She handled the phone (delivery) and also the dining area customers with ease. Never did she show it, but we knew she was stressed but remained calm and professional. The place was very clean and organized as a restaurant should be. I recommend the Crawfish Monica, but if you like it light on the sauce you better request it because they drown the pasta with sauce. Tasted a touch bland for my taste so I requested some garlic powder and BAM, woke it up tremendously. We had two busloads of people, approximately 80 people, and the friendly staff advised us no one would go away hungry. We stayed nearby when we visited New Orleans, and we stopped here one night. We had the shrimp basket (grilled) and a steak dinner. Both were delicious and the service was good. Our waitress was really attentive to us, but the kitchen was either inexperienced or just didn't care. We ordered the sampler for appetizers to share. That didn't come out till we finished our meal. My son ordered burgers and fired and the meat was so dry and rubbery. My wife got the crab cakes over angel hair pasta. The crab cakes were decent... while the pasta was like way overly cooked and mushy. She only ate the cakes and didn't touch the pasta. I over a ribeye and loaded baked potato. My steak came out rare and potato came with only butter. They said they were of the other fixings. The steak was very thin and I sent it back to have it recooked. It came back 10 minutes later still rate. Like they didn't do anything to it. I ended up taking my meal home and recooked it myself. Also, I had onion, sour cream and onions to make a loaded potato at home. We didn't fault the waitress because she kept apologizing for the issue. Pass by this place all the time and always wanted to try it out, Not my favorite spot but was good. I guess my expectations were super high because it's not like it was bad at all. The sampler was good, with the poppers and mozzarella sticks...the marinara sauce was very very good. My hamburger that they forgot to add cheese to was alright. You can tell it's cooked over a real fire which is pretty nice. All condiments/toppings were good and fresh for sure. The onion rings are good, there isn't a heavy taste on the onion part which I'm not sure how I feel about but they're tasty nonetheless. The catfish is real good also, I snuck a few bites and the fries are very good as well. Everything pictured was $50 so do with that as you please. So this is what a fully dressed "Our Famous House Burger" gets you when requested at this eatery. And they have the audacity to ask you to leave a review so Here I Go. I added "Cheddar Cheese" as it was an additional charge which is not a biggie. However, this is not what I expected. From the picture, as you can see, I was just as surprised. Like did I order a got damn Taco Burger? WTF . At least the fries were pretty good . They also served some Onion Rings, alledgedly freshly made this morning but they tasted like . I have no clue what tastes like but I'll bet my life that they are pretty damn close. . Either they were an old batch or the breading/batter was stale and overused because I had to spit that out....Regardless they were freaking horrible. If you make a product and it's bad, it doesn't matter when you made it, so don't serve it. Requested for the server to taste it or have the staff try it to make sure we were not over exaggerating. Simple and unassuming as you drive by, but offering fresh seafood. We stopped in for a quick lunch today and were pleasantly surprised with the food. While the place looks a bit run down and could use face-lift, the seafood was very good. We tried the grilled reddish over rice pilaf. It also came with a crawfish cream sauce that we opted to have on the side. The redfish was nicely cooked and I enjoyed the sauce but it was a bit spicy for him. I really wanted to like this place and maybe that it's simply because I'm not from the South and therefore not used to al food being greasy and fried. They were kind enough to ale me a custom order grilled shrimp poboy/cheesesteak type sandwich. I left there with such a stomach ache from all the grease. I did eat a few fried pickles, but other then that I only had the grilled shrimp poboy philly (no cheese) and coleslaw. The coleslaw was pretty good. My husband had blackened fish and fries and said he would give it 2 stars. If you like a sit down fast food type fried food place, you will love this place. When called they stated they did not have and should have called but did not and sorry we can't refund you. Looking for a last minute lunch for our family of 5, before our meeting at a Swamp Tour company, we only found this fantastic diamond in the rough based on its proximity to where we were heading, but had we known, would've traveled afar for this place. Over-fried, over-battered mid-small size shrimp that were tough to eat! Onion rings were lukewarm and without any taste! They were either chewy or tough! I love onion rings and can always make my way through an order of them, but I could not eat more than a few of these and they actually charge extra for them as a side! Unbelievable! The fish was not as over-fried as the shrimp because the pieces are larger but still underwhelming and the fries, though likely frozen, were seasoned and cooked well. $36 for two lunches and a kid's meal is too much to pay for over-fried seafood and yuk onion rings! Went here for lunch and ordered the 3 fish and medium shrimp combo. My order was piping hot! I couldn't even eat it on the way home. The fries were well seasoned, but there was little seasoning on the fish and shrimp. Nothing a little shake of Slap Ya Mama or Tony Chachere's can't fix. Overall, I was very satisfied with my meal. The medium shrimp are a good size, similar to the ones on a poboy. The fish was perfectly crispy. My fries were a tad over done, but they were good. The older lady at the counter was kind enough to give me three dipping cups of tartar sauce and lots of ketchup. It's yellow, but it's tartar sauce :) The only downfall is that there are no bottled drinks which I would have liked since I was ordering takeout. The menu is pretty large with reasonable sizes. Delicious Food Went here for the first time Friday night we had to wait about 10 minutes which was good for Lent! The atmosphere was really nice and staff was ver attentive and friendly. We had the grilled redfish and the grilled tuna!! The redfish was grilled perfectly not dry and seasoned to perfection. Decent spot for some seafood or burgers. They really like their fried catfish here but I'm not really a fan of most catfish and prefer trout and other fish for a seafood platter. The seafood gumbo had quite a respectable amount of seafood in it and the fried shrimp were good. I was rather confused over the lack of any hot sauce on the tables and wondered if I had been magically transported outta Louisiana? The service was attentive and kept the drinks filled. The portions were a nice size for the price, and the staff was nice. We had been looking for a seafood spot comparable to Baton Rouge seafood, and we found this gem.
