries for desert. It will go on my top 10 desserts I ever ate list for sure. Needless to say that kitchen is pushing out some fantastic food. The bar is putting out quality pours and cocktails. I would also be remiss if I didn't state that they also had a live guitarist singing and he was good - I didn't catch his name though. Can't give them a 5 star until we dine again ... Thanks local tavern for a great experience!

A lovely greeting on entrance. My wife and I used to work at an iconic eatery in phila called Taylor's country store and both of us looked at each other and said we get the same vibes. The decorations were just what you'd hope for in an eclectic little restaurant. Located on the edge of the villas maybe 15 mins from wildwood and cape May if you're visiting down the beach or shore don't sleep on this place. Now for the food we were looking for lunch we have our go to spots but wanted to change it up and I'm so glad my wife chose TBD. Has a great menu with something for everyone. I got a hot roast beef because it's one of my favorites. Side of fries hand cut. First the sandwich was everything I had hoped for I go a couple Roast beef sand places but this has shot to the top. Gravy on the side is how it came and it was just what the sand was meant for ciabatta roll soaked it up perfectly, no prob I'm not a fan of the disintegrating gravy sand I like to control the gravy. Roast beef was thick but not out of control thick, didn't need sharks teeth to bite through it. And not any gristle which definitely mattersHorseradish on the side a little bite not your make your nose run hot but hot enough. Hand cut fries delicious crispy hot and a perfect pairing to dip in the gravy. The pickle was exactly how you want a deli pickle to be crunchy fresh and sharp flavored w real dill I will say it again perfect . My wife had the burger it was huge tasty I know because I had half the right amount of everything. She chose the fresh homemade chips they were marvelous too I know because I grudgingly gave up a few fries to have some chips. It was big enough she said she would be skipping dinner. Anyway it's the kind of place you leave saying I can't wait to go back and try the other choices because you know they will all be made with culinary care and taste great. Don't step nod or miss this place. Being on weight watchers I know I'm gonna regret finding it, but you shouldn't it's on rt 47 the sign w the two black dogs sorry no pics of the food but I was hungry and scarfed it down before thinking

The food took forever - almost 50 minutes from when the appetizer was finished and the 3 sandwiches arrived.
