Stopped by here for the first time on Halloween, Friday after work. Daily Special was a catfish plate with mac n cheese (spaghetti version), sweet peas, potato salad and a Hawaiian roll. Friend opted for seafood mac-n-cheese. Food was hot and fresh. Seasoned well. Only thing I missed was a lil tartar sauce for my fish. Lemonade was a tad sweet for my liking (like red kool-aide sweet). I cut it with some water & enjoyed it with my meal. Waitress was helpful and patient when we were deciding what to order. So I've been here 4 times total and I don't live on the west bank I despise driving over here but for Cafe Bleu yes indeed. 1st. Time I went I ordered to go & there was a to-go fee. I ordered the redfish with the creole blue pasta & let me tell you I was sum upset about that fee cause I didn't leave the parking lot until the whole plate was gone. Jason was my server he did a great job. 2nd. Time I ordered the creole bleu pasta w steak and the gulf of America option it's the last one on the menu you get three crabs and a tester of each oyster they have and their oysters are fabulous Jason was my server again and he did an amazing job 3rd. Time I came I ordered the lamb chops & the potato. I've never had lamb chops before mine were amazing, my boyfriend's chops were a little on the tough and bland side but I think that's because the service outweighed the 4 cooks they had nonetheless the service was excellent to say it was only Miss Nova second day 4th. Time I came here I got the creole bleu pasta with fried salmon, and the bleu burger with onion rings the server I had was all over the place I'm not going to lie maybe she was having a bad day or something but Jason and Nova came and saved the day. Don't be put off by the location - next to the Texaco, which has a Po Boys #2 in it (I understand they're good) - and don't go there when you're in a hurry, and you'll enjoy your meal. This is a SUPER GEM. Four of us (husband & I & 2 guests) were the first customers in this location at 10A on a Saturday. Very casual atmosphere; definitely has the feel of a locally run business. We had to ask if they were open, because they were sparsely staffed. Our server, Dana, seated us, took our drink orders (no non-alcoholic beers or mocktails, in case you're wondering), and had us hooked up quickly. All sodas and coffee $3.23, and our guest said the coffee was really good. We all ordered something different and sampled each other's meals. Husband had the fried chicken and waffles ($15.59). He's right, that chicken was good! Guest 1 had the NOLA special ($10.39) which is scrambled eggs mixed with rice, and bacon. It was so well seasoned, and I never would have put eggs & rice together - that I'm dying to try it at my house. Guest #2 had the veggie omelet with cheese ($18.71) and it was also very good, though it doesn't come with toast, so she had to swipe some from another plate. I ordered the Honey Glazed Salmon, with Gritz that are mixed with their cheese sauce ($21.83). The salmon was perfectly cooked - it flaked when the fork was inserted, and was able to be reheated, because it was a huge portion. Checkout was a breeze once we could catch her. Probably one of the worst dining experiences we have had on the road. We were seated but then the waitress disappeared. When she did come back she didn't ask what we wanted to drink but instead asked if we were ready to order. When we asked about specific menu items she didn't know and had not tried them. Our food was brought out by the cook (the restaurant was almost empty so it wasn't like she was busy). We didn't even get checked back on once the food had arrived and I had to get up to get my own napkins for our table. This was awful service, mediocre food and overpriced for the portions. Never coming back and wouldn't recommend. The 13 top that showed up after our meal was delivered got all of the attention and we had to wait to even get our bill to escape the nightmare. read more

OMG! This place knocks it out of the park! The food is gourmet quality at modest prices. The service was pleasant and caring. Seanique, our server tonight was really outstanding! We had the gumbo, which came without okra, which surprised me. It was mild with lots of sausage. Good but not great. The other appetizer we had was the Creole BBQ Shrimp. The sauce was fabulous and the shrimp fresh and all the parts included. Delicious! My husband had the Creole Blue Pasta which comes with three types of seafood and a slightly spiced sauce. After seeing reviews, I had to experience it for myself. I had a hot sausage, my husband a "fish" Po-Boy. He had an Arnold Palmer I had a sunset (lemonade-fruit punch combo) with a side of fries and onion rings. First strike, a new morning server/hostess told me I could order either brunch or the regular menu... so I felt like breakfast and chose chicken and waffles. About 5 minutes after we order, our waitress tells us that I had to pick off of the regular menu, they're not doing breakfast items. Second strike, the food took so long to cook. People who came in after us (a large group) got served before us... Third strike, my husband noticed that they had placed a sausage Patti on a bun and fries at the other table and then took it back to the kitchen. Moments later they brought it out and set it in front of me. My back was turned so I had no clue, but my husband saw and told me. We asked our server who said "I don't know, I didn't bring your food out", she should ask the server who did bring the food out. A couple of minutes later that girl came out and my husband leans in and said, " I'm a service man, so I notice everything, did that sandwich go to that table along with her fries and you tell them to keep the fries?. She proceeds to say I brought it back to the kitchen and they told me to serve it." ABSOLUTELY NOT... I'll never return. They have 2 bottomless Mimosa options, regular (oj) for 21.99 flavored for 24.99 but you can only choose one flavor of mimosa or pay for two bottomless options so you can have different flavors.. that's weird but i guess. Mimosas are a good mix of juice and champagne. There's absolutely no substitutions yet everything but the crab cakes come with grits no option for potatoes unless you buy it on the side. For the pricing you don't really get what you want. Food was decent, the fish lamb chop and chicken had almost no flavor if not for the sauces accompanied. I've been wanting to try out this place since it was new to the neighborhood. When calling for take out, the employee who answered and took our order was friendly and kind. I ordered the Cajun Creole Pasta with Shrimp and the hubby ordered buffalo wings with fries. Hubby came home and handed the bag to me and I was like dangggg they packed the bag heavy with food so I was really excited. The food looks pretty too when I first opened the box. Unfortunately food was mediocre. The sauce was bland and could use extra creole seasoning. I wouldn't ordered it again. Hubby said his wings were also mediocre. There were no bleu cheese or ranch which should have came along with his buffalo wings. We even asked for it when ordering. I wasn't there to see what the space look like (since my husband picked up the food) but they do have plenty of parking every time I drove by there. Long review, but worth the read if you don't want to have a horrible experience.... My family stopped to get gas at the place next door and decided to stop in for some lunch. This place is very cute inside and has great potential, but because we had so many issues with our time there, I would NOT recommend to anyone. When we walked in, there was a lady organizing a table covered in sunglasses and it took her a while to acknowledge me, but she never stopped to help us. Then a young guy came to the host stand and seemed confused when trying to seat us. The staff did not seem very welcoming at all throughout the whole time we were there (never saw anyone smile). It took at least 10 minutes to be acknowledged and to place our drink orders. There were several tables around us that were waiting to place their order, and the guy taking orders (same guy who sat us) was not going in order of who was seated first. We finally were able to place our food order. I ordered a kids meal for my son and clearly asked the waitress if a kids drink was included and she said yes, but then I was charged for it at the end (a kids meal should not cost me a total of $13.50!!). While waiting for our food (which took over an HOUR for us to get), the lady was setting up the sunglasses table for over 30 minutes. She had an apron on, which tells me she does more there than selling sunglasses. She should've been helping out with everything! Once we had placed our food/drink order, we never saw our waitress again and was never checked on or offered refills. One of the tables next to us had some food delivered and then the others were still waiting for their food. After at least 20 minutes (which was after an hour of waiting) of not getting the rest of the food, one of them asked about it and the waitress told him that they didn't have what he ordered in stock. The other people at his table were done eating already, and no one cared to tell him he wasn't getting what he ordered. You know it's bad when the guests around you are comparing stories of their issues. When the manager was approached about several issues at different tables, he did not seem to care one bit, and never once apologized. He was also wearing slides with socks, which I thought was very unprofessional and inappropriate when working in a restaurant kitchen. Our food was tasty and presented well on nice plates. I blame all of the issues we had on poor management. The wait staff did not seem to understand their roles and duties, and were all over the place which resulted in long wait times. Better training and a strong manager leading the way would make this restaurant VERY successful. read more

This place is what it is. It's Cheap and you get a lot of food for cheap. Everything is very inexpensive. Everything looks very inexpensive so it's a great place to get a lot of food for Cheap. Don't recommend the spinach dip however, the mac & cheese was great. The eggrolls were good and everything was seasoned and yummy. I definitely recommend the fried catfish that was beautifully done and we loved the catfish platter. My waiter was very nice but remember this is basically like a hole in the wall. We were waited on fifteen minutes after we arrived. (Seated immediately). Ordered our drinks which took another twenty minutes to come. We then ordered our food at that time because we didn't know how long it would be before we saw her again. Keep in mind our waitress was very young, looked about 15 or 16 years old. Well after that we sat for about two hours (trying to be patient because they were busy). The couple next to us started complaining and getting loud because they were told they were out of steaks. Mind you, they were sitting there about an hour or so. Two people in my party ordered steaks as well, but no one had told us anything. Well after tracking our waitress down, we were told that she FORGOT to put our order in AND they were out of steaks! No compensation, apology or anything. No manager.. nothing.
