Delicious!!! They were packed when we got there, but they put a couple tables together for our group of 6. The owner came by several times to talk with us and make sure the food was good. Our waitress was also great! We got incredible garlic bread before our meal and my shrimp scampi was rockin! My coworker got oysters and she ate them faster than I could say oyster. I am a dedicated carnivore and it is very rare (no pun intended) to find what I consider to be a perfect steak sandwich. The steak panini is loaded with perfectly cooked steak tips, grilled onions and horseradish sauce on a toasty ciabatta roll - to die for! It came with an excellent salad as well - very fresh greens with a delicious balsamic vinaigrette. My sister ordered the fries for us to split and they were outstanding as well. Phenomenal food, phenomenal service. My boyfriend and I actually had a debate about whether or not our waitress was on cocaine or not because of how energetic , excited and helpful she was. This chick really likes her job and it shows. The food is impeccable and worth every cent. My only regret was not ordering the lobster. We will be back ASAP! Best place I have been in a bit. A true gem in a smaller community, this establishment would easily fit into a major food market such as Atlanta. Food speaks for itself with freshness you can taste. The staff only adds to the flavor of the Restaraunt.... As do the lovely owners who were making sure everything was running smoothly. Made to order dishes are stars of the show and the menu is diverse enough to feed even the pickiest of eaters all the way to a true gourmand. Giving this place 5 stars is like saying Michael Jordan played basketball, a true statement sure... But an understatement most certainly. First time here. Right down the street from my house. I us the surf and turf and a few appetizers. Girlfriend said her margarita was the best she ever had. Service was great. Wasn't sure what to expect in Chalmette with "Bar & Grill" on the outside, but this was fantastic. We had the fried chicken livers, which may have been ground, and were very crisp and coated with a spicy site made "pepper jelly", which I think contained jalapeño, over stone ground grits. The widens not a big dan of chicken livers, and she loved it. We also shared the Pasta Lafitte, which was again fantabulous. Pasta was cooked to perfection, not rubbery at all, and the sauce was perfectly balanced. Very spicy, but didn't hammer you, no where near delicate, but not too heavy. Our waitress was amazing. The food was the worst. My food was way over cooked burnt, have no idea how you can over cook fish and potatoes were dry and salad which had no dressing. If you want to go to a place that has there nose up in the air the whole time and dont care about the food. This would be your place. So I was brought here for a Valentines Day date....it was my first time here and the prices were kind of high but I had always heard rave reviews about the food. We started w/ charbroiled oysters and geez-a-loo, they were cooked perfectly and were unbelievably delicious. I ordered the filet for dinner w/garlic mashed potatoes. I'm not kidding....literally best steak I've ever had. The garlic mashed potatoes were on point and of course pairing it with a nice bottle of wine was perfect. The only reason I didn't give this place a five star review is the fact that the servings are abnormally small. I mean, like really small. I've been to a lot of fancy a la carte steakhouses before and Meme's had such tiny portions especially on the side dishes. Other than that, I highly recommend this place! read more

Another review by me! LOL My husband and I chose to go to MeMe's again but this time for our 3rd Wedding Anniversary. Once again we were not let down by the Meme's experience. We had the BBQ shrimp as an appetizer and I had a house salad with ranch. Very flavorful and perfectly cooked BBQ Shrimp. My only complaint is not enough for your money. (you get 5 jumbo prawn shrimp in an order) My salad was nice and fresh and the ranch was homemade unlike most places that serve that Kraft crap. We decided to try the Wednesday night special which is a pasta dinner and side salad for $12.99. The chef's choice of the night was Tequila Shrimp pasta and Cajun Chicken Pasta. I went with the Cajun chicken and it was awesome. It was perfectly balanced with the cream sauce and spice and I must say you get a lot for your money. My husband and I decided to split that and also the veal over alfredo pasta which we had before in the past. Wonderfully seasoned veal fried to perfection over a nice size of alfredo pasta with fresh broccoli tossed in (last time it had fresh asparagus) At the end of the meal the two owners came over and thanked us for returning (they remembered us from our last great experience) and our server sent us out a complimentary white chocolate bread pudding for dessert to celebrate our anniversary. It was amazing! It was not too sweet but just sweet enough. We look forward to going back to try their prime rib night on Saturdays. Can't wait! I ran into the Chef Linkin at the Hideout, he had so much passion about cooking and making the best dishes possible. After hearing his story and how much he puts into his food i wanted to go there soon. On Thursday nights there special is a 7 oz Fillet wit Garlic Mashed Potatoes for $16. When we got there the Hostess was hesitant to seat us, she told us a large party was coming in about 40 - 50 min. We told her we wouldn't lounge around we would eat and go, so she gladly seated us. The space between tables are a little to tight for my Big Butt, but at least the chairs are comfortable. Well anyway while we were waiting for our food we got some yummy garlic bread and could smell some amazing food that made our mouths water. We didn't wait long for our steaks, i like my steaks Med Rare and it was cooked perfect. It came with 2 sauces but after tasting my steak i nearly threw them across the table, it was so perfectly seasoned and cooked it didn't need so stinking sauce. The Garlic Mashed Potatoes were just as tasty i really wanted to savor my food that i just inhaled. I was considering ordering another steak to go for lunch. Just then a large group of Prissy woman came in and started complaining. Up till that moment we had the best time. I can't blame the restaurant for being packed as we left, i had to ask a lady to skoot up so i could pass through to leave. Everyone that works there is extremely nice and helpful and i can't wait to go back, next time i want to try the Catfish. Some people might complain about the high prices, but they fail to realize there eating higher quality food that taste amazing, its not diner food. I venture to Chalmette about once a week for dinner and MeMe's is the "fanciest" restaurant in the Parish and one of the best. The chef, Lincoln Owens, came to MeMe's via Emeril's and Cafe B, so one can expect a level of cooking that you really can't find elsewhere in St. Bernard. The menu is large and has everything from seafood and steaks to Italian dishes. They have different specials on different nights - Thursday is steak night and Friday is Lobster night. The stuffed artichoke soup is delicious if you like stuffed artichokes. They top it with crabmeat for a little lagniappe. The grilled oysters are excellent and the crabcakes are delicious as well. I don't like a lot of bread in my crabcakes and these are light on the bread and full of crab. They bake them which is perfect for me. You can't go wrong with any of the fish dishes. They are always on point. One of my favorite parts about coming to MeMe's is that the owners make you feel like part of the family. They are so friendly and welcoming. I've been coming here for years with my parents when I visit from New York. This family owned business is a staple in Chalmette. The owners are on site and check on you throughout your meal. They are so incredibly sweet and make your experience feel so special. The Italian, Cajun, and seafood influences are tasted in every dish and every dish is phenomenal. Steaks are cooked to your liking and perfection with amazing sauces. I usually get a petit with MeMe's steak sauce. I try and getting here before 6:30 to enjoy the chargrilled, Rockefeller, and Thai oyster happy hour. My mom especially loves the spice of the Thai. The stuffed artichoke soup is one of a kind and so rich and tasty. During lent they have tons of fish specials. I highly recommend any daily catch, the eggplant Parmesan, or the Shrimp pasta Lafitte. Make sure you stop in when in the Parish. But check the hours first, they do close between lunch and happy hour. read more

Hands down one of the best restaurants not in Chamette but in the greater New Orleans area! Butternut squash soup, portobello garlic mushrooms, seared scallops with grits/tomatoes, double cut pork chop w an amazing rice side and demi glaze, steak and the deserts, that coconut cream cake and bread pudding...wow...and a great mix drink / wine bar (try Columbia Crest H3) as well. You HAVE to order garlic bread, the first order is free, which is awesome, plus it's really good. I had the Pasta Pakenham with chicken. The sauce was just right, it wasn't too heavy. Also had charbroiled oysters, they were also delicious. The service was great, friendly wait staff. They accidentally delivered a wrong order, and promptly corrected it without hastle. The price wasn't bad at all, especially for the quality of food and service. I would definitely go again, with family or large groups. Everyone in my party enjoyed the food, except for the potato soup. The veal parm was good, the shrimp on the shrimp and grits were huge and delicious. It has a very mellow atmisphere, it is an upper scale place, but they're very laid back and friendly. If you're looking for a nice place to eat in Chalmette with great people and a friendly wait staff, Meme's is the place to go. read more

3 strikes you're out!(one star was selected just to post my review) This is the worse place to go, PERIOD! On March 07,2020 my cousin and I went to MeMe's only because we were in the area looking for a place to go to have a few drinks. Although this was my third time coming to this restuarant it was my cousin's second time. (The last time we went was a year ago and we experienced horrible service and,after leaving a Google Review,was invited to come back and give them another try by MeMe [one of the owners]) After getting there we were set for a nice girls night we ordered a Tropical Breeze (which is a very awesome alcoholic beverage) and eventually we placed an order for a dozen of charred oysters and garlic bread (even though the first order is complementary you wont receive it without ordering it). We noticed that the appetizer plates were dirty (which was an easy fix for the waitress). When the oysters came out they were not cooked enough for our liking so we sent them back and placed an order for the Pasta Lafitte. The menu was not the same as the menu online. I really wanted pasta but did not want bow-tie pasta. I asked the waitress Brooke (I believe her name was) if there were any other pasta dishes that they sold and she told me no the Pasta Lafitte was the only one. (Although I witnessed another guest eating pasta that was not bow tie and the other 2 times I ate at the restaurant I had Chicken Parmesan) but whatever. I told her I didnt want the pasta because I didnt want bow tie and so there was nothing else on the menu I wanted. She then told me that she can have the bow tie swapped out for linguine. I told her that was perfect and I would like it that way. Upon hearing this my cousin decided to have her pasta the same way.When they oysters came backed out they were over done a full of tiny bits of shells making it impossible to eat. When Brooke came out with the pasta my cousin explained that we understand that we asked them to go back on the grill but they were left on there too long and that we would be willing to pay for the amount we ate. She said she had no authorization to make such decisions and that she would go and speak with her manager (who was also watching the dining area from the host's station) when Brooke came back she said that her manager agreed to take 20% off of the oysters. I told her okay she asked if we wanted to take the remaining oyster to go and I told her no thanks because of the shells they were no longer edible. My cousin then asked her about the linguine. And after pausing for a second (I guess realizing she forgot how we placed our order) she mumbled that there was no linguine in the kitchen and she was sorry for not paying attention before bringing the food out. I told her I did not want the food and I was ready for the check. Instead of bring the food back to the kitchen she brought the food to the owner/manager. They separated the room behind the hostess station with the curtain. After a little while the owner MeMe came to our table in what I would like to call a self assertive rage. She came to our table saying that taking 20%of the oyster was a favor that was done for us because we ordered them and we asked that they be cooked longer. After going on and on about her Food Cost budget she have to maintain. My cousin was like whatever if you want we will pay full price for the oysters but the pasta is not what we ordered. She went on to say that her waitress told her that she explained to us that the pasta comes with bow tie (as if reading the description of the meal needed to be explained) so we had no right to expect anything else because we ordered it after being told what comes in it. My cousin explained the initial conversation we had about the bow tie. Letting MeMe know either way if it was something that couldnt be done she should have came back to inform us before placing the order. She came back to the table with Brooke and the check Facial Expression still looking upset. She told us she spoke with Brooke about the problem (=_=) and then offered us the worse FAKE APOLOGY I've ever heard or seen delivered. So beware before going to this place... it's overpriced and your food will be handled any kind of way. Speaking to someone will most likely result in pretty much nothing due to their food cost budget and for that same reason do not go here to try anything new or complain about something that's not to your liking... read more

What a beautiful ending to a beautiful weekend with my baby girl. The food was fabulous! The service was outstanding! The owners were out of this world! I can't wait until we are in New Orleans again so we can go back. That was hands down the best filet I have ever had. My daughter's only complaint was that she could have eaten another 8 oz! I only gave 1 star because i had to in order to leave a review. if i could give 0 stars that's what this place would have gotten. This is our second time going here. Our first time was terrible and the owner actually invited us back but because of how terrible our time was before, we waited a VERY long time before we decided to go back. My cousin and i ordered a dozen chargrilled oysters. They tasted like they weren't clean and they werent grilled enough so we asked them to grill them a little longer. They agreed and we carried on with our night. We were doing our normal girl chit chat so we weren't in a hurry to order any entrees but the waitress checked constantly so we stopped to check the menu and decide what we wanted. They have a Alfredo like pasta with bow ties that you can get with chicken or shrimp. I ordered that immediately while my cousin discussed with the waitress if they still had a pasta using linguine pasta to which the waitress answered that they didn't make that particular pasta dish anymore but we could sub the bow ties for linguine so that what she did. I also let them know that i wanted the linguine too once she stated it was able to be done. After that conversation our oysters came back out and were totally over grilled and burned. We let the waitress know and she said she'd speak with her manager to see what could be done. After a few mins she came back to say she could take 20% off the total of our meal and we agreed. All hell didn't break loose until our pasta dishes came out. They were made using the bow tie pasta (which my cousin stated she didn't want and only ordered the pasta after being told she could sub for linguine.) we called the waitress over and asked her what happened with the linguine and she starts to look like a deer in headlights and obviously lies and says they were out of linguine. My cousin then let her know that she probably should have said something before proceeding with the order upon learning what we want couldn't be done and that we didn't want the food anymore and that they could bring the check. The waitress caught an attitude and said she would go talk to her manager and she'll be back. At that point meme the owner approaches our table telling us how she feel 20% off of our bill was working with us and that she has a food cost that we need to be more aware of. After i actually told her what happened and her waitress confirmed she offered a very half assed apology and told us she would take the pastas off the bill. We ended up paying full price for a dozen oysters and we each only ate one ‍ i will NEVER go here again read more

Late Friday night dinner, was sat at a table quickly. Ordered Spinach and Artichoke dip, which was okay and a little burnt on top. For the entree my girlfriend and I ordered the rib eye and the shrimp and grits. For myself, the rib eye was tender and delicious. My girlfriends shrimp and grits was very salty and had plenty of worcestershire sauce drowning the grits. Waited for a refill for about 10 mins. Staff is very polite.
