Giant Bavarian pretzel- both the cheese and mustard dips were delicious!

My husband and I have been to Melvin's twice in the past week- everything about this place is phenomenal! I am not a drinker, but the food is spectacular, and the location is even better- they have an amazing patio space with perfect views of the mountains and reservoir every where you look! Service has also been wonderful. We will most definitely be back!

Melvin is a fantastic spot on the Palisades Reservoir. Their brews are as delicious as their food offerings. Service is always efficient and friendly. The views of the mountains and reservoir make this a very special place. Don't miss this spot while you are in Alpine.

All of it was just so amazing. We chose to stay in Alpine while we were visiting Jackson hole and there's not a ton there, so this is like the perfect gem! When you first drive up, the ambience is spot on for a brewery. It's right on the reservoir and you've got mountains in the background on all sides. The front patio has picnic tables and cornhole. And then when you walk in you get the big brewery feel because you can see all the brewing equipment in the back ,and then the bar area was well designed. indoor seating with huge bay windows to look out over the lake at tables or at the bar. My dad got the OG burger because he's quite picky. But it was juicy and a perfect burger. I like to try more unique things, so I went with the veggie burger. It was very fresh, homemade! It was soft, and the bottom bun got soggy. So it just needed a lil more texture maybe cheese on the bottom to keep bun dry Beer was refreshing, and I just loved the view. Staff was super nice and upbeat feel!

I have had Melvin a couple of times before, specifically when they were once located in Bellingham, Washington. That location has since closed and it looks like their headquarters in Alpine is the only location left. I always enjoyed their beer and figured I was due for a revisit and some time has passed and when I pass through Wyoming I like to hit up as many of my home state craft breweries that I can. This latest beer excursion with Melvin was all about IPA'S. I had three different ones and all three had their unique signature to them. It wasn't where one IPA ran into another in regards to flavor and it was hard to tell apart. So that was most appreciated because that scenario is often the case for me. One IPA I had was the 2X4 Dipa, a Double IPA which I liked. It was smooth and strong and the flavors of tropical sweetness and hoppiness was certainly there. The characteristic I liked best with this one was that it was strong. The Melvin IPA was the next one. What really got my attention with this one was it's piney personality. It also was sweet, fruity and hoppy. Also a very smooth bodied IPA. The last IPA was the Back in Da Haze, this was a New England IPA and had a good creamy body to it. The juicy, fruity and citrus presence was nice too. A good return for me and Melvin and a brewery I have every intention of returning to as I love to travel through the Alpine area and this corner of Wyoming is one of my favorite spots in the entire state.

Such a great spot in Alpine! - Ambiance 5/5. There are so many seating options. Wonderful outdoor seating overlooking the lake and mountains. There is also a lawn area out there with yard games. Indoor seating has normal tables for small groups, large high top tables for large groups or community seating, window high top bar and the general bar seats. The majority of the building is the brewery which is quite massive!! It's a large open warehouse design. - Service 5/5. The staff here are awesome! Always friendly, always checking on you and are mostly local from what I can tell. - Food 5/5. I've only had a few things, the steak tacos and their signature burger. They were both good, no complaints. The menu is decent for a brewery in a tiny town. - Beer 5/5. This is why you're coming and it's worth it. So many options, all are very tasty! Nice seasonal selections and always fresh!! Make sure you try the Star Vally!! Make sure you stop in if you're passing through Alpine or make it a weekend trip and go spend some time in the forest and come in for some beer and food after!! So good!!

Beautiful outside patio! Service was great. Beers were delicious and food was decent. Good stop if you are headed to Jackson.

    Purple Drift

We're always on the hunt for a great brewery--and Melvin Brewing did not disappoint! Super cute spot with a laid-back vibe, yard games, and both indoor/outdoor seating. My husband is a hazy IPA guy, and while they only had Back In Da Haze on tap during our visit, it was solid. One of the staff recommended Purple Drift (not a hazy, but still a hit), and hubby ended up enjoying it almost as much. As for me? The I'll Be Your Huckleberry cocktail was light, refreshing, and perfect for a summer afternoon. We shared a giant pretzel and both had burgers--absolutely delicious and hit the spot. Great food, good drinks, and genuinely friendly staff!

This Hass to be one of the most beautiful breweries in the world. It's located in Alpine, Wyoming and the views are just stunning. However, what's just as stunning is the brewery itself. The food, the beer, the environment is amazing. I cannot recommend this place more. If you're ever lost in the mountains of Wyoming, stop by this place and, have a beer. Also, there branding is super fun. You'll get it when you're there.

Great burgers and sandwiches. The nachos were kind of sad. Staff super friendly though kitchen was a little slow. Extremely dog friendly.

The pub isn't on the Jackson town center, so that mitigates some traffic. Nonetheless the brewery was decently crowded. Fully menu service at the bar, upstairs or downstairs. Seating is first come, first served. Nice mix of tourists and regulars assembled for football, brews and lively socializing. Fun music playlist could still be heard despite the large TV screen. The space feels both contemporary yet a Jackson Hole institution. While the menu features pub food, I shortlisted a number of gourmet contenders. Ultimately the "slash and burn trout" was irresistible. You'll love this dish if you like a variety of colors, flavors and textures. I meant to 86 the fried leeks, but they added crispy fun to the tender fish, decadent pork belly, sweet corn & roasted tomatoes & fresh radish sprouts. This plate qualifies for culinary genius.

The beer selection offers something for just about everyone, and the food was good overall. Nothing completely wowed me, but everything was decently prepared. The bison burger was pretty dry and you can't pick how you wanted it cooked so that was a miss. The service was friendly throughout despite how busy they were.

The truffle fries were worth the up charge with the sandwiches as they were full of flavor and still crisp when they arrived at the table. The environment was pleasant! Me and one of the other hiking Baddies came in wanting something a little more quiet and low-key after such a long day. We shared the buffalo cauliflower appetizer and the Philly cheesesteak with fries, and honestly it hit the spot perfectly -- hearty, rich, and comforting after hiking. I also ordered the huckleberry mocktail and the waiter was able to add a shot of vodka for me, which made for the perfect relaxing little buzz. My friend ordered an IPA that she really enjoyed too. Service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was nice and cozy. They do have balcony seating overlooking the small town, which looked really cute and I can totally see why people love sitting out there. The only thing is smaller groups may have to share tables with strangers, which just wasn't our vibe after such a long day, so we stayed inside at one of the round tables instead. Still had a nice view near the doors and a much more relaxed, intimate conversation. Overall, such a great little stop to unwind after hiking!

The so called General Tso steak sauce was like a thimbleful smear and completely irrelevant. BBQ Ramen seasoning? Not even enough to get a taste profile of it. The trout with a green curry sauce was good but again, ummmm.... Trout has a subtle flavor. Green curry coconut sauce, and stuffed with another type of Asian something something....might as just as well better to use a neutral tasting fish like a better quality tilapia imho. Let trout taste like trout. Use a different, neutral tasting fish for these kinds of sauces and fillings. Well at least it wasn't covered with a garnish of micro greens lol. Just a little cilantro heh heh heh. I mean don't get me wrong. Both entrees were okay. But a waste of quality fish when a less costly fish would have been fine what with all those other flavors. And the foam and powder embellishments on the steak were barely noticeable. The whole menu reads like a community college cooking school graduate little bit of this little bit of that. When I get home I'm going to have fun writing the different components of all the menu items on index cards, shuffle, and see what combinations come up each time. And I love the idea of a General Tso steak sauce and want to try creating one. And using a packet of Ramen seasoning instead of Cajun seasoning sounds like a fun thing to try. I just won't do it on a fifty dollar piece of meat. If you are counting calories you skip the gross doughnut hole dessert. Dense ball of dough. Gummy. Like they used a cake doughnut recipe instead of a yeast doughnut or beignet recipe. But if not counting calories , go for it. It's fun to try the sauces, even if not that great a doughnut. Great, festive, lively ambiance . Super friendly staff and service.
