BEST breakfast in Wildwood for the last 60 years. Been going here since I was a boy. EXCELLENT.

Came here for breakfast while vacationing nearby, and really loved the old time feel here. From the decor, to the the food to the friendly staff this place made for an enjoyable stop. They had old built in small juke boxes at each table, which do not work of course but led to some fun reminiscing. I really can't say enough about the friendly and prompt service. This was a place where all of the servers work together. We were a group of 5 and I think 4 different people grabbed different parts of our drinks. It had a real family feel, and you could watch the cooks making your breakfast. I ordered french toast with fresh banana and strawberries. It was very good. This was a special, and it directly indicated the fresh fruit which I like and lived up to the description. My husband got a more traditional eggs and toast and sausage and he enjoyed it as well. I def recommend this as a place for good home cooked breakfast when visiting the area, and would definitely come back on a return trip! read more

The food was basic and over priced. The young waitress that we had was the only bright spot. The setting looks very vintage..if you're into that style. So vintage that a ceiling tile fell to the ground while we eating. For $4.75 receive 3 thin slices of bacon.. WoW!! They couldn't bother to even give us straws for our drinks. This is my honest review that i know they are going to come back with a rude retort but, if they put as much effort into their establishment as they do berating reviewers this might be an awesome place to go. read more

Gee, I wonder, if it is -culinary correct- to call this AWSOME pancake sandwich a 'pan-wich'? I bet you, someone has already used it. Warning: Mind-blowing description: Double stack of hot and fresh off the griddle, golden, and fluffy, buttermilk pancakes. Filled with two fried eggs and cheese. I opted not to get it with the bacon, and it was served with home fries. My first 'pan-wich' ever was rich, delicious, and pleasant. It was the BOMB! Pros: - Huge portions. So,get ready to pig out! - Laid-back, family-owned restaurant, serving breakfast since the 1950's. - Great food and service. Cons: - Cash only. Bring $12 and your breakfast, beverage and gratuity will be covered! - Larkin's doesn't have a sister restaurant in philly, where I reside. Therefore, I highly recommend that they open one. Great place! Been coming here since the late 80s. I was in with my son yesterday morning.we both had western omelets( which were very fresh and made perfectly) The food is always good, the service has always been pleasant. I have always had a good experience here. I stop in anytime I am down here. I like that its family run, it literally hasn't changed in years, and I'm fine with that. I like consistancy. I see some of the negative reviews, and this is what is bad about yelp... people write more about their bruised egos then about the actual food. Someone said this place is dirty.... not at all true. I remarked to my son how clean the floors looked. Give Larkins a try, excellent food, good portions, good coffee, reasonably priced. I love going to Larkins for breakfast however I was a little disappointed in my breakfast the other day I typically get the creamed chip beef special and honestly it tasted unseasoned ? As did the home fries that came with the meal. The waitstaff as always was fabulous. There are many breakfast places in Wildwood so I decided to look on yelp for advice. Not understanding why this gets such high ratings. Loved this place - it is a throwback kinda place - part of Wildwood history being in business 67 years ! We had a delicious breakfast reasonably priced with awesome service as well! This place serves only breakfast and has a decent sized menu with everything cooked to perfection and served quickly. This breakfast place is awesome. They are open for breakfast only and a bit of a way from the boardwalk. Inside the theme is old school diner, with vintage juke boxes at each booth (they don't work though!). The menu is small but has all the breakfast staple items at super low prices. You can't make any changes to the menu items which helps for productivity and most likely keeps the cost down. The orange juice tastes fresh (I'm not sure if it is) and the service is quick. This was probably my 10th visit for the summer but as always it was great! The service is sweet and home town, come on in and we even got to pick our table bc it was early. I had the bacon and cheese omelet with rye toast. The toast has a little smile face. Delish! Home fries perfect. Coffee was fresh and they topped it off a few times. Larkin's is my new favorite Breakfast spot at the shore since the Apollo Diner had been highly disappointing during my last visit. Their wait staff is made of up mainly high school and college aged girls who are a mixture of locals as well as summer housers. You'll also find a few who have been there probably since the place first opened. It's a super sweet environment that will pull you back to the days of the genuine 50's doo-wop era with their jukeboxes and counter seating and it has the homemade food to match. Whether it's pancakes, chipped beef, or just plain eggs you can do no wrong at Larkin's. And at about $12 for a filling breakfast for two it's perfect for a summer budget shore meal that will last a beach's day. read more

It's a decent enough breakfast spot but it has a limited menu with clear messages stating that substitutions are not allowed. The wait staff is fast and friendly but you may want to stay away from the booths near the windows as you are stuck watching the faces of the hungry patrons waiting to get into the restaurant. Went here for first time today. Cute place with friendly and excellent service. Unfortunately, Neither of us were impressed with the food. Pancakes heavy, not fluffy, packaged butter and syrup, scrambled eggs not scrambled, more like flat omlet without additions, ham was tasty, but too thin. Home fries tasteless. Since there are so many other places with great food, we may not go back. Although it was so friendly and we liked atmosphere, we may give another try, and order something different. read more

We went here for food as we've done before. The service was absolutely horrible. The food was cold and my coffee was cold. I asked for another coffee and the waitress was rude and obviously overwhelmed with the amount of people she had to serve. My bacon and cheese omelet was cold the cheese was still a slice of cheese and not melted. I left a review on Facebook as well and the owner attacked us for leaving 1 star and a bad review! Delicious food ready at super speed. Our waitress was very kind, telling us places we can go in town and even gave us a coupon to a place for dinner. The chef brought over a complimentary plate of bacon and sausage after hearing about our awful experience at another restaurant earlier. The sausage was lean and cooked to perfection. Local spot with friendly waitstaff and greeter. Breakfast is ordered by number and out so quickly that the waitress may not get your coffee to you before bringing the food. Cute little smiley face toast and crispy not too salty bacon was just my style. Looks like "old time" Wildwood, although prices are very much "today"--plan on $20.00 for two. Street parking can be tough, but on "move out" day, get there before 10 am and you should be ok. read more

Larkin's is just right if you're looking for a wonderful diner that your dad would take you to as a kid. The Irish coffee is spectacular and the atmosphere is a wonderful mix of mostly "townees" and some tourists. When driving up New Jersey Ave I looked out the window and saw the charming, old place. I knew I wanted to try it. The menu is extremely simple. You just give them the number of the dish. Eggs and pancakes were GREAT! You can't go wrong and after spending more than $22 for two at other places this fantastic food was mighty welcome at $5.00 a plate! read more

My Family and I vacation in wildwood a lot. Our first time to Larkins. We will def be back. Very reasonable prices and friendly staff. My daughter loved the jukebox she never seen one before. This was the best breakfast we had our whole vacation wish we found this place before. The Tom and cheese omelet I had was great. My kids tried the pancake sandwich they loved it. We had been recommended to go to Larkin's for breakfast on numerous occasions so we finally obliged. It is unfortunate that we did. Perhaps we just had a bad experience which was an outlier, but we won't find out if that is the case. In general, a restaurant has to really be unimpressive the first time to rule out going again, but that's exactly what it was... The interior was a bit dated, which isn't necessarily a big deal, but with the other factors, doesn't help. Our table was sticky and covered in whatever the previous diners left (whether it was earlier that morning or from the previous day) and clearly wasn't wiped down properly. The orange juice had a very unorthodox taste and certainly didn't taste fresh. It may have come from a dispenser, which I have seen plenty of times, but the taste was practically unbearable. The food itself was nothing to write home about. It was average at best. The eggs were bland, but most are, and the sausage is virtually the same at every restaurant at the shore. Had the rest of the experience not been so disheartening, I may have considered going back and ordering a different menu option but the experience as a whole left a bad taste in my mouth (and it wasn't just the OJ!). read more

Was the rudest / dirtiest dining experience I have ever had. Since I've been there before, I knew to expect to be rushed and not expect much of customer service. What I did not expect was the waitress' use of foul language, after I asked her a question. I also did not expect that from the management or owners. Apparently, that is why the waitress had no problem insulting me when I asked her if it was common practice for her to put the butter, syrup and jelly container under and on top of our food. I found this to be disturbing. Her response was to tell me that everyone did it. And, that she had 8 hours of training and this practice was acceptable. Oh, and that it was the most , (insert curse word beginning with [--] here) ridiculous question she had ever heard. Yes, that is what she said. So, with that, I got up and walked out. My boyfriend stayed behind to pay the check. Something I give him much credit for, because he is the kindest man I have ever met. When he went to pay for the meal, he was asked how everything was. My boyfriend then proceeded to tell her how dirty the floor was under the table by us. He said that you have raisins and trash under table and still sit people there without cleaning up. Her response was that they weren't raisins they were chocolate chips. Can you believe it? She was not aguing the fact the place was dirty she was arguing the fact that he thought the filth was something it was not. The point is, it's still filth and trash. When he told the manager/owner, about how rude the waitress was her reply was that she heard some of the conversation and that she thought it was absolutely (insert curse word begining with [--] here)crazy that we would ask such a thing. Portions are incredibly small, coffee cups are stained, bathroom had no toilet paper, (I had to leave my 6 yr old in the restroom and go ask a staff member for paper who had to ask someone else) home fries are cooked with onions (despite what they claim), no butter brought out with toast (especially stamped with a smile) and prices are too high. Go somewhere else, I spent 60.00 for 3 adults and a 6 yr old for breakfast. A large chocolate milk was like 2.75 for barely 8 oz. Perhaps I had a bad experience and this isn't the norm for this place which should help raise awareness for some spot checking for consistency amongst their wait staff. read more
